RAW Rapid  RAW HM1000 X Questions.

Report Back:

Started shooting 5 shots groups with 25.39 MRD's at 25m indoors yesterday.
After 5 shots I adjusted the hammer spring a quarter turn at a time. Shot 5 more shots to settle the spring, and then shot groups.
When I had them just about go through the same hole, I started fine tuning with very small adjustments to the hammer spring.
I stopped when I got the smallest groups.
I then moved back to 50m, and the rifle again produced excellent groups.

It was clear from the outset that the rifle is very sensitive to adjustments on the hammer spring.
The vibration that was evident before, has now disappeared.
Velocity was right on 930fps.

The RAW is back to shooting like I know it can!

Events  PSA - Indoor Field Target - March 9, 2025 - Palmyra, PA

Palmyra Sportsmen's Association (near Hershey, PA) - Indoor Field Target - Sunday, March 9, 2025.

Our Indoor Field Target event is a great way to get introduced to field target, have fun, or practice for the upcoming outdoor season. Even if you do not intend to shoot and just want to learn more about the air gun field target game, consider stopping by to observe and ask questions.

Targets are placed at ranges between 10 yards and 22 yards, and will be set to an AAFTA legal difficulty for standing position shots. If you are an experienced FT shooter, we encourage you to shoot the entire course standing. You are not required to shoot the standing position, there are no position restrictions for this event, shoot whatever positions you feel comfortable. The course is 5 lanes with two targets per lane, 2 shots per target. Although targets are set using rifle difficulty, you can shoot with pistol.

Since the targets are not placed at long distances, this event provides an opportunity to use guns more suited to shorter distances. You may consider shooting a multi-pump pellet gun (no BBs), pistols, or guns that shoot at lower energy levels than required for the outdoor game.

Guns must not exceed 20 fpe (foot-pounds of energy) at the muzzle.

This event is held in our clubhouse on our indoor rifle range. We will be open for sign-ups between 9AM and 1PM. Cost is $5 per round, you can re-enter as many times as time allows.

That dot in a big ring is tough. Sam and I figured the average score would be about 8. When I told a couple guys that they looked skeptical thinking it will be higher that that. Average score..........8. I hit 8 out of the first 10 then only 4 out of the next 15. Its way harder than hitting dots on a regular bullseye target. Yes the TX is the money gun, probably because it's a good platform and I have lots and lots of pellets out of it.

New pistol from FX, whaddya guys think?

I'm excited for it! Though, while FX is known for its exceptional quality, I do agree with others in that I'll likely be waiting for initial reviews and testing to come back before committing to purchase myself
I want any info they can give us, and I may or may not wait till the first rolling parts update happens. I got powerblocked on my impact that was just a couple months too new.

Benjamin  O-ring for DonnyFL adapter?

Oring isn't needed
Thank you!
No o-ring needed for his adapter.
The Marauder was first introduced with the ring and has never changed. Kinda like over engineering but through the years it was more cost effective just to leave it alone then re designing another cap just to remove it.

Great, thank you!

The Golden Age of air guns?

I'll try my best to think of it as "The Golden Age." Was it 1981 when I finally got a Beeman R-9?
I seem to think of the Golden Age as when things were simple.
It is not simple anymore because there are so many choices.
If the Golden Age = more choices, it has not come yet, there is no Golden Age then.
Choice is Golden; it is getting better all the time!

The final 3d printed Technical stock for my Altaros M24???

I can't speak directly for their CF variants, but Atomic Filament makes great stuff, here in the USA. https://atomicfilament.com/collecti...?sort_by=manual&filter.p.m.custom.color=Black

How do you insert the rods into your prints?
By design, the stock was printed in 3 parts with Fusion 360. The .250 stainless rods are inserted while the parts are being glued together. Hence locking all 3 parts together.

BTW, I'm willing to give my Fusion 360 files to any AGN member for free. However, my scattered brain and the way I design parts in Fusion may be difficult for some to read and understand. You will be on your own to figure it out.

N/A  Does the difference make much of difference?

I have a .22 caliber Wolverine R Lite (the 30 fpe version) and like it as casual PCP, ready shoot as received from the factory.

The King is a PCP with a lot of potential as far a accuracy, power and adjustability goes. I have a .22/700 mm Panthera with the same value system and it's very consistent. The DRS also uses the same valve and I've been very pleased with the performance of my .22/600 mm Classic. Both my PCPs shot very well with their factory tunes.

The Wolverine is a very nice airgun but I don't think the design has the depth of capacity for .25 caliber at those ranges. I see it more as a .177/.22 sub-60 yard type of rifle.

For longer range shooting in .25 caliber, I'd go with the King, as it gives you more options. The high-flow valve is easily capable of handling heavy .25 projectiles.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers!
I have an Air arms s410 rated at 30fpe. It is a lazer with 16gr and 18gr JSB’s. I have found that for shots longer than about 60yds even in low winds, it’s not as accurate as I like it to be as headshots are best with these critters. I was out shooting with a couple of buddies this weekend and they were shooting the FX Impact M3 with slugs-and they were routinely hitting past 100yds, in fact they were doing everything with their pcp’s that I do with a 22lr. That convinced me to get something that can launch lead without burning powder that has greater reach than my s410. I like the looks of the Daystate with a walnut stock over the composite stock on the King. But I will take 80fpe over 60fpe if it launches slugs that can buck the wind better. These targets are from my s410.
