First air rifle questions

Hello,

I had several pellet guns as a kid, starting with a Crosman 2100 and moving on to other inexpensive Crosman break barrel springers. After ~15 years, I'm looking at getting another rifle to do some target shooting on my property.

I know that you get what you pay for and I truly do understand that a $700 rifle is likely worth the investment, but I can't justify spending a ton of money on this so I'm looking at getting the most bang for my buck (as I'm sure everyone is). I'd like to stay under $350.

I've been pointed towards the Weihrauch HW50S as a good option for what I'm looking to do. But I'm also looking at the Flying Dragon XS46U.

It seems like a lot of people buy rifles and then tear them down and clean/tune them for better performance. I'm certainly capable of tinkering, but I'd really prefer to get something that is good to go out of the box. That is part of the appeal to the XS46U, at least in that case Mike has gone through and done the tuning.

I guess I'm looking for something that's durable, doesn't need work out of the box to perform acceptably, and is relatively accurate for the price. I'm only interested in springers or pump rifles (I've also looked at the Crosman 362 and Seneca Dragonfly but not sure about those either). I'm not interested in optics and will only be shooting with open sights.

Sorry this is kind of all over the place and I'm sure stuff like this gets asked all of the time. I have been reading a lot of info on this site and others and trying to look at all of my options.

Thanks.

Help

Hello all, I'll be quick as possible. I started with a stock Leshiy 2 repr chambered in .22 caliber. I decided to step up to .30 caliber barrel. Also added increased reservoir, now this is my problem. I cannot even shot 5 groups at 25-35 yards and its lacking power. I never found a solid tutorial of doing this what would seem simple upgrade. I have found that stock Leshiy 2's in .30 have only one jet. Anyone run into this ???

Daystate programmer problem

Has anyone ever seen this while programming your gun with a daystate programmer? I have to unplug the battery to clear it. I just started and I been working on tuning my gun. It’s never done this before. It only comes up when I plug in the programmer. The programmer will not come on either once this happens. Or while this message is up.

  • Question
weihrauch hw 100 fac unknown spring

Hi All!

I took it apart hw 100 fac 22.cal,mod 2021 50 joule.
Somwhere in a middle of taking the C1 and valve out of the block I've noticed a small but hard spring on the table
It is 10 x 4 mm according to the calipers and 0.66mm wire thickness

I have no idea out of which part did it came out and I can not find it on exploded view that I've found on the net
I have FAC version so maybe I'm looking on a wrong exploded view

It is not from the intake valve, there is a small and weak spring inside and a ball bearing

I'm thankfull for any help and info you have!

Picture attached if could be of any help

Regards, Peter

Webley MKVI .177 caliber pellet Comparisons of Models

Does anyone know how the 6 inch and 4 inch models of the Webley MKVI .177 caliber pellet revolvers compare in accuracy and range? One reviewer found the 4 inch barrel model to have slightly greater muzzle velocity but less accuracy when compared to the 6. He seemed to know what he was doing and was even a bit more accurate with the short 2 inch barrel than the 4, but admitted that might be simply because it felt better in his hand. One person commented that greater muzzle velocity can cause turbulence at the muzzel that affects a pellet's attempt at straight flight. If so, is that an odd argument for slower projectiles?

Vevor - Missing Cylinder Head Part???

I was given this Vevor
Vevor pcp-air-compressor.jpg
pcp compressor by my neighbor to look at/troubleshoot/fix. He told me it did NOT build pressure; however, I found it didn't even have any air flow. I took it apart and quickly saw that a "part or piece" was missing from the top of the cylinder head. Can anyone tell me what part I need? Tried searching for a parts diagram - found nothing. Unit powers up, fans run and compressor functions, but obvious that air is escaping out of this threaded hold. Any help would be appreciated. I'm new to pcp - on my 3rd day!

benjamin - crossman trail np mk.2 pistol sighting problems

Hello all,
I recently (yesterday) bought a benjamin trail NP mk2 pistol hoping to get a glimpse of how 10m pistol target work functions (coming from a bow background),
sadly the thing constantly shoots low, no matter what I do to the setup of the rear sight. (all the way up, until the screw simply comes off). There is no way to bend the rear sight, either, to get some extra range. I have to place my target behind the huge front sight mark, definitely not what I want as I wanted to attempt some 6-oclock targeting.
It appears to shoot a bit higher when I shoot with the extension off (harder to cock), but still low.
Any advice? thank you all in advance.
should I get something else as a cheap alternative to an "olympic" pistol? this is not what I was hoping for.

thank you in advance,
all the best,
Aristides.

Air valve question for Crosman 2240

New air valves needing break in period???

First time switching out a Crosman stock 2240 valve for more capacity (boss valve). Put it in last night. Good installation, & checked valve o-ring seated correctly between tank and breech, shot about 30 rounds to test. If anything, the gun felt a bit slower in FPS. No Chrony, but shooting 15 yards and going by ear, sounded a bit slower with target contact. Wasn't leaking air as far as I could tell. Finished up, took out the spent Co2 canister and noticed the tip wasn't punctured nearly as deep as the old valve punctured Co2 canisters. Can't even get a bulletin board pin in the hole. Wondering if the valve has to break in because of new return spring? Wouldn't think so, but I need an experienced tinker's viewpoint.

  • Question
Aea hp max .357 power adjustment.

So i have a .357 max. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a weird not-issue fill issue. When i fill the gun to anything over 250 bar my shots are only going around 300-400 fps over my chrony. If i fill to 4500psi i can put like 9 full mags at that speed and finally be around the 250 bar mark. When i shoot it at 250 bar or under im slinging 68 gr Hornady .35 round ball at 855fps and get that for about 3 shots then i start dropping about 10 or so fps like normal. Its not really an issue its just weird. An it didn't do that until after i changed the valve seal. Before the valve seal change id fill to 4500 an get 960 with the 68 gr roundball but id drop a steady 15-20 fps every shot. Its not really an issue i dont mind the lower fill but if anyone can tell me whats going on with it that would be much appreciated.

PCP Noob needs help with new Benjamin Armada... Baffle Strikes!

Hello! I recently purchased an internally suppressed Benjamin Armada. I have had a couple suppressor baffle strikes after only about 3 mags. I also noticed the gap between the barrel shroud and the air cylinder is not evenly spaced all the way down. Starting at the breech if I slide a playing card between them it gets pinched near the muzzle. The Armada uses a free floating barrel with no barrel band, is this spacing between the barrel and air cylinder normal? I first noticed it when placing the gun down the barrel shroud bumped the cylinder making a "tink" sound... And then after some questionable accuracy at only 30 yards where 50 yards wasnt an issue a few rounds ago I took the muzzle end cap off and noticed a good sized chip on the back side, I then slid out the damaged baffles and tiny bits of plastic and lead flakes... Is my gun defective? Is it correctable? Only had it 1 week today. Thanks for any help!
