Not good news to hear these are getting hard to find.

I have recently adopted this procedure as well. While I’ve never had an accident with an air rifle (notice I included “air” in my descriptionWhen shooting a springer I always break the barrel, load a pellet then fully cock the gun. Mark
I don’t get pick what day I get to shoot in according to the weather. If there’s a match and I’m off work, I’m going no matter what the weather is like.I usually do not shoot in 20 MPH and gusts , guess i will have to try some days like that .
Thanks. I didn’t know about the leaks. Also, the angled accessory has had issues with leaks and “fitting” properly in a carry case……expensive way to see your guage!
Yes!!! Thanks for answering the call Doug. Your mags/feeders/loaders let me enjoy shooting so much more. The industry’s leading aftermarket airgun accessory provider delivers a game-changing solution for FX DRS magazine loading.
STUD, the largest aftermarket supplier of premium airgun loading systems, is proud to announce the release of its new FX DRS Magazine, Feeder, and Loader system. This complete solution is purpose-built to address one of the most persistent complaints from the airgun community: the difficult and awkward loading process of factory FX DRS magazines.
Developed in direct response to user feedback, the STUD system completely reimagines the loading experience. The newly designed STUD magazine features a proprietary magnetic lid, offering quick removal and full access to the front of the magazine—eliminating the obstructions caused by the factory’s rotating locking mechanism. As with all STUD magazines, it also includes a precision roller bearing for smooth rotor rotation and accurate pellet-to-barrel alignment.
For maximum convenience, STUD’s industry-leading Feeder and Loader are available as part of a bundled system. This streamlined setup allows users to sort pellets using the Feeder, transfer them into one of four included Loaders, and quickly fill magazines with minimal handling—ensuring speed, consistency, and cleaner loading.
“This system was built in direct response to what our customers told us they needed,” said Doug Hepler, CEO at STUD. “It eliminates the frustrations of the factory design and delivers a fast, precise, and hassle-free loading experience. We believe it sets a new standard for FX DRS users.”
The STUD FX DRS Magazine/Feeder/Loader bundle is now available for purchase via STUD’s official website and authorized distributors.

@thammer you said “barrel.” I misread what you wrote. Apologies.I'm gonna add a full shroud to it but there will be no barrel band
I like the pvc idea alot wish there was a thinner pvc like 3" plastic electric conduit piping or somethingThe new 8-shot repeating Redback airbow by FX has a regulator and the typical FX smart tune controls.
So the power on that one, unlike (most/all?) other dedicated airbows, can be adjusted from lower, quieter ~7fpe up to a very loud 100+fpe.
A different approach would be to use Air Venturi Air Bolts in an adjustable power, large bore air rifle. There again, the sound level can only be lowered by lowering the power level. At least the vanes on the bolts wouldn't pass through a regular moderator.
The FX Redback mentioned above uses vaneless bolts. So in theory those could be fired through a regular ~.35 cal moderator.
But the 8-shot barrel carrier on the Redback rotates a new barrel into position with each shot.
A 3" ID PVC tube fits snugly over the front of the Redback and could be used to make a simple and modestly effective shroud since there aren't any vanes on those bolts. Gogun.co has a shorter version of the FX Redback (maybe 32" long?) which shoots 12" vaneless bolts up to about 80fpe. It is more than loud enough to startle an animal on the 1st shot so I'm not sure if anyone would actually use all 8 shots in a hunting situation. Gogun markets their products for general use in firearm restricted areas. I don't know offhand if other airbow models use vaneless bolts which could be easily moderated with a simple shroud.

Yes sir. I use that video every time I take it apart. It was a life saver. Just wish I listened closer to the part about stripping the screws. Expensive mistake but made a point and I won’t do it again. My main part of this question was about the innards of the tube. But it was an easy swap. But I did also have to replace the power wheel also as it got stuck. Many lessons learned.Airforce Texan, Texan SS or Texan LSS hammer spring install and trigger reset
These two groups were with Zan 28gr HP slugs out of my EVO today at 870fps and at 100Y. Wind was 4-7 mph from 10 oclock. A tad over and inch but vertical was pretty good. I have the 15.75" twist with 25" LW barrel.I see posts with the 25” Lother Walther barrel shooting Altaros slugs well. Curious what slugs guys are using for shooting critters with?
Don't feel too bad, tho mine wasn't as expensive, I felt pretty damn dumb at 1 point too. I have an Accutac Bipod that somehow I lost the damn screw that locks in the pan function. While cleaning out the back of my truck 1 day, i ran across a small bag of screws and washers left over from a project a couple of years ago and thought,.....no f'ing way will this fit my bipod. Low and behold it was the exact same size AND length I needed all along...(about 7 months)......needless to say, I'm happier than a pig in.....well you know! LolSoo,in my other thread about my fx m3 and the stripped power block hole that made me disgusted and I stopped shooting for a year or so,let me tell you a little story about today.
I was mowing the yard and noticed that a shingle on the roof was in need of repair so I decided I would run to the Home Depot and get me some sealer for the roof to tack the shingle down better.I jumped in the car and off I went, while I was looking for sealer I passed the nuts and bolts isle and I thought to myself wouldn't it be funny if the power block wasn't stripped but rather the socket head bolt was the issue.I used my phone while standing in front of the nuts and bolts cases to find a schematic of the m3 for the bolt size ,m3x8 if I remember correctly and I purchased a 3 pack of them!
I finally got back to the house ,got the m3 back out and guess what?,the new bolt threaded right up without issue!!!
I just sort of stared at it in disbelief, the wife asked me if it fixed it and all I could say was(I DO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT)!
LOL so here it's been a year or so being upset over something that was actually nothing but a faulty bolt but it had me thinking I screwed up a 2k plus airgun.
The old bolts thread width was narrow compared to the new bolt, like it was a m2 or 2.5 and not a true m3 if that makes any sense? Lol.
I now feel better but at the same time ashamed that I didn't see the issue over a year ago,lol live and learn.
MAN IM GETTING OLD
