Karma  Which optic are you running on this?

@Michael consider the Primary Arms SLX 3X or 5X MicroPrism with the Griffin X Mill or Aroura MIL reticles. Light and heavy duty, they rival the Element in that and not having to be fiddling with parallax at longer yardages. My 3X becomes parallax free and focus is clear at 20 yards (the only "issue" some might have if shooting close range and not having the eye centered or wanting to count the eyelashes on a chipper at 10 yards.

Good choice. I've also got a similar Hawke 4x and 6x prism with BDC reticles. Great for mid-range work

Let's see those air tanks/ Bottles and carrier's please.

That guy was me 😁 the biggest tank is not commercially available, it's an aircraft control cylinder. 1150ci (216 cf) and 3400psi, essentially a super light "k" cylinder for capacity. 92 ci buddy bottles are the smallest. Free 88cf scuba, Scott 70ish cf, 88 cf msa 97 cf great white.

I can tether to the monster 3400psi with my buddy and bench shoot slugs with a 70 and 55 fpe all day with a reg and splitter manifold till it gets to 150 bar reg setting on the guns.

I fill with a 1 L/m tuxing 4 cylinder dive clone.

Other  New to PCP rifles need help :)

Well, if y'all aren't confused now you will be by the time this thread finishes. There is a fan for every airgun out there and they are all happy to tell you why they are a fan.
Best thing to do is give as much info on your intended use and budget. Also consider how you plan to fill the gun.
As the caliber increases so does the price per unit. There is also the availability of the ammo of choice.
Whether or not the gun is pellet/slug friendly would be one of the things on my criterial list. That gives you options on what and where to buy.

RAW Rapid  My new RAW!

It is remarkably accurate and consistent, and the custom stocks that Martin makes are the icing on the Cake so to speak. The only issue to date has been the operator 🤣
I hear ( in Jest generally ) I'm cheating when shooting the RAW .20 & typically respond you need to get yourself one !!! Several FT club shooters actually have, or had there other caliber RAWs converted to the caliber

100 yards and beyond…?

Just because you can does not mean you should. I grew up using rimfire and center fire options but not possible anywhere I have lived in modern times (rightfully so). Airguns are more challenging to be effective but effective they can be. After several years of using only airguns I recently had a chance to utilize my PBers in an open rural area. It was way too easy. I think airgun use has actually improved my PBing shooting skills? Under a hundred yards they are comparable. Over a hundred yards there really is no comparison IMHO. I shot my friends Browning Creedmore and must say there is no comparison at 200+ yards. None. But, the challange of our long range airguns sure is fun :)
I strongly agree with pcps being more of a challenge and that's why I am pull to them. When I was working for Uncle Sam, I was lucky enough to pick up how to become a good shot quickly. I was qualified for a number of weapons but, I have never been challenged as much as I have with a pcp at long range. I love a challenge. I no longer have PBs for hunting, I hunt coyote, racoons and woodchucks at long distances 75-200 yards with a 150gr slug so I see no need to hunt with a PBs that have 2800- 4000 fps and the worries of a clean pass thru. I don't judge others who choose to.

N/A  Head Shot

It was windy. An inch one way or the other. Miserable shooting weather past 25 yards.

It calmed down to nothing and suddenly I was hitting them in the body almost every shot. I got so happy I told my buddy I was going for a head shot. Hit that rascal right in the eye!

Missed the next 15 shots trying to do it again....
I found that the wind here often changes directions, and there’s often a lul between the shifts where I can get 1 or 2 straight aim hits.
Its very noticeable at 75-yards.

Daisy  I was gifted 2 air pistols, a Beeman 800 and a Daisy 717. I need some help please.

well, the 3D printed sight body is worthless without the top and windage clip
so, i have had the misfortune to take a sight apart and i would say it is impossible to save the clip it has to be cut off and to get to it, the broken upper sight has to be cut away, so the base is useless

FWB  FWB velocity troubles.

a FWB 65 should shoot in the high 4's to a little over 500 FPS
the internal buffer will not hurt FPS but the breech seal could so what is the color of the cone breech seal
and the piston seal is metal like a car piston for sealing now if the pistol was rebuilt by someone that over lubed the cylinder that could not help

Upgrades avenge x .25

I've also been doing some looking into the power plenum for the Avenge-X.
As I understand it the concept of a larger plenum provides potential for tuning to a lower regulated pressure with less hammer spring, resulting in the same FPS for a given pellet. I'm a newbie to this sport but I gather that decreased hammer spring also means cocking effort is less, making things smoother to stay on target between shots. There is also the claim of increased regulated shots for the same given pellet or slug shooting to the same distance. Additionally, there is a forum in the UK with a claim to a calculator, although I have not yet been successful in recreating the math in my own spreadsheet. His calc for the energy stored in 1cc of compressed air @22 degC @Reservoir max pressure has stumped me.

I found 3 power plenums on the market:
One from SA Air (https://saairrifles.co.za/product-tag/air-venturi-avenge-x-plenum/)
One from an ebay seller (https://www.ebay.com/itm/405549486165)
A couple from another ebay seller (https://www.ebay.com/str/alienairgunsandbargains)
Then there is this video from Badger Air Sport, (

Raccoon Down

Close to 60 years ago I occasionally got to go "coon hunting" with my uncle near the town of Burlington Kansas. The mothers hated it, the kids (including me) loved it. My uncle tried to be sure everybody had a flashlight but only he or another uncle had a firearm (and nobody had a pellet gun). I don't think we ever got a raccoon when I was there but we got a few possums. My uncle did not always kill them but sometime he did, he said it kept the dogs interested. We would go running through the woods when the dogs barked "treed" trying to get to that tree before the raccoon jumped out of the tree and started running again. We fell in creeks, got tangled up in fences, and fell in creeks. Fun stuff.

Congratulations on a big one!

Hawke reticle subtension measurements

Just wanted to follow up on this thread after some back and forth with Hawke support.

I started by asking for the same info as in my original post in this thread.

Hawke responded by saying they have "complete" subtension drawings on the individual product pages, under More Reticle Information. They also said the thin crosshairs on their reticles are "about .20 MOA thick".

I pointed out that the subtension drawings I had seen were not consistent as far as which measurements were listed. Some had no measurements listed for the thin crosshairs, while several FFP scopes listed .18, .14, or .11 MOA for their thin crosshairs.

Hawke clarified that "only SFP scopes had thin crosshairs measuring .20 MOA @ 10x (equivalent to .22 MOA @ 9x), and that FFP models may have different measurements, including certain info that may be proprietary and not published". They also attempted to upsell me on the Vantage 30 WA FFP 4-16x50, which, shocker, does not list thin reticle measurements. 🤷‍♂️😹

I'm not sure how much truth there is to the proprietary info claim. My gut tells me the support rep was just not very motivated to compile measurement info that was missing from their site.

At any rate, I'm throwing in the towel for now. If Hawke gets around to publishing the data I'm looking for by the time my airgun optics needs go beyond back yard pesting, maybe I'll consider them again. Otherwise, I'll probably look elsewhere.
@rockfish4175 Thats disappointing. I genuinely thought you’d get a better response from someon at Hawke.
