EDgun  EdGun Leshi 2 pressure question

It’s not about the bar level, it’s about the change. Once it’s cooled down it should stay the same. After 2 hours it should be cooled. Write down the pressure. And then check again the next day. It should be close. but not exactly the same. Differences in room temperarure can change a few bar.
was 298 next day 296 next day 290 next day 286...I'll check again tomorrow

Theoben  Rapid MK2 mods

Gotcha, thanks! Do you recall how much of a difference it made to power output?
Welcome! I purchased it from Ken Hick's and it was already installed. He might have had a .30 that he turned into a .22....not sure. I heard they come standard on older .30's but don't quote me on that! 😂

BSA  BSA Airsporter mk6

Don't dry fire it again!
You don't see very many of those here in the US. I'd say the majority of Airsporters we see are Stutzens. Mk6 is the last mark before the RB2 (Gamo) rotary loading tap.
Sights from Mercurys and Airsporters will fit. So plentiful in UK.
The Mk6 is a far cry from the beautifully built Mk1 and 2.
If you want to mount a scope you need a set of rings like these for the correct height.
I don't think they're available in the UK but I know there is a clone available.
BKL and Sportsmatch offer 14mm rings but they're too high.

N/A  Need help and your advise/expertise

P35s are regulated guns. My 22 and 25 came with the regulator near the maximum regulator pressure the hammer will open. A little under 150 bar. That gives me 32 fpe on the 22 and about 10fpe more on the 25. I've made changes to get the 25 up to about 48 fpe. Biggest thing is a larger plenum which you could do to any P35. I think you could turn the 22 up to around 35 fpe by just raising the regulator a small amount. Decreasing power a little can be done with the hammer spring. Decreasing further would mean decreasing the regulator which is not hard. You cannot easily change the caliber. My P35-22 gave me my first 200 on the 30 yard challenge. I think it's a really nice gun with plenty of power for targets and small game.
You liked so much the p35! BTW the P35 mecanism is the same as the TRex??
We can work on it on the same way in both??

Temu “KYL” Style Target

Ordered this target off of Temu about a week ago. Was a little concerned about quality, but it had decent reviews so I ordered it. Considering it’s less than $60, I figured in the worst case I could just use it for my Notos if it doesn't hold up to my .30 Wildcat.

Received it in about a week. No assembly instructions but was pretty straightforward, especially if you reference the pictures of it on their app. The welds holding the spinners are a little ugly, but other than that no complaints.

Finally got to shoot at it today (2 days later).

It held up shockingly well. Wind kicked up as I started to shoot so I didn’t hit (or shoot) at every target. But the ones I hit are in perfect shape.

IMG_0478.jpeg

My gun is making 75ft/lbs at the muzzle with 44.75gn pellets, not sure what that equates to at 80yds.

Obviously hasn’t been thoroughly tested and abused yet, but for $60 I’m certainly impressed so far.

Hatsan  Flashpup .25 300$?

Yeah it’s bass pro. They never have updated pricing. 439$ marked down to 370$ then discount on top of that down to 350$. Saw it on amazon for same price and was kinda bummed. Was looking for good starter gun for friends to use instead of my FX lol
I think you may want to go to airgunrevisions.com instead for a lowered priced budget gun that your friend can still enjoy.

N/A  Finally some decent weather to take one of the older big bores out

Exactly my thoughts! I’m no expert but as far as I know there were repeater muskets around the same time as the Girandoni but I don’t think they saw the same level of use, not like it really caught on either though. That would make me think yes, the Girandoni had a leg up in terms of repeaters. Same as today cost + “weird” new tech makes things go in a different direction or take longer.
There were a few designs, and if I'm not mistaken, Girandoni injured himself trying to make a repeating firearm.

You had rifles with rotating barrels, and rifles that had multiple locks in a row with charges loaded in front of each other. That just looks sketchy:ROFLMAO:. There were the pepper box pistols too, some of those were rather large calibers.

It was an interesting time seeing how things progressed to where we are today. Heck, we went from big bore airguns to BB and pellet guns and now back to big bore airguns

twist rates for 30 cal 45-55 gr slugs

Motorhead, can you expand a bit on the "faster" issue. My understanding is that regardless of the FPS, a 1:25 for example will always spin the projectile one time each 25 inches because that is how the barrel is "cut." If you had a 25" barrel and a 1:25 twist rate, the pellet, etc. would revolve one time whether it took .1 second or 10 seconds to leave the barrel?

Mini Lathe for Small Parts?

I understand but I'd rather not talk guys out of making the proper tooling for their hobby lathes themselves.
I agree people starting out need to learn how to use HSS tools and also sharpen a drill bit if needed. Plus most people aren't going to spend the kind of money to get quality inserted tooling and carbide tools.

FX  Impact m3 .22 compact settings

I figured out a lot of good information over the last few days and have been very successful tuning. The biggest piece of the puzzle that I was missing was learning about harmonics.

I saw a video on tuning that made so much sense and changed my perception of tuning. I found max velocity (at 80/120 regs) and put the power wheel on 16 at max velocity and shot a 3 shot group (around 900 fps). The. I dropped power wheel to 15 and shot 3 shot group. Then 14, 13, 12, 11, 10…all the way down to the low 800s, noting group size for each power level. Found that at power level 11 (850-860 fps) the groups got VERY tight. From there I played a little with the micro-wheel to fine tune the groups even further. Once I was completely satisfied with the groups, I started playing with the valve to see if it could get even tighter.

The results were fantastic; though the SD and ES weren’t the best. But my groups and consistently were wonderful. I guess at the end of the day that’s really what I care about. I want to hit iguanas in the off switch. By tuning this way, the gun is extremely efficient, getting way over 100 shots on a 250bar fill. It is as accurate as I’ve ever seen and makes me totally confident in.

Had one of these pellets stray just a tad (could have been the pellet) but still incredibly happy with the result. This is 10 shots at 25 yards. Of course 25 yards is only the beginning, but I’ll have to wait for the weekend to find a place to shoot out to 50+. The top groups were 5 shots each and were basically in the same hole.

Hell yeah bud! Good on you for figuring it out! Funny you say that about the speed as 95% of 900fps puts you at 855fps! Enjoy your gun and those groups are great!

N/A  Looking for advice on light airguns

Though I like my Ghost Carbine, it is not a light gun…

When I got the chance to handle and shoot the first Ghost to come into the U.S. (before they were available for sale), my very first impression upon picking it up was "Man, that's heavy". Truth be told, I meant for its length.

Considering weight and length were mentioned in the original post of this thread, and the OP's screen name suggest they may be of small(ish) stature, apparently some folks not only hear what they want to hear, but read what they want to read.

Brocock/BRK  Scratches on brand new gun barrel?

On new equipment that is disappointing.

If it shoots great though that’s what matters to me.

I bought a used Anschutz 54 (22LR) from a friend because he took delivery and realized the barrel was no longer blued, it was spray painted black. We shot it, it hammered, and I got a hammer rifle for pretty cheap. Looks don’t matter when eyes are focused on the results sheet.
The nice thing about the guns with a little wear…. You use them more and care less about the little things. I have plenty of safe queens that I hate to shoot. Plus this gives me $200 towards another gun…trying to decide on an arrow shooter! The bush pig or the M600…..can’t decide

RAW Rapid  My new rifle based on your recommendations

Hi forrest342. I noticed that you have an Atlas CAL on there. There is a simple way to totally transform the functionality of the Pod-loc. You'll never need an 11mm socket wrench again, and you'll never bash your knuckles again when trying to loosen the lever, and you can easily change the tension/friction on the fly with very fine adjustments, and you will have lots of leverage for a very hard lock. Basically you will have the full range of tension/friction adjustable on the fly without having to use any brute force -- and it stays where you put it until you change it.

It's not something I sell. It's just a Nickel-alloy belleville washer and a carbon fiber drag washer, so two mods as described in this thread:

Cheers.

.177 20gr slug, 11mm/0.41 MOA group @100 yards!

I grew up in Idaho and we would often take dirt roads to find a nice spot to shoot . At times we were on a farmers property. They were usually really nice and say we could shoot there but asked us to "clean up our mess and don't shoot my trees " . I see it often and hope that people are shooting their own trees and not someone else's.
I understand, no one else's trees were harmed.
