Sorry, wanted to clarify the 125. The 125 is what the first regulator is set at. The second regulator is set at 90.
Ok I missed that part, I run my 1st reg at 145 or so, you want the pentium to fill quickly unless you are shooting really slow, If the 90 is working then start playing with your HSA and check your speeds, you might be very close right now, just very very small adjustments will get it nailed. You can tell if you are close by dropping down to say 4 does your speed drop a bunch or stay the same, if the same then your HSA is a bit too high, i.e. out too far.

Skull mount in process...

Do you bleach them white or paint them?

For "important" mounts I remove what oils I can with naphtha and bleach the skull in a peroxide/water bath. Drying/curing in direct sunlight helps to give a natural "bone" color... as expected. 🙂

For quick mounts (raccoon skulls and such) I'll mask protect the teeth - remove them, apply tape or a masking fluid (used in watercolor painting) - then spray with an automotive primer before finishing with a paint of choice. Some people like a smooth shiny "plastic" look, others prefer matt or semi-gloss finish.

Lots of ways to do the mounts.

Cheers!

Looking for air gunners in the Charlotte NC area.

There are a few of us in the mountains to the west, but I don't know anyone in your area.

If you click on "Members" above, there's a pop-down menu with a member map. That might help.

Cheers,

J~
Thx J- ... how far West? We head over to the Elijay, GA area from time to time for vacation. Beautiful country out there.

Also, thx for the Members map reference ... what a great resource!

Brad

What made you decide on your big bore choice for hunting?

I wish I knew all the

Thats what I am looking for, I really see 0 point in going with a 338 arc at this point. I just felt my fpe was too low for the shots i wanted to make. thanks for the input
Texan,xp,or swa which is same as pbba very reliable in my experience

RTI  Mora Regulator Adjustment

I've watched videos and read posts about adjusting the Mora regulator. They say to degas the gun every time you make adjustments. The latest manual from RTI says that you can increase the 2nd stage reg by turning the adjustment screw clockwise.. To decrease reg pressure it says to Crack open the bleed screw and turn counterclockwise. Only mention of degassing is when you adjust the 1st stage reg which is rarely done.
Is this procedure revised since the earlier Moras?

Learning about slugs

Long time (old) pellet shooter would like to learn about shooting slugs. FX Crown and / or Brocock Sniper, both 22.
Where is the best place to learn about entering the world of shooting slugs?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

A lot is trial and error experience, you may find a lot of weird dogma on forums around them. If your gun can shoot jsb monster redesigns fairly well and at 950 fps or so it should be able to shoot the 17-23 grain slugs similarly. (17 gr nsa is hit and miss in my experience)

This is assuming pellet liner with its associated twist rate and potential chokes.

Slugs seem to like 150 bar as a reoccurring theme for me too.

Other  PCP for PRS22

DRS MDT(got it as well) only if you have same chassi on 22lr, you would be limited to 33gr slugs plus minus. Panthera is more powerful, i shoot 42grs at 980 fps(magazine plus + purge shots, 165 bar bar). 700mm version plus chassi from delta force, eventually just front rail from delta plus their 350cc fromt bottle, then you can have a lot of air. I got 1st&2nd stage huma reg (210 bar) and 27g hammer.Just order karma yesterday, cant comment it...
Best to buy spare orings at shop then 1-2 spare transfer port cage and axel, you can make those plastics delrin, csn sens you dia if needed. Complete oring repplacement is matter of 1 hour so not a big problem
I do compete here in czech with 22lr only, same ballistic(slighly better on 200m plus) but you cant shoot so fast due to plenum recharge(5s) and you are limited on hit-to-move stages(umlimited rounds)

Crosman  Gun oiling

what is gun oil
gun oil came in a cleaning kit back min the day it was designed for Powder Burners and we would have a bottle of Hoppes no. 9 sitting close by we would take the guns apart clean them and oil them down
those were the days that 3 in1 oil was the thing to have for those squeaks
but time have changed and an AIR GUN is not a Powder Burner and i believe the only time gun oil could be used is ion a rag to wipe the metal down
when you shoot say PB pistols you would come home and clean your pistol before storage you would take iot apart and use a Lewis Lead Remover on the barrel and reassemble and lube the slide and store and even i never used Gun Oil because i was use Break Free in a spray can, is it Gun Oil or just the replacement of the 3 in 1 oil that WD40 did
now we never take a AG down like a PB and the places that need lube should have some grease added and just a little
Gun Oil and Air Guns only on the outside

Looking down that brand new barrel

Is there any chance that the file size of the photo is too large? Someone will know.

It would be interesting to see. My bore scopes aren't small enough for a .22 air gun bore, and I keep shuddering when I see the cost of one that is.

On the other hand, my granddaughter is a dental assistant...hmm, I wonder if they lend out their stuff? :ROFLMAO:
don't bother with trying to borrow it, just make a after-hours appointment with your granddaughter 😊 your gun might need a dental checkup..
