Stoeger  Stoeger scout and ranger good or pass?

I shoot from my left shoulder but I am right handed. The stock capacity magazines for my 3 P35s do not stick into my face at all. I have a larger Carm magazine for my 25 (it's all they offer for the 25) and I cannot stand it. I am quite sensitive to this issue but it is not a problem at all for the P35/Stoeger Bullshark. It's a great gun for left shoulder shooters. But I work the safety with my right hand. It is small and in the trigger guard. It is quiet, however. I keep my trigger finger out of the trigger guard until ready to fire so I click off the safety early as I am shouldering the gun before I have the target in the scope. But it isn't safe to do this unless you have the habit of staying away from the trigger.

Parallax Wheel Interference Issue

I recently purchased a very nice TX200 MkIII with a Sightron S-TAC 4-20x50 scope from a fellow AGN member. The rifle works flawlessly and is very accurate. The only issue is the scope isn’t level with the rifle. This would be an easy fix if it weren’t for the parallax wheel. When level, the wheel interferes with the gun’s stock. I‘m primarily a small game hunter but I was hoping to give Field Target a try in the Spring, so accuracy matters.

I’m hoping people with more experience could layout some options. Here are the ones I can think of:
1) Buy a smaller wheel. The one that came with the sale has a 5” diameter. I think a 4” wheel would do the trick.
2) Carve a chunk out of the stock to provide clearance to the wheel. This is NOT an option for me. This rifle is way to nice to do that.
3) Do they make parallax knob extenders? I figure moving the wheel out 1/4” would do the trick.
4) Rotate the scope out-of-level to avoid the interference.
5) Other…Is there a simple fix to this situation that I’m just not seeing?View attachment 541410
Try Eric Sanders of scope works. I suspect he can make a wheel with proper offset.

FX  FX DRS and slugs

I'm planning on purchasing an FX DRS classic walnut, 600 mm 25 cal. Should I be able to expect to shoot slugs and pellets with equal accuracy with the barrel that is stock on that model, or will I need to do some sort of customization to shoot slugs accurately? thanks
My FX DRS 600 mm with super Powerful,Plenum shoots NSA 25 grain like a super champ...... And I mean It:

88 yards

First time back in the shop. Setback trigger …Tommy/ Longbow design

I can hook you up when things get warmer. I know you have Lewis old Timahawk. ..
Sweet!
There's a couple other things I'd like to have done to it too! And I know you're the man for the job. Wanna bring it back to its former glory or beyond.

N/A  Huma Air Belleville washers?

I recently got the Huma air 1197 inline regulator, I am somewhat confused how to adjust the settings, I red that by changing the spring stack you can change from low-medium-high. But you have to take it apart, remove the c spring and change the springs? I also red by turning the screw with the flat slot you can change the pressure without taking it apart? Could someone sent the link of the youtube video?

RAW Rapid  22cal RAW Efficiency

Pardon my ignorance, but can you explain what these are?
SSG is a "Spring Stopping Guide" which is for most a self made anti-hammer bounce devise ;)
TM hammer is the Older style hammer from TM-1000's that are lighter than the supplied HMX-1000 hammers used with the newer rifles ;)

Airforce  Texan .35 Schematics

ok maybe you can back off the power wheel a turn so the hammer spring will have less preload but if it were me id figure out how to adjust the regulator someone on this forum knows all about that v3 regulator you got
I agree hopefully some one with more knowledge will chime in on the v3

Resources  Do I need a new gun for HFT and GunSlynger

I plan to enter HFT and GunSlynger competitions in this years Pyramid Cup. I am not a serious competitor. Just want to join the group and have fun. Wondering if my FWB 124D would do for what I want out of the competition. It shoots better than me and if I practice a lot, I hope to be semi competitive. Will a HW 97, TX 2000, Airking Pro or HW 98 make that much difference in competition or make it more fun? Also I stink at fixing airguns so I need a airgun that does not need any work. I am partial to break barrels so the HW 98 looks nice but would it greatly outshoot a FWB 124D if I practice a lot with the 124.
having owned and shot most all the pricey airguns out there.... shoot what you are most practiced with and most proficient with.

FX  FX DRS - the regulator

I dont think the angle has anything to do with it since the inlet port is also angled to match the valve. But when I upgraded my .177 to .25 the inlet probe did have a notch to line it up the right angle, but it was not tight so I could turn the barrel a few mm each way so I had a bit of troubble to line it up right.

Introduction - New to PCP after 40+ years with Pew Pews

I used 'pew-pew' to avoid any P.C. drama. I think pew-pew became popular in the gun community when YouTube began censoring videos with firearms. If that isn't a problem here, hallelujah!. Fifty years ago I got my first air rifle, a Daisy bb gun, then a .177 Crossman pump, followed by a Benjamin .22 air rifle. A couple years ago I picked up a Gamo Swarm Whisper that has been a lot of fun, but cocking the rifle more than a few times plays hell with my arthritis, hence the move to PCP.

Yeah, 'savings' might be a misnomer. Between the rifle, the suppressor, the tank, the compressor, the scope, etc., I could have added another cartridge rifle or maybe a couple of cases of ammo. I agree the real advantage is trigger time. I can practice every day and, because it is so quiet, not bother a soul.

P.S. - Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Trigger time. You nailed it.

I love to sit (or stand) and shoot for hours. I never get enough. With an air rifle, you can shoot until you don't want to shoot anymore every day of the week and still afford groceries.

If you can step out your back door with a glass of iced tea and hammer away for hours with an accurate rifle it really dosent matter if it's goes boom, bang or piff.

I get a huge kick out of the air rifle hits on shotgun shells, green army men and toy dinosaurs. You can get more creative with your targets with an air rifle, and the result downrange is even better than centerfire.

You can afford to miss a lot trying to hit really challenging targets too. That teaches lessons that are very difficult and expensive to learn with a powder rifle. I can shoot 250 shots a day for many days running. A guy shooting a powder gun couldn't buy enough ammo and barrels to support a shot count like that. It's easy with a few tins of pellets and an air rifle.

N/A  Barrel question

Hey Steve -

Thanks for the comments, but.
I don't agree that the M32 is used for "air gun" barrels. Maybe for .22 firearms, or other lower power firearms, but not for airguns.

Reasons -
1 - I've cut a few mid and high end, air gun barrels. Pretty soft, that is easy to cut. M32 is not so easy.
2 - Way too many people warn of using brass bristled brushes in air gun barrels so they ae not damaged. There would be, no...problem with this, if M32 was used. I have not tried the brass brushes, as I don't want to ruin any barrels.
But, I do have a short section of a barrel that I recently cut off. I'll get out my firearm brushes and small bore measuring tools and...give it a try...

My background is Aerospace and Automotive building. I have a reasonable understanding of a lot of standard materials, and a couple of not so standard materials. This is mostly the reason that I ask the question, just to gain more knowledge.

Thanks

Mike
You are correct about M32 not being used for air gun barrels, but that that was not your question. You asked about barrels, not air gun barrels. M32 is the preferred alloy for hammer forged barrels in the annealed state. It is the alloy Heckler & Koch uses on their firearms. After hammering they are then sent out for heat treatment, which often warps the barrels. After returning to the factory, they are inspected and straightened as necessary before final assembly. The advantage provided are barrels good for 25,000 rounds without wear. Air gun barrels do not require that level of durability because of the soft lead munitions , low heat of the propellent and low velocity. I would also like to know what fX uses as their barrels are also forged.

I do not thing a brass bore brush will damage an air gun barrel, nor do I think they are necessary either. A cotton or paper swab is more than enough for cleaning.

Beeman  New to me R8 is a keeper.

I recently worked with Tom at Vortek and created a kit for this R8. It's shooting nicely without twang between 8.5 and 9.5 fpe. It cocks a little harder than my Hw30s and considerably easier than my 50. Despite having the roughest cut leade I've seen and no choke this gun is crazy accurate. Still I'm not in love with it. There's a couple minor idioscyncrosies that bother my OCD. I Probably should of gone with a modern Hw50 (Hw99) and taken some spring out it. It certainly would have been less expensive. I'm in need of an Rekord intermediate sear to fix the safety if anyone has an extra. Once that's fixed I'll likely be putting it up for trade in the classifieds if that's allowed.

Be well all

Umarex  Komplete

Yes ,I buy 24pk for $210 , it's worth not having to air up after every 15 shots
Not every PCP gets 15 shots per fill... I've noticed you said the Komplete is your second favorite over the Gk1... the GK1 does have a low shot count because it's a unregulated high powered handgun. Most carbon fiber bottle PCPs gets about 40+ shots per fill. My Impact M4 compact (500mm barrel) gets about 45 full power shots shooting 25gr slugs at 900fps. My Zelos with the aluminum air tank (If I recall correctly), I was getting about 30 shots per fill with 25gr JSB hades at 915 fps. But hey, whatever fits your needs. As long as you're out there shooting and having fun, that's what's it's about!

Yes, because as we all well know using a tether or having a buddy bottle is far too difficult. Especially when, for convenience sake, you can just spend over $100 per session in nitrogen bottles.

In two sessions you will exceed the cost of the rifle in throw away nitrogen bottles. Of course you could use 20g paint ball CO2 carts at $4 each. Reduced FPS but it would work for plinking.

The Complete is just another in a very long line of products that use the King Gillette sales methodology. Sell the product at or below cost, make your profit on the consumables. Look how well it has worked for Ink Jet Printers.
Funny that you mention that... reminds me of Blocketh Outdoors. His complaint was not finding any nitrogen bottles in stock... so he ended up buying another Komplete for his review. Lol.
