Acecare 300 bar carbon fiber tank, what valve?

I have 2 (1.6L (non-acecare) and 4.7L acecare) tanks and they both have the valve in the first option (in the image you posted, which has the middle one selected) and they have been perfect. I like this valve because it provides a Foster (male side) fitting with a built in check valve that makes filling the tank so much easier as your compressor usually comes with the female side of the Foster fitting to connect with. The check valve helps insure that the air doesn't rush back out of your tank when you relieve the pressure to disconnect.

So, I think the valve to get is the one you think best as they at least 2 of them seem solid.

Crosman  CROSMAN 150

I was going for a Ted Williams vibe, shame I can't get the vented rib...

Cool as the Ted Williams ventilated-rib variants are, your PRISTINE 150 is a lovely representation of Crosman 150/157 function and aesthetics, Modski. And I find the one-piece grips MUCH more comfortable and natural feeling than the two-piece 150 grips. Your 157 is beautiful.

N/A  Slug / Pellet Concentricity

I cannot recall where I’ve seen it but there is a video out in the “Inter Webs” showing a devise that someone cobbled together. It has two rollers side by side and a pellet would sit on top between the rollers. As the rollers turned they would spin the pellet and you could inspect the pellet for run-out.
Kenny

A bit late seeing this but the doodad you are thinking of is the "Joker Vario" by Lottes Sport+Technik based in Germany. They are a wonderful bit of kit. Uesd to have a concentricity dial gauge linked up to it but the newer iteration links with a digital microscope instead. Not something you would want to run every pellet through but once you have sorted for head size and weight, it is worth using as a final check on the pellets that are your choice for competition. Amazed, given the badwidth given to head size and weight, that there is not more conversation about the symetry of a pellet.

Extended GX-CS4 fills.

...or I can avoid another point of potential failure and more cost, and purge the water trap as explained. Yes a one way valve is an option, but why?

The back pressure would come from the release of pressure at the purge and the premature opening of the bottle valve, hence why I let the pressure in the fill whip build to nearly what the tank pressure is.
I can open my tank valve before even starting compressor. Once fill whip pressurizes it overcomes check valve resistance & fills tank. Imho it simplifies things by removing the need for another step.

AirMaks Arms  Krait X .22 - Valve setting

Hello, any news on tuning your valve?
What numbers are you getting with Krait?

I recently got Krait L HP .22 and I’m also trying to figure out the best possible tune for slugs (21-34gr is my preferred weight)
At the moment I don’t have better pic than this, but it’s good enough to see that my valve is screwed in significantly more than yours.
I’m using H&N HPII .217 25gr slugs and with reg @135b they fly 931fps.
ZAN .218 20gr with the same reg pressure - 994fps
Hammer is really close to its lock position.
Hope this helps.
Stay sharp,
S.

I have finished tuning the valve close to you. H&N 30gr 935fps - reg 130bar but it's Krait X. I won't show you the pictures because I recently changed the equipment and sold it.

Topping off at high pressure.

I would not suggest anybody start their compressor with the bleed valve closed but actually on a gun fill or any situation where there is no pressure in the line, it isn't going to hurt anything by closing the bleed valve before startup. The goal is for the compressor to not see any pressure at startup. That goal is met. But it would be a bad habit to get into. If you were to do this filling a bottle (without a one way valve in the line) it could make your compressor inoperable. Damage it. Even one time.

So the right habit is to close the bleed valve after the compressor starts and open it before turning the compressor off. Starts and stops should not be against pressure. Nothing to be gained closing the bleed valve early.

The Tex-Rex .510 is now available!

Numbers at bottom if you want to skip the commentary.....
Okay so after the tex rex carbine .510 dropped I had to get one to play with and in spite of not being an airforce fan boy the numbers caught my attention as a versatile hunter for deer, pigs, rams or even yotes based on the numbers claimed in a short, light platform.
In the past i owned a .510 tx2 carbon full length and it was to long and i found it hit about 800fpe with 800g slugs but they were to loopy for ethical distance ......continued after pics....

hunting for me and with light slugs I couldnt get it to pick up efficiency on speed for a flatter shot either.
The tex rex carbine promised plenty of power for whitetail on low with 4-5 shots and I was not perticularly interested in 2 high power shots anyway with excess power. At 7.25lbs and 39" I can pack that all day on a sling in the woods so I ordered up rings and a leupold vx freedom 1.5-4 lightweight lpvo.
Finally got time to test it today and threw a 3 moa hawk red dot on it to get some chrony numbers. I am impressed right off, I can tell Airforce knocked this out of the park it looks like. Bottle feels tough! More testing later but this was to get a feel for the low power settings. The 2 groups were all together at 22yds but this was every different slug no real group testing as I will do that later. The hole I pointed to was my aim point first group of all different slugs. The pic at bottom is a chrony read for a 4500psi fill 7 shot string on the one fill with a 470g. Still north of 500fpe last shot.

No bias port (low power) first test no cleaning
305g flatheads and aea 304g shot 995fps at 4k psi
390g flatheads shot 901fps on 4k psi
350 wrath shot 943fps on 4k psi
470g bthp shot 837fps on 4k psi
595g fh shot 757 on 4k psi

Chasser 177

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Chaser. That’s just what I was looking for. I probably would be looking at .177 and maybe even tuning down for more shots. I was leaning more toward a Crosman 2240 type carbine at first but the Chaser also sounds like it could serve the same purpose. I also do really like Buck Rail products. Thanks again,
Kenny
I just shot my stock .22 Chaser today (see pic above). Using RWS 11.9 gr Hobby pellets I was getting 40 shots with a high of 571 fps and low of 520 which is when I pulled the cartridge out. Probably 25 shots between 550 and 560 fps. And It was only 72 F outside! When it hits the 80's & 90's performance goes up. These things are a great bang for the buck. Yes, the trigger is a little crunchy, but it's consistent.

GX CS4 Pressure Problem

My CS4 was working fine last time I used it about a year and a half ago, has maybe 6 hours on it. I just fired it up again after changing the coolant and cleaning the check valve. It's getting to about 200 bar and stalling out. If i don't hit the off button in time it's shutting off the 12V power supply as well. After I release the pressure and plug the remote power supply back in it runs fine again until 200 bar. I thought maybe it's overheating but the water flow looks good and the fan is on while it's running. any ideas? thanks, Rich
A friend had a similar problem with his CS4-i. GX first sent a replacement power supply but the problem persisted. GX then sent a replacement internal circuit board and now all is good.

DeSoto Airgunner FT (Arcadia, FL) Match Report April 13, 2025
Posted by Gary P. for our match director, Ron Z.

Conditions were superb for another Field Target Club Match in southwest Florida. - A cool morning during set-up, with the Sun warming us to shirt-sleeves by late morning. Low humidity, mostly calm winds just a few puffs. Eleven competitors arrived early to assist with the 8 lane course set-up.

Ron G achieved today's Top Gun recognition with an event high score of 40 points. No Troyer Difficulty was calculated but several participants commented on course difficulty. Match Director Ron Z confirmed some lanes presented an elevated challenge with an array of smallish Hit Zone targets. No shooter cleaned either the kneeling or the standing lane today.

Our next club match (May 11) is (likely) the last Field Target event at DeSoto Airgunners before we begin the 2025 Summer Swelter Benchrest Series.

I don't like these skunks either

I have shot them in the past. Twice it smelled up the backyard. Once it was so bad neighbors over 200' away at 2am start looking out the window wondering where the smell is coming from. My wife was so pissed she was mad for more then a week! I don't want to risk a sink bomb. Shooting it is the easy part. Ensuring 100% that is doesn't spray is the hard part. Even if I get luckly going for a heart/lung shot, I would have to search around the bushes trying to find the body before it decays and stinks up the neighborhood.
sounds like you risked being single.. over a stinking skunk..I sure detest them.. have only seen one here, dog killed it and the dog was skunked.. probably figured I'm already stinky so I might as well get even..
I just wish they would either keep the stink in and stay away or just stay away and not exist.
you guys shooting them are brave, it's what I would do from a distance if I saw them.. and those of you who trap?? yes you are beyond brave.. fearless.. bold heroes 💪 👍

How to clean lenses inside Anschütz Adjustable Front Iris?

I spent the better part of my evening poking and prodding at that kajigger.

The front shooter side has a plastic cover. Behind that is some sort of locking ring that seems like it is glued in place. Then the body has some sort of clips which hold the front lens to the dial.

The muzzle side has a big thin little locking spring ring that comes out really easy with a needle. Then the muzzle lens floats but is still attached to the other lens via the iris.

Failing dissasembly, I attempted different soaks to get results. Used a hair dryer to attempt a spot free clean.

Rubbing alcohol was worthless. Very smudgy when dried.

Dish soap and water worked to get it about to where it was before the alcohol.

Vinegar and water was a bust. It stripped the finish off the lock ring and internal body. Left a permanent smudge on the inner lenses.

I’ve order some centra high ends in the sizes I used most, to replace this AHG adjustable. I will not use a lens mechanism which I cannot disassemble and clean. Such a bad design. Will not support disposal culture.
