OTIS AIR GUN KIT

It’s really hard to beat the price and effectiveness of a Patchworm bore cleaning kit

GX customer service how long to wait?

Thank you once again to everyone chiming in. I thought I would give an update on my situation.
Last weekend I sent off another 5 or so emails, then on Tuesday 5/6 I received an email!! I was happy to hear something, they told me to take a video and email them back. So I did exactly that and sent that video to them yesterday afternoon. Then this morning I had another response and I felt even better…until I read the email. They sent a link to a converter and told me to buy it and if it works to fix the compressor, they will reimburse me!! The converter they linked is another $50, and I guess if that doesn’t fix the problem I am SOL on the $50 converter. At this point I feel as though I am stuck and will probably just buy the converter although I am not at all confident they will reimburse me. I don’t know if this is because of tariffs or what. It is one of these worst customer service experiences I have ever had! Anyways just thought I would share what I found out! And thanks everyone!
They WILL reimburse you. Buy it from Amazon, and you won't be SOL, you can return it if it doesn't fix your problem. Also, have you tried disconnecting the heat probe on the cylinder head to see if it will continue to run?

Have you taken your burst disc out and cleaned it up good?

Umarex  Jelous Zelos twins

OK, so who was I kidding when I said I might leave it the way it was - I went back in and opened up the transfer port through the body on the .30 ST barrel conversion, and the gun is now spitting the JSB Exacts 44.75gr at @86ft/lbs with comfort. No external plenum, and less spring pre-load than OEM. Crazy accurate, too. I don't think I could ask for more out of this one. I had originally planned to have three barrel setups fo rthis action using the Old school FX ST barrels in .22, .25, and .30 - but, I think I may need to purchase another Zelos to go any further, as I don't think I want to change this one (other than mounting the 500cc bottle). I also have one setup with a .25 ST barrel with CF shroud - the barrel tensioning clamp is the only visual difference in the guns They use different valve bodies, and TP sizes through the body(s) and barrel(s)

There is plenty of space inside the shroud to keep the sound level down. No need for anything additional.

I made a barrel tensioning clamp that replaced the front block on the Zelos action. There is a system tying the front cap of the shroud to the barrel end that allows for true tensioning of the barrel. I do not know how much effect it is having, but can say without hesitation that the gun is very, very accurate for me.

I bonded a Carbon Fiber sleeve to the old school (full diameter) FX St .30 barrel to bring it to the 15mm diameter I needed to fit the action.

Help choosing a Pistol for HFT.

I shoot a Brocock Atomic XR .177 at 12 Ft-lb and it is a laser with 10.3s, QYS 9.56 (but the catch the wind) and 13.4s. I have an Athlon 4-12 on it and I just leave the stock adapter on it so I can easily thread on the stock and I've got a carbine. My grandkids love it as it is so adjustable for LOP.

I have shot a RAW Pistol and the RAW does have a better trigger, but I have worked on mine and it is about 15 oz, the lightest I believe is safe. For Gkids, this is as light as I would go.

The Pistol/carbine is bullet proof. I get at least 3 mags per fill.

If I was to play with it, I'd set it at 12- ft lb with the transfer port set at half. Then for hunting pests i'd open it up for a little more power. I haven't tried this yet because it shoots so accurate as it is.
Here is what the .177 Atomic chrono readings will look like with various pellet weights if you add the AOA $190.00 Air Superiority Power adjuster/wheel option.

3 transfer port options plus the power wheel.
Note that all the below charted chrono numbers are with the transfer port three options.
In the end i have chosen pwr wheel at 8 = "max"
I found the best blend / results with the above wheel/transfer port combo.

Reflexions

Typical for any "competitive" hobby. There are people who enjoy the search for perfection and those who like to socialize with those seekers. There are "one gun Charlies" who don't seem to need anything but a slingshot and a pile of rocks to do well and others who need a different rifle for every 5° temp swing. All part of the spectrum. Much fun to be had no matter where you look.

UPS today’s delivery! Charles

Called an obrez. Russian soldiers in tight close combat fashioned them from the Mosin 91/30 I believe first in very very few ad hoc made by trench sappers and trench mine incursion defense troops in ww1 when trench mining became popular, became really popular during the *ommunist revolution among *ommie agitators and activists, resistance against the white Russians, later among Soviet conscripts not issued a Nagant revolver or sudayev/shpagin in ww2 where space was at a premium, (AT guns, SPGs, poorly equipped tankers)

Another GHOST rat kill video ( 2 minutes+). Some slow motion and freeze frame

They group very well at that speed to. I was looking to get the fps lower when I first started shooting that pellet but wanted to keep the reg set at 140 bar. I have the power wheel on minimum too. I’m also switching between 3 other pellets and weights and adjusting the power wheel for each, but no reg change or spring swaps.

How to Index an Airgun Barrel (EASY) Video

Unless the barrel is tested in a machine prior to the transfer port being cut and finished that's pretty much how they are. I know of no mfg that does that though.
That would be a pain in the butt for the factory. Now I see the genius of a design like the Impact. Way ahead!

I do hope my new $3600 Black Wolf will have the ability to index. Deposit put down, stack of $100 bills sitting here waiting for arrival. It is multi caliber....so hopefully.

Pellet stability

.024 vs .028 doesn’t explain why the bc match hold a .5” group at 55 and most the jsb offerings are giving me a silver dollar.

Edit...

In regards to .177 and H&N, and in an effort to be less confrontational, I'll summarize what I had originally typed by simply suggesting that you take a look at the manufacturer of pellets used in match reports of traditional field target, specifically looking at the highest scores.

who's thankful??

I've only been here since April. So far, so good! I have been on various fora since the early 90s (dialup!). It takes dedicated people (both posters and admin.) to make one run smoothly. The hard part is keeping good content, within the site rules...which requires a firm hand and a bouncer occasionally.

Barra  The Barra 250z is pretty dang sweet (VIDEO INSIDE)

Yeah it’s as advertised.I just got my .25 250z and had it out for the first time today.straight out of the box,no tuning and it shot a 1.5” group at 100yds with AEA 33.9gr pellets and a couple 2” groups with .249 H&N 36gr slugs.I know, strange that pellets at 100yds out performed slugs, that’s just what happened🤷🏻‍♂️
I had the same experience. Here is a video I made the other day just testing it with random slugs after jacking the pressure up to 200https://youtu.be/QtHyLbgLO0Y

N/A  Best airgun oil?

Rc (radio controlled) shock oil comes in different weights. I'm unsure if they correspond with motor oil viscosity or not. However the higher the number the thicker the oil. I have some 50w and some 90w that I use for my monster trucks and sedan rc vehicles. I tend to use the 90w for my airguns as its thicker and therefore stays in place better and don't run off as much as the thinner oils. My shock oil is at least 10 years old with no discoloration as far as I can tell.
SAE 50 is a motor oil viscosity grade, but SAE 90 is a gear oil, which uses a different viscosity measure. SAE 30 motor oil and SAE 90 gear oil are of similar viscosity.

This might be useful to someone. SAE is the popular viscosity scale for vehicle applications, although we usually measured oil viscosity in Saybolt and then converted, if required.

Do you know what the RC people are conveying with these numbers?

I am certain that you already know these viscosity facts, but most people seem not to understand the implications.
