In the end the solution was weight distribution.
1) Air-bottle type guns seem best, especially in a shorter bottle configuration
2) lightest scope possible
3) position scope as far rearward as possible and still have a good eyebox
4) use a butt pad that grips the shoulder capsule
5) use a knee riser pushed as low and rearward as legally possible.
6) use a stock with a highly adjustable comb
The below setup would be absolutely perfect if it had a 330 cc bottle

So yeah, I suppose you could hang a MC tire from it, that would most definitely change the center of gravity. Be cheaper too. Just trying to be helpful here.

HPA cylinders type 4, lighter and non- limited life

As above. High pressure in globes or cylinders (ideally with domed ends). I am not putting my face three inches from 300 bar in a square section tank. Just as I won’t walk under suspended loads. It may not happen but ‘you never count your money at the table’

2 coons caught with their hand in the "cookie" jar.

A good poor man's night vision is a red LED light connected to a wall outlet or large battery constantly lighting up your bait station. That combined with a harbor freight driveway sensor will do the trick combined with your illuminated reticle scope. Trash pandas won't care at all about a dim red light this constantly on.

Results  Southwest Airgunners Duncan, AZ 11/04/2023 Match Report

@Franklink
Thanks for another great match report ! Your reports are the best!

I'm pretty sure we all had a great time this weekend. The weather was chilly at night but warmed up nicely during the day with very little wind. Sometimes it was dead calm out there. Just a beautiful fall weekend.

PCP Rifle  SOLD AGT Vixen Long 177

I'm sure I'll regret this one. Selling my 177 Vixen long. Super gun like new condition. Comes in original soft case and box. Includes 2 mags, fill probe and a Vector Optics 6-24x44 FFP. Great compact scope that fits this gun perfectly. Gun not picky and shoots a range of pellets great but I use Zan 10gr slugs at 880fps. $1050 Shipped CONUS PayPal for payment. Happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking. Ed

FX  What would be a good first pcp rifle

If you are serious about using a hand pump... you don't want a regulated gun that needs a 3,000+psi fill pressure... some need 4,500.. you will not like trying to fill that with a hand pump.

You need to decide what your "all in budget" is.. and what you really want to use the gun for and at what distance you plan on shooting accurately.

Then we can give you some more accurate advice... in my opinion.

Scope? do you have one to go on the new rifle or is that something you need in your budget? How good does it need to be.. just for pest control? figure about $180 to $300 with mounts and a bubble level.

We have used some of the lower priced compressors from China, and they are good if you are careful to keep them cool. Get one with water cooling and add ice to the tub of water that it uses. They run from $210 to $500, we just got a two cylinder that pumps real fast and has a great cooling system when set up with the ice water tub. it was $380 on Amazon. This is the lower priced one:

This is the one we use

Otherwise you need a gun that only needs a 2,000psi fill.
like this one:
It's not a slug gun, but it shoots 20fpe easy in 22 cal, which is great out to 60 yards or so.

so add up all the things you will need with your new PCP and then let's talk again
Bollocks.

this post is so full of misinformation I don't even know where to start to reply :ROFLMAO:
