N/A  Airgun Newb (Sort Of). Lots of Questions-Part2

To recap, I'm not completely a newb, but I am pretty inexperienced. I have a Benjamin Maurader and have a compressor as well as a cascade system at the fire dept.

I am really interested in a full-auto PCP rifle. I have two problems with the full-auto PCP rifles I've looked at. First, they're hella expensive, and second, the ammo capacity sucks.

I've seen co² bb guns that are full-auto, and they look great for what I want, after all, accuracy isn't very high up on the list for this gun. And with the amount of ammo I'd be going through, the cheap bbs would be awesome. (I'm picturing the full auto bb guns from the fair). My issue is, I'd rather not have to mess with co². So, can we convert a co² rifle to PCP? Also, does anyone know anyone that does that, and what are the drawbacks?

I've seen refillable air cartridges on Temu and other sites and even thought about converting other co² pistols to air, but wondered about the viablility.

Thanks for reading, any advice is appreciated.

Look into the Air Ordnance SMG 22. No longer made but fun. Some come up on Ebay for high prices, but give them a low bid and you might get lucky.

N/A  Airgun Newb (Sort-of). Lots of Questions-Part1

I have had the Hatsan Velox for quite some time now and probably shot over 2,000 rounds thru it. It just recently quit cycling properly because the rod that opens the bolt probe had broken a while ago and finally wore enough that it would bind. That being said, it is a lot of fun. I emailed a parts request to Hatsan for a new linkage and received it within a week. Got a spare right away too. So about $17 later we are up and running as good as new. I have an older Hatsan gun as well and I think the machining quality is better on the newer Velox. Maybe they are stepping up their game a little. I would buy the Velox again but you would be best off waiting for a sale like I did. I purchased my from Pyramyd Air for around $340. Don’t expect great accuracy and you won’t be disappointed. I use it for 15 yard plinking at steel targets and it works well.

Compressor Purchase Help

I'm with you. After having the hengs I like the little Shoebox knockoffs more from Amazon. They're disposable cheap and I keep one as a backup to my big tuxing 4 cylinder. I rebuilt 2 of my hengs several times(never seals or read valves) and was just done with it for the amount of oil and water condensate they put out. After busted crank cases, a ruined rod and stage 1 piston, i gave up on them.
FR this is Airgun Nation...not Compressor Nation

I don't mind the act of tanking air, but having another thing about the garage that needs fixing wasn't part of the plan when I bought the compressor.

Karma  Which optic are you running on this?

@Michael consider the Primary Arms SLX 3X or 5X MicroPrism with the Griffin X Mill or Aroura MIL reticles. Light and heavy duty, they rival the Element in that and not having to be fiddling with parallax at longer yardages. My 3X becomes parallax free and focus is clear at 20 yards (the only "issue" some might have if shooting close range and not having the eye centered or wanting to count the eyelashes on a chipper at 10 yards.

Good choice. I've also got a similar Hawke 4x and 6x prism with BDC reticles. Great for mid-range work

Let's see those air tanks/ Bottles and carrier's please.

That guy was me 😁 the biggest tank is not commercially available, it's an aircraft control cylinder. 1150ci (216 cf) and 3400psi, essentially a super light "k" cylinder for capacity. 92 ci buddy bottles are the smallest. Free 88cf scuba, Scott 70ish cf, 88 cf msa 97 cf great white.

I can tether to the monster 3400psi with my buddy and bench shoot slugs with a 70 and 55 fpe all day with a reg and splitter manifold till it gets to 150 bar reg setting on the guns.

I fill with a 1 L/m tuxing 4 cylinder dive clone.

Other  New to PCP rifles need help :)

Well, if y'all aren't confused now you will be by the time this thread finishes. There is a fan for every airgun out there and they are all happy to tell you why they are a fan.
Best thing to do is give as much info on your intended use and budget. Also consider how you plan to fill the gun.
As the caliber increases so does the price per unit. There is also the availability of the ammo of choice.
Whether or not the gun is pellet/slug friendly would be one of the things on my criterial list. That gives you options on what and where to buy.

RAW Rapid  My new RAW!

It is remarkably accurate and consistent, and the custom stocks that Martin makes are the icing on the Cake so to speak. The only issue to date has been the operator 🤣
I hear ( in Jest generally ) I'm cheating when shooting the RAW .20 & typically respond you need to get yourself one !!! Several FT club shooters actually have, or had there other caliber RAWs converted to the caliber

100 yards and beyond…?

Just because you can does not mean you should. I grew up using rimfire and center fire options but not possible anywhere I have lived in modern times (rightfully so). Airguns are more challenging to be effective but effective they can be. After several years of using only airguns I recently had a chance to utilize my PBers in an open rural area. It was way too easy. I think airgun use has actually improved my PBing shooting skills? Under a hundred yards they are comparable. Over a hundred yards there really is no comparison IMHO. I shot my friends Browning Creedmore and must say there is no comparison at 200+ yards. None. But, the challange of our long range airguns sure is fun :)
I strongly agree with pcps being more of a challenge and that's why I am pull to them. When I was working for Uncle Sam, I was lucky enough to pick up how to become a good shot quickly. I was qualified for a number of weapons but, I have never been challenged as much as I have with a pcp at long range. I love a challenge. I no longer have PBs for hunting, I hunt coyote, racoons and woodchucks at long distances 75-200 yards with a 150gr slug so I see no need to hunt with a PBs that have 2800- 4000 fps and the worries of a clean pass thru. I don't judge others who choose to.

N/A  Head Shot

It was windy. An inch one way or the other. Miserable shooting weather past 25 yards.

It calmed down to nothing and suddenly I was hitting them in the body almost every shot. I got so happy I told my buddy I was going for a head shot. Hit that rascal right in the eye!

Missed the next 15 shots trying to do it again....
I found that the wind here often changes directions, and there’s often a lul between the shifts where I can get 1 or 2 straight aim hits.
Its very noticeable at 75-yards.

Daisy  I was gifted 2 air pistols, a Beeman 800 and a Daisy 717. I need some help please.

i had the same thing happen one pump and several firing why i have no idea
the only change was using a 006 valve stem Oring where a 005 is the right size and when the 005 Oring came in it stopped that problem also the problem only happen after the pistol had been charge and set aside for a leak down test like over night
when the trigger is pulled the cocking link pulls the valve open and holds it open

easy to work on until they are not
