  • Question
Red filter that fits the Olight Odin?

I own an Olight Odin flashlight and was surprised to learn that there is no red filter made specifically for that model (29 mm bezel diameter). I'm hunting rats at night and really need to find one. Does anyone have a workaround? If I could find a filter that's just slight larger, say, 32 mm, I suppose I could fill the gap with some tape to get the filter to stay on the flashlight.

  • Question
Can you just leave the fill probe in the airguns seal and go shoot?

Also if the pcp is leaking from the seal... Wouldnt letting the fill probe in the seal stop the leaking? Wouldnt the problem be "solved" or the rifle wouldnt let you shoot while having a leaking problem even if the seal is blocked?
(This just randomly came through my mind I dont have air leak porblem lol)

  • Question
Tanks Alot

Total noob question. I currently own this compressor and I shoot a gauntlet .30 (which has a 4500 psi tank) I’m looking to get a scuba tank for range days. I read that you’re not supposed to fill a tank larger than 1.5 L with this compressor. Can anyone recommend a tank for me to get? Perhaps with a link. I don’t really know what I should be looking for, any additional information would be greatly appreciated. I’m fairly new to this. TIA

  • Question
Last question on hand pumping

Lets say I buy the Hatsan Blitz at .30cal... And lets say that the Blitz needs aprox 300 pumps to go from 120 bar to 250... A filled Blitz at .30 will give 100 shots filled to 250bar... So if I just want to shoot 10 or 20 pellets only... I would have to pump ±30 times for 10 and ±60 for 20 from 120bar? Or because it is low pressure it gives less shots per pump meaning I would need more pumps for these 10 or 20 shots? Thank you

  • Question
Max shots at optimal velocity vs max shots per fill?

Hello everyone... I am thinking of buying a Hatsan Blitz .25 (or .30 I am not sure yet). The main reason I want it is because I will be filling it with hand pump so in comparison with other pcps where they shoot 20-30 shots per fill this pcp with 100+ shots seems to be ideal. (It also has decent power for its price). I saw that Hatsan says the Blitz shoots around 100+ shots at *optimal velocity*.... And my question is... How many decent shots could it shoot after the first 100 optimal shots? Lets say the first 100 have around ±700 fps... How many more shots until it reaches for example 600 fps or 550? Or it doesnt work like that? And lets say I only shoot the 100 optimal velocity ones... How much air would be left in the tank? How many pumps would I need to fill the rifles tank back to max in comparison to the tank being completely empty? I am new in pcps and english is not my main language so I am a little bit confused. I hope someone can explain to me... Thank you

  • Question
How to mount a tactical flashlight on a Benjamin Marauder .22 caliber rifle

I own a Benjamin Marauder .22 caliber rifle (BP2264S) with a Holosun red dot and magnifier mounted on a dovetail to picatinny rail adapter on top of the rifle. I'd like to add a tactical flashlight, but there's no room on the pic rail, and even if there was, it would be in the way of the red dot, of course. Does anyone have a trick for mounting a flashlight elsewhere on the rifle? If there is a way to attach it to the top of the Holosun HM3X magnifier, that might work best, but I'm at a loss as to how I would attach it stably (I'd rather not MacGyver it). Does anyone have advice on this?

  • Question
AEA SS .25 CAL.

Can someone please help me? I have an AEA ss .25 cal. With a standard 3600 lb. Tank. It wont hold air, when I get to about 1000 psi it sounds like its shooting on full auto and it loses all air out of the barrel.. if I stop filling at 500 psi, it will hold it until I cock it, then it loses all the air. Has anybody had this problem and can I fix it myself? Thank you for reading...

  • Question
Has anyone mounted a sightmark wraith on a Dreamline tactical or should I stay conventional?

So... Since I do not care much for the Athlon Talos 3-12 which I purchased for my springer and dropped it on my dreamline tactical (not the compact) for the interim. I dislike the clarity and the fact that I can see the baffle or lens retainer. Its distracting.

I've been searching for a different optic for hunting and fun, Testing this new dreamline proves I've developed a flinch, so I imagine I will spend a lot of time on this optic and rifle to correct this. I am budgeting 800-900 American beer tokens for this part of the project.

Most of my shots will be under 70 feet so a low power optic with wide view is ideal. Especially on moving targets a little magnification to see if the rock pigeons around hear have leg bands since my new neighbor has racing pigeons. I have binoculars ...

I was set on the Vortex PST 2-10x32 but am not sure if I can get the light gathering I'm used to with 44mm objective lenses. I am also looking at the viper pst 3-15x44 For that reason. Neither optic goes below 20 yards for parallex adjustment (I'm not sure if it matters as every rimfire optic I used for small game was 100yd fixed, race guns were similar) and with my higher power vipers I use on powder burners, I don't see any focus changes with that knob anyway. I cannot afford the nightforce shv 3-12x42 which is about perfect. $1600 is to much.

I hate second focal plane because any milldot or ranging retical is for some reason always set to maximum magnification. I seldom go above 6x for anything but paper. If I do, its for identification when to much movement of switching to binoculars is to much. It looks like in most cases first focal plane is not all that great for what I want to do either as the reticle is always small. Vortex confirmed this for the pst 2-10 but its illumination may act like a red dot....

Most of the forum favorites do not appeal to me. I will never buy another leapers/UTG or BSA if I can help it. Athlon has not impressed me with the milky view and lack of email responses from customer service.

I was sitting here looking at my options and since I have to mail order about every option since all local dealers only stock the cheapest version of anything. (Locals will spend $3k on a rifle but put a $39.95 optic on it and hate it wanting to sell the whole works for $5k) I thought it might be fun to be able to record video and sound. While for an extra $600 I can with tacticam I can on most conventional optics.

I loved the features of the ATN pro day/night but the reviews are less than stellar. Every single local predator hunter will shy away from ATN in general, they owned them and went to pulsar for a reason. I definitely cannot afford a thermion xp50 lrf either.

Now... WI law only allows weapon lights and hunting lights at point of kill on foot. Ive hunted at night and got a handle on most of this. Its a bit difficult to use the night vision here as its considered a light. Most if not all the guys rock thermals because they cannot use illuminator until the animal is there. It may be hard to prove innocence with the warden as well, it appears the wardens do no answer emails either. But the wraith will run in daylight and with a quick attatch mount this unit can work as a monocular if the cows get out. So primary use would be daylight so its a little easier to justify the cost. Outright the cows escaping isn't enough to just buy one.

I like the 4k wraith setups. I'm not sure if I would go with the mini or the full size. I like the full size better but I do not like the non serviceable battery. Its also unfortunate that these will not run below freezing.

So kind of curios if anyone could make it work. The rail on the dreamline tactical raises up quite a bit to clear the magazine, I still had to add medium rings to get the talos to clear the stock rail. If I could not get the eye relief to work out, I would have to raise it higher yet. I see wisconsin airgunners on YouTube mounted one on an impact but the standard Hogue collapsible stock does not allow much for raising the comb height. The wraith options have a fixed and unknown height.

.25 cal POWER!

what fps/fpe do you like to shoot your .25?

I’ve been messing with my regulator pressure a lot and can’t seem to find the best leave it there spot yet.

I have the leshiy 2 with 350mm barrel shooting around 170 bar at around 60-65fpe I have a few different ammunition that’ll give me very different results and speeds but my goal is to tune it to a very powerful, efficient state where I can throw it in a backpack go hunting for the day and not to refill my 300cc tank so far air efficiency hasn’t been a problem I can get around 40 shots before I drop below 130 bar out of this 350mm barrel not too bad. Also have some issues with groupings but yet it’s hard to really solve that since I have a crappy scope so not sure if it’s the gun or that But I figured I need to start with jets. Maybe sizes .2/.2 and another pair of .5/5 and try those two sizes out but I also can’t get my hands on them.. anyway
I’m not too sure how other guns regulate pressure but some info on .25 cal what what’s best Speed to shoot them at and how you like to save air etc..
I’m currently shooting avs 254 34gr and hades 26gr

To turn a SMALL bottle gun into a BIG bottle gun....

🔸 To turn an air TUBE gun into a BOTTLE gun....
🔸 To turn a SMALL bottle gun into a BIG bottle gun....

➔ For that, we need something like a Bottle-Step-Down Adapter — because bottles/ bigger bottles have a larger diameter and otherwise would not fit under the shroud. 😟

I've seen those adapters for the Avenger, the Prod, and a genius made one for a PP700 once.
There is even an OEM by FX for its Dreamline.

🔷 Retorical questions:
▪ Why are there not more adapters and step-down-adapters available — OEM or aftermarket?

▪ Why do manufacturers mount the bottles so close to the shroud that only small diameter bottles can be used?

🔷 Real question:
Would someone make a step-down adaptor (for the RTI Prophet I Compact Performance)?
How hard can this be? (Yes, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to engineering, please use fuel sparingly when flaming me, remember the outrageous fuel prices.)

Matthias

The photo shows how the adapter steps down the air reservoir connector in order to allow a large diameter bottle to be mounted, instead of a small diameter air tube (Dreamline).

My personal journey was all over the "range finding map," I think I've used at least 3 methods over the course of time.... 🤣
