Time to tinker

Got the Crosman Drifter bundle a while back; Liking it alot. Added a steel breech and a small scope. Had to get the Buck-rail.com suppressor because....i wanted it🤣Drilled/countersank holes for stock to be affixed with pistol grip screws. Adding camo details. But before I go.too far; I want more pressure per pump. I know there is kits for more pumping and such....
I'm specifically looking for which parts I would need to have the gun pump less per shot but still retain decent velocities...

*newbie at tinkering*
Thanks in advance for comments!🤙

Suggestions for Clubs or Organizations to Introduce Children to Airguns in San Mateo County, CA

I recently spoke to an East Texas land owner about his desire to teach his 9 year-old grandson to shoot and hunt. I suggested maybe starting with airguns and he said he’d already bought him a BB gun. I further explained some basic distinctions of modern airguns and said it might not be a bad idea to introduce his grandson to some sort of hunting course and shooting instruction. The problem is that the boy is in San Mateo county California. I’m under the impression that it’s not a place with a proliferation of child-friendly shooting sports or organizations.

Personally I don’t know anything about airgun organizations, shooting ranges, or airgun clubs in that area. The closest I’ve seen on here is the Diablo Rod & Gun Club that hosts field target matches in Concord, Ca. which is in Contra Costa County. A brief search engine search revealed that the distance between Concord and San Mateo county is about 53 miles and takes approximately 2 hours, a horrendous travel time for a seemingly short distance. I recall mentioning the venue to him to at least consider taking the boy to watch a FT match or something to gauge his interest. He said he was looking for something closer. This man is in his 80s so I can understand why he may not want to drive so long.

Any members in the San Francisco
Bay Area, more specifically San Mateo county, have any suggestions for a venue or organization that’s child friendly and closer that would seem fitting of the above situation?

finding parts for old BSA springer

I own an old BSA springer I've had for probably close to 30 years. It's in .177 and stills shoots at about 700 psi with very good accuracy.
I would like to rebuild it but have no idea what model it is { no markings} or where to even obtain parts. Serial number is WD01584. Any advice would be most helpful.
Thank you

Hill EC3000 wont start

Have a fairly new EC3000 with 5 hours on it. Today while filling my Leshiy 2 the compressor shut down early at about 209 bar. The compressor was not hot.

When I tried to restart it barely started then depressurized with check mark appeared on screen….. bleed screw was tight. Have shut down and restarted but now when I press the dial to start it automatically comes up depressurized and nothing compressor does not start. Have emailed Hill… just curious if anyone has had similar problem

Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph App

I have a Caldwell Ballistic Chronograph that I have been using since 2020. I just went to connect it to the app and the app just opens and closes right away. Looking at the reviews on apple’s app store and it seem lots of people are having this problem. The last time I used it was back in July 2022 and today, no go. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I was going to reinstall the app and was met with the message that all my data will be deleted. At this point I chose not to delete it yet and to see if there is a chance it can be fixed.

Whats The Quietest PCP You Have Shot?

So I have had a bunch of pcps now some low middle and now high end ones. I have shifted my needs and kind of want the quietest I can get. I have been doing some pest stuff and want it as quiet as can be. I may just be spoiled with my 10fpe dreamtac that I can shoot at anytime because it's that quiet. I have a dreamtac, crown, impact, veteran, and a L2. Even moderated is fine just looking to see what others have found.

Tuning  24 inch barrel for Condor SS

I have a Condor SS in 25 cal with an 18" barrel but I am thinking about changing to a 24" barrel. My question is how much increase in velocity and horse power can I expect to gain? I don't need to know specific numbers but a percentage would be good enough. I have a rat problem that I am having a hard time with. They are getting very smart and I need to get more distance so they don't spook so easily.

Scope torque values?

Have a Benjamin Prowler and a Gamo Shadow Maxxim with bipod, both springers. What are you guys torquing your Springer scopes to?
I know the springers have hellacious recoil, so I figure it would be tighter than say a PCP or CO2.
Right now I am tightening them down snug, then a half turn on each , tight, but not stupid tight. This seems to work fine, but my OCD won't allow that 🤣I want the peace of mind knowing it's where it should be . Any help or advice is appreciated, thank you.

P.S. off topic, but check out my new sig CO2 !

Gathering Equipment Questions.

Hello all, I am new to the hobby & anticipating the purchase of an AEA HP SS MAX .357cal. Before I purchase the gun I want to get everything I need in hand to use it. I am asking for some budget friendly options. I know I need something to fill with, should I start with hand pump or get a cheap compressor? I would also like to practice with it in backyard so am thinking I need a suppressor. Any suggestions to help me start off on the right foot are greatly appreciated.

Underlever Underpower

I shoot break barrels but I want to have accuracy benefits of a fixed barrel. (Trust me, I'm a scientist and a statistician and I've studied that topic for many years under controlled conditions. Not trying to start an accuracy debate.) If you disagree, let's agree to disagree so I can get to the real point. I want superior aftermarket barrel options that simply aren't available for breakers but I want the freedom from air pumps or ill just use a powder burner.

Here's the underlever rifles I've been able to find all max out around 880 or lower fps for .22. While these speeds are maybe optimal, in terms of accuracy, it seriously limits the range and knock down power needed for humane hunting. The ground hogs see me 100yds out. I need more than 30-50yds or I can't hit them, regardless of accuracy. I want 50+yds accuracy of a fixed barrel with the power of my break barrels like my Walther Talon Magnum. If fps is too high for accuracy, I'll manage that with heavier pellets. I don't want to manage it with reduced firepower from the underlever.

If the break barrel can achieve hundreds of fps higher using the barrel as a lever, why can't an underlever do it using a dedicated cocking lever?

Cleaning PCP baffles

I have had my first PCP for just over a year. It's a Benjamin Akela .22. I LOVE IT! I've put at least 1500+ rounds thru.
It has been very accurate so far. However, I cleaned the barrel and it was still doing amazing, until I noticed it was starting to shoot to the left. I removed the shroud and cleaned the barrel again. Then I dumped out the baffles to give them a look..... YUCK! A lot of black powdery stuff came out and the baffels are coated with a fine powder.
Is this normal? How do I clean them? What are they made of?
Thank you in advance! ;-)
