HW/Weihrauch  Okay. Now I'm done buying airguns. No. Really I am.

The fellow I recently bought my 77 from had my last bucket list gun. Feeling very happy with my 77 I had no problems buying another rifle from him. This rifle was just added to my bucket list in the last year. Thanks to the likes of Mike Driskill and others touting the shooting qualities of the early Hw50 series in a thread. The early 50 series are 25mm bores like my beloved Hw30 with a longer stroke and threaded receivers. They came in target ((55?) and non target models. They sounded interesting to me but the stock styling and lever locking breech kind of left me flat.

Then I find out for a short time Beeman marketed a Hw50 as an R8. I always thought it was the modern 26mm Hw50 that I have already have. Then I found out that the R8 was basically the earlier 25mm Hw50 with modern amenities like a synthetic seals, a normal chisel detent and a Goudy stock. Hold the phone! Now I have to have one.

Today I struck a deal on a very nice R8. Not cheap but I don't mind. There's nothing I know of like it in the Weihrauch line. I don't have it hand yet. I haven't even written the check for it yet. Here's some photos of it with aperture sights. I declined those sights to bring the price down to my budget. I'll post more pictures when I get it.

This morning I ordered a Vortek kit for my 77 I'll have to call Tom in the morning and have him add another kit on there for the R8. That's my big excitement for the day. Now that I've got my early 77 and getting a R8 I'm out of bucket list guns. That makes ten or eleven Weihrauch rifles now, so no more.

Thanks for letting me share my excitement.

Be well.
Ron
That's awesome Ron. Congratulations!

EDgun  Leshiy2 speedloader

To make it short I am looking for the original metal speedloader in .22 second hand preferably.
Back in time when these were in first gen status I did several scenarios with my 3d printer, worked almost decent in .25 cal, but never actively used at my range.
Planning now to train speedshooting in my club and I would need to reload fast.

Brocock/BRK  scope mounted on the ghost

Good questions...
The scope being lower has better balance and less clicks or holdover for short ranges but more clicks or holdover for long ranges. The limitation on the Ghost is being able to see through the scope because it's a bullpup. Most of us will benefit from using the riser because of face structure and position. A high scope will be more forgiving at the long ranges in FT but may balance worse.
So the choice of tradeoffs is yours...
A larger scope is heavier but usually has a brighter image so you may be able to see on the dark lanes better. In Hunter, there's a mag limitation , so going too big is just heavier and more expensive ... not usually a benefit... Yours should be fine if the weight is ok for you... Again, the tradeoffs are your choice.
For myself and my wife, we shot Open class mostly and the B&L 4200 was as dependable, bright, and good ranging as any I've used, plus less than 16 oz and f'd up the balance the least of any available then, or probably now. It's tradeoff was objective parallax. That is a lighter and simpler system than side parallax, so for us, well worth the inconvenience...

Other  Bintac MCAR Issues and Updates

Thanks for the reply. As a navy diver I should have recognized the material as an air filter. Never seen it on a PCP though.

About the Cheekrest: Bin said he received them mid December. Normally, I would not post this kind of stuff on forums but I have tried anything else. I am now going to get something custom made as a replacement.

That is a awesome group .

Pellet or slugs probe - for slugs

What liner are you using for the MRD’s? I dabble with them at times out of my .22 slugger. I switch to a 1:16 for them.

Anything heavy or longer in the caliber of the liner seems to do better with the 1:16 for me.

.25 heavy mk1 and 2, Hades and slugs 30 and over.

In .22 monsters, 33.95s and slugs 21 and heavier
