Just a comment on SD and ES numbers, I agree that they are an excellent indicator of (power plant) performance but there are other factors (like harmonics) that determine overall performance. Look at the whole picture.

Ive been shooting air rifles since i was just a little guy but recently i picked up these two for good prices on Pyramyd air around christmas so ive been just digging deeper into it since and glad i did! Quality will always beat quality, but sometimes my wallet feels otherwise haha working with what i got! Next is shooting groups and just letting the gun tell me what it wants to get the tightest groups i can! trigger work, harmonics if needed, clean/maintained barrel and crown and the most important ME! every shot, the same breathing, movments, timing, trigger pull, rest etc.

Had to find this topic again to ease @blackdog899 mind even further. Was testing mods last night with a .30. Was jumping between 75 and 100 yards. Came back to 75 yards to test the one mod a final time. Squeezed the trigger and poof, complete darkness out there. I left my scope set for 100 and shot the light to pieces at 75. Done for the night. Repairs made this evening.

Nice job. It's too bad that the Saber Tactical mount doesn't fit on the M4.

Besides being an avid Airgun collector I also dabble in pocket knives and watches, all of which fall into this conversation. When it comes to quality in China, you choose whether or not you want something to be made cheaply or well. Your costs change accordingly this becomes very evident with pocket knives where you can get a Chinese pocket Knife for $10 which is a piece of junk or one for $500 which is made exquisitely.
Keep in mind that that same $500 Chinese knife would cost anywhere between 800 and $1200 if it was made in the US. Many of us in the US think that because it’s made in China it’s cheap and it’s junk. This is not the case. If you want something high-quality made in China they are very capable of doing so but it is reflected in the manufacturing price. A good example is the iPhone, it is made in China, but admittedly a very high-quality piece of engineering. You also have the additional cost of the vendor profit.
If the Hubens were made in the United States, they would be much more expensive. Keep in mind these guns are engineered to hold and work under 5000 psi of pressure. This takes tremendous skill, high-quality materials and very exacting standards. I have both the K-1 and the GK one and find that even though there are things that I would change or improve the quality of both is extremely high and they are both very reliable if used properly.
The days of everything from China being cheap junk are long over.

I also scrubbed the barrel which I usually don't do on airguns and then used a washer in the barrel band as suggested. It now shoots pellet on pellet at 10yrds! Can't wait for warmer weather so I can shoot longer distances. Now I'm going to tone it down a little to improve my shot count. Thanks guys!!!

One thing, I guess I did not mention. The barrel stripper also has an O-ring on it that fits into the ID of the shroud (#9 in PL). Make sure that is a good fit and in place on the stripper. If the O-ring is a sloppy fit on the ID the barrel and shroud may not stay consistently aligned.

Completely true! I think I am alone in our province that wants WRABF rules to be enforced. All the rest want tailored games suited for whatever equipment and ammo they have.

Anyway, I foresee a better future since shooters (in our province and region) slowly opening their eyes and minds to world standard competition but it will take some time. For the meantime I’me stuck with their rules except for BR25 HV using WRABF rules.

Last week I was just in deep dive with firelapping my 6 liners and toke me a lifetime to finish the entire polishing process on these . This excercise a money cannot buy...
What I learned that the land-groove ratio is playing rough games with speeds and ES/SD. Because each can have their own loose or tight spots - independently.
Adding to the drama - the choke amount.
And I don't want to forget about HN or FX or ZAN lead compound - softer or harder.
So in my eyes - if you would push in a slug but half way only, and retract back, a couple from each Brand,
and measure with micrometer...
compare a blank slug with one that you recovered back from the barrel,
that can give some better answers.
Also a high power jewellery lupe for closer look on shiny faces will give some insights.

I have a 25 cal taipan vet compact shooting about 45 fpe. Always one shot and done headshots at 35yds. I make a kissing noise and they look at me without moving for about 3-5 seconds. Gives you plenty of time to line up a good shot. I imagine a X from ears to eyes and aim at the center of the X if that makes sense. Helps if they are looking down slightly. I also find that domed pellets penetrate the skull best.

In my continued hot take on the subject I think it can be said that at greater distances (l
& leaving out external effects like wind, temp, etc) ballistic flaws will probably become more apparent.

My personal experience w this was w a bullet that looked great at 10, but was tumbling at 50. The slug was too small for the bore...pretty simple explanation even for my tiny brain.

6.5-20 x 40...................no hold over reticle. Parallax range 10 yards to infinity. Target turrets. It is an excellent scope.

The first 3- 5 are the best usable pressure range from 4500 - 3000

I'm curious what the precision capability is at say 20 yards using lead BB's in your gun??

The outfit in UT replaced my 2-3 year Continental 5-30 because it had something wrong with the tracking staying correct, a thing that got progressively worse over time. That was a year ago. At least they honored the warranty.

For my general o'ring usage i buy those 3000+ o'ring sets and several of the smaller specialized sets from AliExpress. In the last year or so I've had to order 2 different o'rings 3mm and 7.5mm. Everything else I find in one of the kits.
