High FPS in 177 & not 22

What I’ve experienced in the last maybe four years has me done with painting them with a broad brush. Last year I was experimenting with a .25 FX pellet shooter for squirrel. Things were fine at 50 but horrible at 75 yards. Sped the gun up to slug speed and bingo, wound up with a 100 yard non 33.95 pellet gun for the season.

Crosman  Drop handle for flat charging

Here ya go!

That's what I was looking for! Firewalker you found it, I knew I'd seen them but couldn't find them now for the life of me. Much appreciated, I don't know if the dimensions are the same but I can figure that out with the ebay seller. Which I wouldn't have found without community help. Thank you very much.

bottle upgrade basics

My neighbor keeps asking when I'm putting the turret up on the roof.
I told him "when I buy the automatic"
Engineering a firing system for either auto or semiauto would not be all that difficult.
Probably could do it with 3 or 4 nema stepper motors and controls.
Print the linkages for the trigger.
Tying a vision system back to the stepper motor controls, Raspberry Pi and some custom code would probably work.
Reolink already does it with their security cameras so the tracking software exists.

But I'd want a belt feed for the rifle, changing mags on the roof would be a pain.
Don't laugh ! when i was working at a chain and transmission job , we were called out to a guys house (Chicago area ) . He wanted roller skate wheels so he could easily turn a turret on top of his house . we sold him 1000 roller skate wheels . when the deal was done and paid for we called the police as he had (EST.) more than 5 hundred guns loaded and sitting within easy reach everywhere we saw . Scary ! Metal shutters on all windows with gun slots cut in them .

Resources  What color are your targets

I hear what you are saying. It was great to meet you this weekend, hope to see you again next year.

X-Sight 4K Pro questions

Don’t blame you. For as pricey as the digital scopes are sink that same money into regular really good glass. You will be glad unless you really plan on shooting at night a lot. 400-700 dollar glass will blow digital out of the water in clarity.
Well...
I totally agree with you about clarity. Another hobby is photography and I understand about good glass. Right now I've got a reflex sight on the M4 and it's maybe one step up from iron sights. Still fun though as I have to be super steady with it.

However...

I'm particular about my reticle and I've not found one that I like. I've looked at $2k glass, very good scopes, but I didn't like the reticle. I like the center to be open with a single dot and, ideally, a ring around it or crosshairs emanating from it. Very hard to find a glass scope with that type of reticle.

Camera scopes usually have those reticles, and in several colors and brightnesses... plus several others to choose from.

So for now I'm going to stick with a camera, less clarity for sure though.

I've got a DNT ZULUS HD 5-20X Digital Night Vision Scope with Laser Rangefinder and Ballistic Calculator on order. I watched videos of this scope in action and they blew me away. You can laser your target and it will couple with your ballistic info and give you an immediate hold over on the reticle... that's impressive to me.

It could be more of a toy rather than a scope but it certainly will have a huge fun factor. ;)

Thanks for your reply.

Daystate Huntsman Revere or DNT TNC225R?

Would a regulated .25 cal Revere keep the shot string consistent vs the un-regualed model?
Thanks!
Jim
It does on mine. But!
Originally purchased gun as unregulated. Shots started at a low velocity and climbed to a max then reduced to the starting point. Lots of shots but varied over 150 psi from low to high. I didn’t like this and got a Huma reg with plenum and a gauge. Been in and out of gun setting and resetting reg a dozen time , hammer too. If you want to have a max of say 20 fps spread
the 25 only gets 10 good shots. This was all with 33.95g pellets. Thats me but after ordering did read on here DONT get the 25. Airguns of Arizona has all the parts to convert to a 22 but too much to spend on this gun.

Family day

So after several years of family upheaval, I managed to get over 15 people to my house yesterday, including some young uns. When they found out we could shoot out back, sevveral of them clamored for some range time, so we took out the k1, the gk1 in carbine, a 909s, and a wingshot 2.

They really like hitting steel spinners at 50 yards with the .22s, but I busted out that wingshot, we shoved some clay targets in the brush and stood back 15 yards and they blasted every single one of them, and the amazement on their face when the targets shattered was priceless. It made me remember how much fun this can be!

I hope everyone else had as much fun as we did, cheers!
Good times right there! good for you and goo for them.
