Western Airguns  My Mordax set-up

I have a pistol red dot sight. it's called an ultra dot. it's the smallest red dot reticle they make. A lot of people use it for a Thompson contender. Im selling it to get a new one. while it doesnt have a zoom the dot is so small you can use it out to 75 yards easy. You can check them out on ebay. Ill sell mine her for $125 instead of $175 on ebay

Daystate Delta Wolf Performance Video

Appreciate the comments Trucker. I don't turn over equipment much at this point and the upgrade was more out of getting to platform that was at a competetive level, at least for where I am. I like the way the 22 cal shoots and hence the choice of going 25 cal on a new AG.
So after some consideration, and seeing the DW was 2-3 months out on a purchase, I picked up a BRK Ghost in 177. I went 177 for use as a FT gun, and I must say I have no regrets with the change. I will consider a DW in the future for sure, just that the Ghost has been easy to set up and dial in. I also found a 25 cal barrel kit to try out at some point. Since the Ghost does not have a built in chrony, I may grab a Athlon so I can switch barrels and tune. Stay safe AGN!

Velocity for testing accuracy of slugs

I just got done testing and finalizing 🤞a new .22 barrel with slugs. Just taking a breather and saw this topic. A 520mm barrel is perfectly adequate in slug land. But if you have a Caiman X with a 520 and a Caiman Y? with a 620mm barrel sitting in front of you to test the same exact slugs, the same slug might work the best in both guns but your speed will be different. If you find a slug that groups best on your pellet tune, then move forward with that slug. You can then try to increase the speed and see what happens. Things may look fantastic as you increase speed, but it can be deceiving. It takes a minimum of 75 yards to tell you what you really have going on with what you think is excellent or even good.

The last tip is this. I love 500ish mm barrels. From years of experience, I kinda know the speeds of where I need to start testing. With a 500mm barrel, no matter how hard I fight it, I wind up with the accuracy I want at a lower velocity than I expected. And that’s with guns that I can control the valve. So don’t be surprised if your slugs shoot best slow and close to your good pellet tunes. It’s not easy to make a 500mm gun a fast and accurate gun. We are not the 950-1,000fps guys. They have long barrels.

Talk about a great airgun company.Moved it to industry feedback.

Airgun Revisions.I received an airgun from them that has a problem. I told them about it, and instead of just sending the part, they are sending me the whole unit. They are a customer-oriented business and listen and make things right.(y)
Good to hear! Try moving this to the industry feedback section before someone else does it for ya

Crosman  Crosman 3622 upgrades

Was going to say to open up barrel and valve exhaust ports to 9/64", but seems you already went to 11/64" or so with a matched TP bushing ...

Playing with the hammer/striker spring tension will affect the bell curve of the shot string. If peaked at first with steady decline, reduce hammer spring tension. If starting with too low velocity then velocity peaks at lower pressure then increase hammer spring tension. Takes a bit of fiddling to get optimized for a flat-ish curve.

That tiny inlet hole will starve the valve to some extent, limiting peak power. I don't own a 3622 so not sure how far you can bore it out. Smaller transfer port bushings (between valve and barrel) can level out the bell curve of shot strings also, at the expense of peak power.

If someone wants "all the beans"... big ports, stout hammer spring and soft (or no) valve spring... Lol. Don't expect many shot though.

Apologies if my ramblings are redundant or otherwise well known. I'll be following silently from this point forward 😁
The rifle is tuned very well, giving me 20 shots between 17.5 and 18 ft/lbs. The next 10 shots, though slower and slower, were still decent. I am new (two years in) to airgunning, but it is a fun hobby for me and less expensive than cars. My goal is 20 shots with as much power as I can wring out with less than 4% deviation. This is my third pcp to try my hand at tuning. I bought a Benjamin Discovery to play with next.

Have you found that “ One Airgun”?

Does it need to be one rifle....or one family?

Other  Moved to general discussion thread.

It's definitely my custom .35 Bighorn with a TJ barrel. 200fpe on max power with several shots on a fill. I can turn it down to 50fpe with that large surface area shooting 68gr hybrids that are devastating on small game and tons of shots per fill. Plus it's tuneability for any power level in-between. 500cc 250 bar fill or throw on a puncher breaker or mega tube with a modded valve and keep similar power adjustments and can throw it in a Breaker stock and have a bullpup if needed. Not to mention I can simply swap barrels and probes to go from .177 to .40 (Largest Caliber I can fit without a breech modification). Plus a custom arrow barrel from an airsaber.

N/A  SE Wisconsin PCP

My apologies I live in Oak Creek. So Bristol is not too far at all! BAGA huh? They are air rifle specific? Just curious. I am also NOT in farm country hehe. All I know is I shouldn’t be showing up places un announced at a farm or I might be the one getting hunted ;).
BAGA is is the Badgerland Air Gun Association, strictly airguns although the Kenosha County Conservation Club is where they meet has shooting for many disciplines.

Taipan  Taipan Vet 2 700mm in .22 (Hype is real)

I’m not going hunting with my air guns , I may shoot competition.
I don’t think most of our air guns are going hunting. So why the dull
camo looks ? For me a nice walnut is tops, second being a brighter
colored laminate . Because of this only I am getting the Uragan over
the Veteran after I straighten out my present 5 rifles I’ve accumulated

FX  Changing Fx M4 from 22 to 30

I would try decreasing hammer spring tension with the micro adjuster a click at a time and check you fps. You probably have too much hammer spring tension, wasting air.
Stop when your fps slows, then slowly turn in valve adjuster ⅛ turn check fps, stop when it starts to drop.
If your fps is slower than you want you will have to increases reg pressure, then start the process all over.
I have have good accuracy with the H&N Heavy slugs from 930 to 1000fps.
970 to 975 gives me enough ftlbs for dispatching varmints.
You are spot on. I have dropped the regulator pressure to 140bar and then had to play with the hammer strength. I have reached a sweet spot velocity of 930-940 with a nice grouping. Not only that but also getting additional mag. You are a champ!

Events  Air Gun Oregon & Air Guns of Arizona Extreme Air Gun Challenge May 1-4

I had a fun time, and the match was much better run than last year. Room for improvement in the scoring, and in communication.

My results were good, but I could have done better in 100Y BR pellet and slug (5th in both). 2nd in the EFT GP was satisfying, especially having high score on day 2 (58/60) in drizzle and wind, plus winning the shoot off for 2nd against current ladies WFTF World Champion Lauren Parsons. Long Range was a disappointment due to a failure of the cocking assembly in my .25 Skout Evo slugger. I had a good run going and could have finished 1st or 2nd.

For those looking at the pellet scores and thinking “the top 5 were only 214 to 219”, you haven’t experienced wind like this. It makes the wind at EBR and RMAC look tame…. Not necessarily the strength of the wind, but directional changes, mostly shifting from over your left shoulder to over your right shoulder and back every couple seconds. Plus a vertical component that we rarely see…. 😳

O Ring sizer

Uhh ya I kinda thought that could go without saying... :) My friend Dwight (RIP) did his valve engineering using the valve stem sealing on the ID, most guys use the OD. He reasoned that A our flow requirement was very low, and B dimensions are more tightly held on the ID. He was very much a genius valve designer, Dwight's been in the ground for 30 years, his designs are being manufactured today.
