If you READ the site RULES, understood them you would not be having these issues. This is a PRIVATE owned web site and we members are guests that are allowed to talk & converse, barter and sell so long as within the established rules you agreed to when signing up. I'm by no miens the site police but do understand pretty much what WILL or WON'T be tolerated. So with that said .. good luck.
T
I understand that. Admittedly, I never even read the rules, just signed up with the common sense of things that aren't tolerated like picking fights and other common sense things. Then I find out that it's forbidden to even mention powder burners or ask the legality of suppressors, etc... Just seems stupid and I have a problem with over stretching rules. Yeah yeah, its their house, their rules.

December 7 have always been a sort of holy day for me, even if i have no dirent national or other tie, then that day is of significance to my people none the less, well the few remaining honorable and caring ones of us.
Mind you most other here are clueless even though they are big on things like Halloween and Denmark have for decades hosted the largest outside of the US July 4 celebrations, though that too are now just a small thing as our two countries have drifted apart and many dont care where they come from or where their family members went back in the day.

If laziness was an Olympic sport I'd try to come in fourth so I wouldn't have to walk up to receive an award!

If I had the choice between doing something and doing nothing, I'd choose nothing. Unless it was to help someone else do nothing. I would work all night if it meant nothing would get done.
Latest out of the shop here. Top knife is Walnut with orange G10 liners, not visible in the pic. Next is blue laminate G10 and the last was camo laminate G10, but mostly FDE showing, which is fine. I'll do a leather sheath for the walnut, black kydex for the blue and FDE kydex with a black clip for the last one.

Some pics during dry fit as well as the glue up portion as well... and yes, shop is a disaster. First pic looks like the tip is burned, but was a shadow. Used a brushed/rough finish and then tumbled blades in ceramic media. The FDE knife got a coating of cold blue afterwards to finalize the more 'tactical' look. Looking back at the Walnut, I should have extended the scales a little more and did something else rather than a blunt, straight line... not much I can do about it now. Still turned out pretty. Still need to put an edge on these, as well.

Man i miss beating the living hell out of some red hot steel, it have been almost 4 decades since i made my last knife.
Blanco is a great friend. Always around for everything. Even when you kind of want him to leave.

Cherish these moments, because as we all know, our much loved friends leave us way too early.

I have been blessed with nine much loved dogs and two horses, and when each goes to Heaven, I am heartbroken.

My rule is, if the dog comes and bugs me, I stop what I'm doing and do something with the dog. Some day, my dogs will be gone. So will I. Time is short to enjoy such wealth.
I hate x bows...But a turn in luck...My buddy is giving me his KI Boss 405 when the new limbs arrive Wednesday... He is getting a KI Fatal X....Its a blessing... Money in budget for Pennsylvania 22 pcp...Lots of squirrel coyote fox.and few elusive ground hogs...
Update I hate crossbows!!!!!!!! Ahhhhh....Just setup my buddies KI Boss 405with UTG 130 BDX scope......Spent a day and had it hit the target perfectly at 120 yards.....not as accurate as Airsaber put pretty good......Anyways bow season starts buddies adjusting scope says it moved inches at 20 yards.....I had it perfect... Told him limbs are probably shot.....seen him today limbs spit....had to make contraption to fire xbow with frayed limbs...his third set of limbs...warranty.. But still unreliable..... Crossbow are effective but disposable....

I absolutely love my Airsaber.. It shoots so constantly.. It never breaks... Ahhh I have to go waste my money again on my third crossbow... Wish regulations would change.... Crossbow s are a disposable item sadly.... Airsaber so .much more friendly to use being semi handicap..... My last crossbow I recycled when the limbs broke and no parts available..... Its now a stock for my .510 Texan....
It must be time to spray again. I woke up and walked to the bathroom, slipped on my pajama pants (that were lying on the floor) and whack! I got stung in the ass by a bark scorpion 🦂 Kinda funny, except for the pain in my ass.
L.Leon
What a way to wake up, getting stung on your butt cheek… Ouch! I bet that perked you right up, no coffee necessary.🙀🙈🤓

Heh, that will light up your backside, eh? Good you are not further down south.

@Michael That sucks. I've gotten into the shower in the morning and as I moved to rinse the soap from my face I felt something small and sort of rigid underfoot. It wasn't a piece of soap, that was obvious. So I carefully shifted my weight to not put too much on that foot, but didn't want to lift it until I could open my eyes. It was exactly what I thought it was, a scorpion. I kicked some water on it which moved it towards the drain. Since it didn't sting me, once I finished showering I got a jar, collected it from the shower floor, and tossed it outside. I think it may have fallen from the ceiling because it was not on the shower floor when I got in. This time of year I check my pillow, bed sheets, and a lot of times my shoes and slippers before getting into them, using them, or putting them on. Last month I shook one out of a pant leg that was lying on the floor. They come in my home behind the spiders to eat them. I don't mind the scorpions much, but then again I haven't been stung. How long did it take for the pain to subside?

Very nice, well done! It reminds me of a "logo" I burn into slingshot handles when I make one.

Thanks OS. The usual from my shop is laser pyrography, but this is mixed media. Multi layered cardboard cut and glued on to stained wood and repurposed fence wire. The third dimension added by the depth of the cardboard was one of my goals.

Sadly that do not seem like my family, where people drift apart ASAP, and mind you for no reason, its not like we get in each others hair all the time.
BUT ! i still like the design / concept, that is the way it should be,,,, family first.
Got rough grinding done on a new batch of knives today. I call this model the 'SW' after a friend of mine who had one like it and I loved the compact design so I made a template.

These are all roughed out for now. I will heat treat and temper back and then can finish grind and then... hand sanding before attaching scales. After curing, can finish grind the scales and hand sand those. I played around a bit with some different grinds and also different pin sizes. Two of them will get brass bolsters and a couple have lanyard holes in them.

For scales, I'll be using some G10, Cocobolo, Walnut, and will dig through my scale supplies to see what else I might use.

Also throwing up a serving tray I did with resin and maple and a wall plaque for a buddy of mine who is a Marine vet. Finished those last week and have another one that I'm working on. Note that on the walnut piece this was after the initial coat of oil and so that walnut sucked in quite a bit. I've since added several more coats to make the finish more uniform.

...and tossing in a pic of my last two bowls I turned. One was cracked quite a bit so filled in with resin. and finally a pic of my first, and likely last, Karambit. A complete pain to grind. Scales are carbon fiber resin with a CA glue finish. I picked carbon fiber out of my fingers for days. Never again.

I wish i was able to beat on hot steel again like in my youth.

Even if right now Denmark is about to get its #2 knife law due to criminals using knifes often in their fight for the drug market.
Of course as we too have poor politicians, these laws will most likely have a bigger impact on law abiding citizens than the criminals, for whom 2 weeks in jail are like a holiday.
Mr.H
Nice blanks! What kind of steel do you use? Have you tried Magnacut yet? Like your bowl, too. I'm gearing up to get a lathe.
Rob_in_NC
@Peashooter .... we ALL have piss poor politicians who support laws that have a bigger impact on law abiding citizens than criminals. By default, criminals dont follow laws. Sad to see

@Mr.H Those are 1084. Easy to heat treat. I tend to use 1074, 1084, 1095 or 5160 for most knives I make. 5160 is easiest to come by for scrap when forging, but it's harder to forge than others. Gives a good workout! As for a lathe, I can offer advice if you are newer to wood lathes. I'm on my third upgrade in 2 years so you can learn from my mistakes. Reach out via PM and we can chat if you'd like.
Seem like i am also a pretty decent long distance pellet slinger.

After playing a little today with the slugs, and the wind dying down a little, i figured why not try pellets too.
But i did change from 86 M to the even Steven 80 M distance.

Mind you, you still had to pay attention to the wind, at least if you wanted to hold all of your shots on the 2" target.
As it can be seen in the picture that was also true with the slugs.
Also you have to remember my wind indicators are leaves on trees at targets and then the tall grass in the field.

So i paused long range for a hour focussing on 50 M where a shot a 50 yard BR paper, but i am not going to share that as really it was no good at all.
So when the wind had died down a little more i changed to 80 M again for the remainder of my targets, and i quickly learned that the speed i shot 50 M with, it was no good at 80 M.
Actually i ended up shooting the JSB heavy pellets as speeds i dident even think worked for them, but at 80 M it was sort of OK.
Sort off, CUZ i still had the wind to work with and the ever changing POI on my Maverick i have to chase around with the scope.

BUT ! all things considering i am still pretty happy with the 400 slugs and few 100 pellets i spent at the range today.

IMG_20230909_165320.jpg

I still wish i was able to shoot heavier stuff, even if it was just the next up caliber of .22
L.Leon
Looks like you had a good time, that is a lot of shooting in one session.👍
This was my pig pen a few years back. Think a garden next spring. Took down the fence, electric fence wire and pig house this year.

The fertility of the ground should be very good from all the pig manure....I have had pretty good luck with deep mulching gardening. I would cover with card board this year and cover with organic material of your choice. Wood chips from Tree services or hay straw ...leaf mulch.. Avid grower if you need any advice.. Good work!!
The dog said, "cease fire"!

You have to “obey” when the range master calls a “cease fire” and gives you that, its pup walking time look. Or, come over here and rub ma belly…
Beer Nap
Actually the dog is saying cease and desist until you rub my belly enough.
