AEA  Is the AEA Challenger Buildup .357 too much for a first air rifle?

Truth be told, air use isn't a huge concern of mine. I understand a limited supply, but as long as I can throw 5 shots out, I'll be content. Right now we're lucky if we even shoot once per outing.
Overpowered fpe is another non-concern. This is rural area we're hunting. I would rather smear the grass with the mut than have him run off and get lost. Goal is to remove the population, not keep feeding them (and yes, they will absolutely eat their own dead, at least around here).
MrP, do you have any good resources for casting? I've never shied away from a little bit of work for a quality product! Homebrew takes weeks, I'm keen to dedicate a couple hours for some dead brush-dogs.

I just learned by reading people's comments on the forums here. I'm not a super technical caster - keep it very simple - but I have good luck with casting functional projectiles.

BSA  Really Gamo GX40

I have a Gamo Urban, a Coyote in 22Cal, a Coyote in 177Cal, and a BSA Buccaneer in 22Cal. I can verify the mags fit and feed in all of them. They are pretty much the same rifle, just in a different configuration. I have taken them all completely apart and everything is interchangeable.

Gamo unfortunately does not have a good reputation for supplying spare parts to the US or anywhere really. Pretty much the only things you can get is what you will find on sites like:

Thank you for that info, puts a little more leaning to the buccaneer if the GX-40 doesn't pan out. Or later when an appropriate amount of time has passed for a new rifle 😂. I did a little business with B & K when I was trying to get my Kral back to a functional state. They had some bits but apparently most Kral stuff is made of unobtainium. Although it's occurred to me the urban and the puncher breaker bear some similarities so maybe I can find that damned hammer screw yet.

HW/Weihrauch  Another 95 special

Sounds like you got the data right from the horse's mouth. Good stuff to remember. Thanks and Be Well Brothers, Bandito.
B sir, this is his CP number: 814 671 8636

Mrs. Denise M’s, his secretary : 814 823 2301

If you research about the gent you’d read stories about him not being the “easiest” to get in touch with. He’s been plating for more than 40 years though 👍

Your Thoughts on Tuxing compressors

I agree it's hard to beat a YH. Mine is over 3 years old and going strong. I only use it to fill my 45 minute Scott fireman's tank (yet another measurement). I think it's water volume is 6.8 liters and it holds about 66 cubic feet of air. With good oil and cooling and an extra moisture filter these things are work horses.

N/A  RAW pistol

Not sure, I have the RAW Micro with a Tatsu and it helped a ton. Outside its very quiet, inside its still quiet but obviously not as much. Made it backyard friendly. I know they are different but mine is an 8.5" barrel with a shroud.
So @Bramezy , how do you like that RAW pistol? How many shots are you getting from it? CF or aluminum tank? Do you have the .20 or .177, 12 or 20 foot lbs?

Know your quarry - Merlin Bird ID

I just picked up the app this morning. It surprised me as to how many birds I didn’t know were there. I’m a bird hunter, have been since is was a kid. Back then, sparrows were my main quarry because they ate so much grain from my dad’s birds. (Pheasants, peacocks, chickens, Canada geese, etc, We had a big exotic farm). Since I got back into culling birds, I decided I wanted weed out the riff raff as you will, to bring in some of those birds I knew were here, but were crowded out by the house sparrows and the like. Then came the war on starlings. And that war has been raging for 4 yrs now and I have a pretty good handle on that population with the help of two feed lots I shoot off of. Now it seems the red wing black birds are taking up that space. Any way, long story short, since I’ve started that culling, the amount of sparrow breeds other than house sparrows are outstanding. I’ve never seen a silver crown until last year, I didn’t even know there were three types of song sparrows and tree sparrows. And with this app, I found another species I never knew we had. Grass hopper sparrow, never knew it existed. So I can say I really like the app. It’s going to be a valuable tool going forward.
I need to find a feed lot that will let me shoot birds for them. I’d gladly bust out the tripod and slug slugs at winged rats all day. My personal favorite are the Collared Doves. The thwack they make and seeing the crop explode then I put a slug in them is very satisfying. The fact that I’m making farmers and native doves happy is the cherry on top….

I’m actually am going to use this app to expand my range. I can’t really tell a house sparrow from a lot of other L.B.B’s (little brown birds) so this will help me find more things to put on the shooting menu. I generally kinda like birds (except turkey and quail… I would demolish the local population with zero remorse if allowed haha) so I’m extremely cautious about which ones I’ll shoot.

N/A  History of Recoiless Air Pistols

I have a Beeman Original 6, one or the rebranded Diana models, two each FWB 65 and 80, a pair of IZH 46m, several of the Daisy 747 and 777 models and a HW 75. Everything mentioned after the FWB's is a SSP and therefore recoiless. Of the spring air types I like the FWB's best, not as bulky and heavy and just shoot better.
