BB Gun Barrel manufacturer

Thanks for the tip. I thought about them, but didn't think they would sell to the general public, so never really considered them. I'll have to try and contact someone there. Thanks again!
You need to email them what you want, and then they will reply via email with a quote. It's pretty quick and easy to work with them. I ordered 2 barrels from them last year.

Good luck!

Airgun Technologies  Airgun Technology Magazine

I was recently looking at 3d printers but myself being an old curmudgeon i wave no idea about the technology or the process. Trying to figure out what would work best for me is difficult as i have no idea even on the verbology they use to describe the products lol....i guess that why people pay other people to make stuff lol but my stuborness will keep looking into it. As a vulcan 3hp .30 owner the intrest is there for me for larger and or deeper mags. Even like a slide shot or single shot mag would be nice if it allowed max length slugs

Tuning  Tuning regulator - can you have a reg set too low?

Yes, there's a bit of truth to that, but a barrel/pellet combo will, in most cases, yield several "ideal" tunes. Think of tunes as ranges of fpe or velocity. The harmonics of a barrel, for instance, can be on several nodes, it's not just one single node that magically works. kind of like a sine wave when it hits zero, there are several zeros along the time line.
I don't dispute your assertion of multiple accuracy nodes. It's just that I've never encountered such nodes.

I have an Impact for pellets, a Panthera for slugs, and I'm currently having fun gathering data with a Benjamin Kratos. Althought the Kratos is not pressure regulated, it has a valve in the transfer system that regulates mass airflow into the chamber. The valve allows for tuning at different maximum muzzle energy levels. Future testing will include looking for multiple accuracy nodes.

FX  Unofficial "Affidavit" of accuracy. Let's call it "Personal Statement".

After many years shooting air rifles and having spent much more money in PCP's that I would ever thought, at this moment I have the opportunity of shooting with PCP'S of diverse makers.

I have confirmed that achieving accuracy with a rifle is a combination of many aspects, including, among others: the rifle (as a mix of many parts); the ammo; the scope; and the control you can achieve handling an specific rifle with specific ammo and then scope (PCP Package).

Therefore, someone can achieve better accuracy with specific "PCP package" and some other one with a diverse "PCP package".

I have confirmed that notwithstanding I am able to achieve 'good' accuracy with Airgun Technology rifles, with the FX Panthera Compact, with the Daystates......

But....

My personal best achievement in terms of accuracy at my farther away target (132 yards) is, doubtless and confirmed with:

******* FX DRS 600mm super powerful plenum and NSA .217 Cal 24.8 grain slugs.*******

I just have two cons in regard of the DRS:

1.- This rifle gives, uncomfortably, very few shots per fill (just 28 at 50 fpe); and

2.- Original magazine has very bad quality.... But fortunately, Eaglevision makes a superb magazine for that rifle.

That's it !
Pictures or it didn’t happen! 😝

Just kidding,

Yeah, the OEM magazine is difficult to operate. I haven’t tried Eagle Vision mags yet, but I’m a HUGE fan of @StudLoadingSolutions and their speed loaders. He’s sending me a prototype for the DRS next week 🙏🏻

Diana  Please help, not sure which direction and how best to replace Diana 6/Beeman 6 seals

thank you both so much. i was able to install to install both seal with minimal effort employing your technique.
I'm worn now. I can only work a few hours at most a day.
fingers crossed i can put this big bag of parts back together....a bit frightening but looking forward to it in the coming days.

HW/Weihrauch  HW30 progress

This one started as an R8 pattern but I made the forearm deeper. Fits my Hw50 too. Inletting has to be finished first. Then final shaping

I have some Pachmayr pads but have been looking at other brands. I’m moving away from white spacers. Will consider a black grip cap.
Your FWB124 stock is very nice but I found they don’t fit my ape paws well. Same for Corcoran. The curve at the bottom impinges on my pinky. Probably because my Frankenstein paws are so wide.
If thy pinky offends you, cut if off!

Calling all pcp nerds: Torque Wrenches

I posted this earlier this year on a range tool thread. My range bag has at least one of these sets in the bag, along with the FAT wrench if I’m going to be working with scope mounts.

Crosman  1720T ?

I have a 1720, 1701 and prod. All with the same foster fill nipple. I've had to do this a few times. Easy fix. Bleed air from gun and remove the fill fitting by unscrewing from the air tube. It's only 2 pieces. 3 if you count the o-ring. Remove the inner check valve by pushing it out of the body. It slides in and out of the body and it's not threaded as it might seem. Clean the inner portion of the body with a q-tip as well as whiping off the check valve and o-ring. Lube with some silicon oil, reassemble, fill with air and off you go.

Odd. Shipping is crazy expensive these days indeed but I ran a WA address on the (used) trail xl and got:
  • USPS - United States 1: $67.30
or, Ground Advantage™: $37.55 ("advantage" LOL)
Which sounds about average.
John
Maybe it was my VPN that was messing things up, but it shouldn’t have since I had entered my actual shipping address as a part of the ordering process.

HW/Weihrauch  Plug Screw Availability

Hey KSK,
In hindsight, I may have misread the Ace box top containing the gun screws sizes (Edit 8-40 & 10-32 see pic below).

I simply measured the only slotted, pancake screws in the Gun Smith screw box.
The 5 mm screw replacements screws measured .182” (5mm=.196”), while the 4 mm hole was filled with a pancake screw measuring .156”.

Now the screws don’t look perfect, like in MDriskills pics, but they look better than almost all other fixes 🎯🚀.

I did all (9) my HW’s today 🙂🌈.

Where to find??

Gerry52 hit the nail on the head. O-rings require 2 dimensions the inside diameter and the cross section. All O-rings are listed and stocked on these two dimensions. KISS does still apply, if we specify the ID and the cross section the OD is redundant. There are a couple more things we need to know beyond the two critical dimensions.
Compound: Most O-rings are Buna-N, also known as Neoprene.
Durometer: The "hardness" of the O-ring compound. O-rings for high pressure applications may be "harder" to resist extrusion.
There are right about one zillion O-ring compounds :) hyperbole alert but there are actually thousands of different O-ring compounds. For our airgun purposes the vast majority will be Buna N.
IMO I would rather pay double or triple the price for the O-rings from the gun manufacturer, just to assure those couple of other specs are correct. Double the price on an O-ring might make it a dime rather than a nickel.

west of Austin TX FT type events and more

You missed the Houston Area Field Target Association that operated in the early 90's and had events with good numbers as far as participants go. My place was the location of Central Texas Airgun Club events in its early days. The range is completely different since then. Those lanes are not even in use anymore. The facility has expanded. This is an independent group, and not affiliated with AAFTA.

FX  Impact x

Good on ya!

At the end of last summer I was working on a tune to have my rifle shoot heavy pellets and lighter slugs. Got to say that a whole lot of air and lead was pushed through that gun barrel before several seals and the regulator failed. I must admit the tuning process though tedious is very interesting: working to get all the parts and pieces working together just so. . . .
