I don’t remember them being this expensive though; they were most probably sub 300 Euro when I saw them about 2 or 3 years ago

November 1 TEXtreme Field Target Match Report

Apologies for not getting this match report out sooner. It’s been a hectic and taxing week.
Seven shooters contested the February 1 TEXtreme 12 and 20 foot pound field target matches; most purchasing multiple scorecards in order to contest two of the four possible classes. And although a sunny, shirt-sleeve weather day, very gusty winds ‘kept us honest’.
Correction- considering the questionable natures of the characters in attendance, the winds ‘kept us on our toes’.
Speaking of questionable natures, given the dense walls of thick cedars interspersed with open areas and buildings, reading wind was a moment-to-moment proposition. It is not at all unusual to experience wind drifts polar opposite of perceived wind direction.
That being the case, the mid-40s pistol Troyer difficulties (not including the 1.25X wind multiplier) translated to only high 20s Rifle Troyer difficulties (again without wind multiplier). But the fact that no rifle shooter posted a perfect score evidences just how tricky Saturdays winds were; no surprise considering applying the (only) 1.25X wind multiplier brought the rifle Troyers well into the mid 30s (and pistol Troyers well into the mid 50s
). By the way, as it does in extreme winds, the only wind multiplier of 1.25X fell short of reality last Saturday.
The priority for February’s TEXtreme match(es) being pistol, surprisingly 6 of the 7 shooters entered the Fun Rifle class. Six also entered 12 foot Pound Pistol, and only 3 entered 20 Foot Pound Extreme Pistol Class.
The 12 Foot Pound Pistol Match winner was Derrick Wall with an excellent 50/60 score. Derrick shot a .20 Brocock Commander P topped with an Athlon Talos scope, and shooting 13.73 grain pellets at 620 FPS. DW pocketed a Match Winner hat-pin for his efforts, to fill one of very few remaining real estate vacancies on his 3’ diameter sombrero. Correction, 3’ radius sombrero. Great shooting, D! By the way Bud, don’t wear that thing out on the course; if it comes off your head in Ranchito Robinson winds it could take someone’s head off! And if it doesn’t come off your head… you might go airborne!
Good enough for Second Place in 12 FP Pistol was Ron Robinson with a 47/60 score. And since the 12 FP Pistol class did not meet the requisite 4 entrants required for awards, I have nothing but braggin’ rights for second the 12 FP Pistol class.
So I’ll brag about my 12 FP Class pistol! Ol’ Faithful is a 1960s-vintage Crosman 187 Co2 rifle that I converted to a regulated-HPA bottle pistol in 2011. To date she has 3 National Champion and 3 State Champion Field Target titles to her credit, despite producing only 10.5 foot pounds. I use a vintage 4-12X Bushnell Legend scope, and 8.4 grain JSB pellets at 750 FPS.
Jim Clarke would not go quietly into that good night when the tie for Rifle Match Winner was announced, demanding a shoot-off to decide who would prevail for the much-coveted, 24 karat solid gold (colored) hat-pin. His and Derrick’s 56/60 scores were high scores of the day (for all classes).
Someone (sane) suggested the shoot-off be on a somewhat difficult target on the practice range, with comfortable spectator seating. However, the sicko match director insisted the spectators take an exhausting 35 yard walk to Lane 5’s highest Troyer difficulty target on the whole course; the much-feared, 1” kill-zone crow… perched at 46 yards!
Considering the 51.75 Troyer difficulty, no wonder both marksmen missed their first shots. However Derrick prevailed in the tie-breaker on their second shots. Good shooting, Men.
So Derrick nabbed another Match Winner hat-pin in the Rifle match, shooting a .177 AGT Vulcan 3 topped with a Sightron SIII scope, and firing 13.43 grain Hunter FT pellets 815 FPS. Nice shooting, Derrick. Reckon putting that hat-pin on your sombrero, or in your pocket, gives you a better chance of remaining Earthbound?
For what it’s worth, I posted high score in the Extreme Pistol FT match with a 40/60 score. I used my Robinson-custom Brocock Sniper XR rifle-to-pistol/carbine convertible, in pistol form. Black Betty wears a Weaver V-24 scope, and shoots 18.1 grain JSBs 705 FPS.

I guess we shall see, the M4 will probably be my next one or the Ghost. Since I am new the PCP world and I don't have much experience to comment on a lot on things. That Royale looks nice.I’m aloud to hate I owned quite a few fx’s over the years, wait until you have to replace the seals lol and you will eventually, I don’t hate all fx’s I like the old simple and easy to work on Dreamline and the royale 400’s had them both and they were pretty much maintenance free, impacts and mavericks not so much.. to each their own though, I canguarantee I will never own another impact or maverick.. I have been eying up that custom painted royale 400 though. Attached is a pic of my royale 500 that I wish I would have kept, I loved that rifle

Jennings H. Is 84 yoa. Still out there slinging lead with the best of them. His scooter keeps him in the game. Jennings was a Cowboy Action Shooter Champion in his prime.
I don’t know the make. I’ll check next month.

I started to test the 54 Diana the other day, 5 shots standing resting the forearm against the side of the deck post, shooting 25 yards,,, it almost looks like those targets jeff, I decided there really wasn't much reason to drag the rests out to the bench, in this weather life is boring enough,,,
Nice shooting, if I competed, I'd go to more extent, but right now a new 257 Roberts AI needs a load developed more, so that's where my energy will go, these Weirlhrauch and Diana rifles are just to well trained to bother with,,,,

N/A Out screwing around with the JSAR in .25 ... whoa some muscle !!!

Wow, those are good numbers!Recent few years the JSAR has been my .177 & .22 slugger. last year picked up some test barrels from Sabre/Karma having a 27 1/2" long 6 groove .25 cal in the lot.
Having tested with pellets previous with much success, it just was reinstalled on the JSAR Raptor for some slug testing.
Now this was not an accuracy test but one of how much Juice it has when shooting HUBEN 43.00 grain Flat base slugs ???
on @ 1900 psi we're at @ 860 fps .... so, we start raising the reg pressure until reg was nearly maxed out at 2400 psi ( Ninja Adjustable reg ) and the 43 grains are at 920 fps !! for an astounding 80.8 fpe
Taking a few shots out in the front yard out into big water puddles at @ 115 yards .... the accuracy appears pretty good ( Tho not zeroed, on bags or really confirmed ) but landing with a big splash really close with similar POA.
Had no idea the JSAR in .25 cal could muster that amount of Juice .... Whoa !!
