Older Airforce Tanks with no Gauge

You could upgrade to the new spin lock valve, by calling AF . The newer valves will let you enjoy better the gun because they are more easily tune .. they will sell you the parts need to install the new valve + they sell you the valve only to ..
I bought the adapter from Trajectron. Then I watched the video. Not drilling holes in the gun.

I have some experiments coming.
Huben Power Z regulator, Trajectron angled adapter and a 1.1L Fat Acecare CF Tank.

High flow valve, Huben Power Ath-MAX universal and 0.5l CF tank.

Then I can run 4500psi in the tank.

Heavy spring, 70 and 90 gram hammers from Trajectron. The hammers are on sale for $18.

I will probably mix and match the parts to see what works best.

May end up having a custom but plate for the 1.1L made too.

Air Venturi  Avenge-X pressure gage reinsertion?

Mike,
When re-installing gauges I hand thread till contact with seal, then wrench 1/4 to 1/2 turn more, aligning gauge face to gun within that range, if possible.. After airing up and soapy water spray test reveals leak, I'll tighten to stop leak. WM
Sounds good, thank you!!

Umarex  Umarex zelos o ring help

I recently purchased a Zelos and while I don't have any experience with aftermarket regs or bottles I can share a way I found to avoid blowing the hot-swap o-ring.

When taking the bottle/cylinder off I only unscrew it one full turn, then I degas the rifle using the degas screw. Once the rifle has been degassed I will finish unscrewing the cylinder. That's it.

What was blowing my hot-swap o-ring was the pressure held in the plenum and valve and a full turn on the cylinder was enough to disengage the main air reservoir allowing me to degas the gun without degassing the whole cylinder. Hopefully this helps save some o-rings!

*edit* a full turn is what worked for me, if you're trying this yourself then you may find you can get away with less or need more. Keep an eye on your cylinder gauge to see if it's also losing air while degassing to know whether the cylinder is disengaged or not.

EDgun  Considering a new purchase of Edgun Leishy2 350mm .22cal- please share your experience with the gun!

the Dreamline looks like a nice gun as well. Different style gun. You're the only one who can choose your preferences. Ideally you'd just get both of course 😂
You can easily change the caliber of the L2. But I'd be surprised if you'd do that all the time. Every time you need to rezero, change your reg settings, ... So probably you'll find a good tune in your preferred caliber and stick to that one.

Diana  Burnishing with Scotch-Brite

The maroon pads can be used to touch up an actual hone and produce a terrific surface finish. It will cut less aggressively and flush a bit better if done wet. Messy, but mineral oil, spirits, kerosene, or even good old WD-40 would be my preference over running dry. Also the pads shed fibers like mad, so be sure to clean very well after.

HW/Weihrauch  Weihrauch open sights, what is this?

Could mod them a bit if you ever needed to replace a lost hood... Save them.
I mounted one of those on my Bluestreak back in the day. I cut the grooves with a Dremel cut off wheel. Made a real mess of it, and eventually lost that hood.
I wound up replacing my front sight, which is why my 70's Bluestreak has a 50's Bluestreak front sight on it. 👍

Air rifle from canada

I wanted to get myself a Leshy Classic (from USA to Canada). A factory built in moderator made it "Prohibited" by the books.
I asked the border police if I will remove the shroud core can I bring it like that? No, because they look at the picture and read the manufacturer specs, and it says right there...
The other conflicting item was a PP750, by the specs it is a sub 500 pistol with an extendable but stock. I designed a larger plenum for it and we manufactured couple batches for Wes (specifically for he's US customers only). Could not sell with higher power in Canada because becomes "Restricted" and need a firearm license. I said OK I will replace the barrel to longer one and use it as a carbine... they said NO, the manufacturer fabricate it as a sub 500 pistol and stays as a pistol no matter what you do ....
So yes, everywhere there are some roadblocks. You can play by the books or you can try your luck ;)

Occam’s Razor and puttering in the cold winter shop

Looks like good progress. Will be paying attention for sure. Still don't hardly have time to get in my shop. Partial retirement might be coming after I turn 66 next December. People I do work for don't want me to stop. I keep my shop tempered with dry electric heat but it's 9 degrees out this evening and dipping to 5 overnight so my heat ain't doing much.
1 * here. I went to weld some proto type work and ran my salamander Ram out of lp … it’s not worth arguing with ma nature

RAW Rapid  Raw HM1000x early model

There are two cavities that make up the plenum space.
the cad photo illustrates them.

The lower longer cavity that the reg threads into.
And the middle cavity that also dbl’s as the valve return spring and plug.

Early hmx were drilled at .591” (roughly 18cc)
Newer were drilled at .75” (roughly 29cc)
The current ones are machined a little differently they removed the blanking plug and I hear they made some slight gains in volume. I’ve never seen one. So I can’t speak to that.

My math is calculated with a huma reg, it has a smaller body.
And doesn’t take into considering what volume the valve spring and stem take up.

Question for Airgun Enthusiasts

I think expectations are to high for air guns ! Expecting an air gun to shoot single ragged hole accuracy at 100 yards right out of the box is absurd .
For single hole accuracy i shoot Olympic rated guns @ Olympic target distances .
I dunno, if I were to actually plunk down a couple grand on something as unnecessary as a airgun I guess I'd expect to be wowed a bit.

Even the less expensive guns seem overpriced in relationship to most firearms (IMO) and generally come w more headaches out of the box.

TBF tho, I'd expect far less from any 'Amazon' purchases. It's all relative.

But at the end of the day, it's just a first world problems that we tend to commiserate on here.

Satisfying cheapie target.

We put self tapping screws into empty 12g CO2 cartridges, and then using a little steel wire tied that to a horizontal beam they would spin around.

Our .22 2012 FX air rifles eventually chewed a hole in those CO2 bottles, and often before the steel wire gave way, which i think is kind of amazing.
Like this :)

Hatsan  WHAT thread is the pressure gauge socket on the Hatsan H class tubes.

Best I could come up with is a male to male m16-1.0 to NPT
Then you would need NPT male to female
Which makes for an ugly hook up.
Plus I don't know the pressure rating for the adapter...

-- Matt
Thanks budro, but i'm a tard, the "1/8bsp" i thought i was trying was an NPT. the BSP fits inside the adapter bushing. Just need to order a new one. But man, Hatsan with those H-Class and AT44/BullBoss/Trophy tubes and their stupid monster thread gauges you cant source ANYWHERE else. Thanks any way bro man.

TBH, better than what i was using.. The only BSP fitting i had was a male foster QD, which i had hooked to a female with an NPT female thread on the other side, with an NPT gauge... LOL. Function over fashion, so you can understand why i want the proper gauge.
