Air Venturi  Avenger Lowering Regulator Pressure

Hi. When adjusting (lowering, my goal is to start at 1400 psi) the regulator pressure setting, I understand the air tank needs to be emptied. When filling, the product manual indicates filling to 4500 psi, however I don’t have that level of air pressure currently available. Is close to 3000 psi sufficient? Is the key to fill above the regulator set pressure? Thank you.

Indiana Airgunners - Please Help

Hey guys,
Hope everyone is doing well. Calling all Hoosiers to please chime in :)
So wife and I recently moved to Indiana (Marion county, Carmel/Zionsville/Fishers area) and as a new (excited) resident I'm kinda lost and I have no clue as to where to go to enjoy my hard earned Redwolf that has been locked in its case for months. I'm hoping for some friendly advice from fellow Indiana airgunners please: can anyone here guide/recommend any state forests, FWA's, open fields, shooting ranges/clubs literally anything/anywhere that is airgun friendly?? I realize that I'm centrally located and would need to travel and so I WILL, just please tell me where lol..
Any and every advise, tip, guidance, recommendation helps and is truly appreciated! 🙏 Thanks guys for your help and support and have a beautiful weekend.

Benjamin  Discovery valve block with slit wont seal huma air regulator sleeve.

First pic is my valve body. The slit keeps huma air spacer from sealing. I tried the option a and left gauge block in with front oring off. Leaked like a siv. With front oring on gauge block it seals fine but im guessing the reglator isnt working correctly.

Second pic is the smooth gauge block I need. Anyone have one to sell me. Or swap. This is a high flow valve body.
Hope this makes some sense. Thank you.

Compressor to get for "lightweight" use

Had a CS3 which I've just returned. Ran 4-5 times. Filled a Gauntlet from 0 to 3000psi. Supposed to get to 4500psi, no matter what, auto shutoff at 3000psi. Could not fill Akela from 2500 to 3000psi. Contacted mfg (no support from Amazon seller), and they wanted me to disassemble (brand new unit) and take a shutoff wire from the gauge to test the gauge. Filled out return info 5 min after that.

So I need something that will handle up to 4500psi (future "growth"). Light use, these are target/plinking/small varmint use - I'm not filling bottles, and not shooting hundreds of shots when I shoot. Shooting once or twice a month.

What can be recommended in the $400-500 range (or less), that will last a few years for this purpose? And, if possible, post links to your suggestion(s)

N/A  New to Airguns Shooter

I’m an experienced powder burner shooter, but have a few “very basic “ questions about my HW30.
1. Is there a safe way to uncock the rifle or is loading a pellet and discharging it the only/best way?
2. Is cocking the rifle the easiest way to get access to clean the barrel from the breach? This is why I’m asking question #1. I’m using a Patchworm and Ballistol.
3. What and where are the lubrication points? Use oil, light grease, or Ballistol?
I love the gun, it’s lived up to everything everyone on this forum‘s has said, e.g., easy to cock, very accurate, outstanding build quality. Thanks in advance for your comments, Tom

  • Question
What are the best ways to minimize water accumulation in air tanks, and getting water out if it eventually does?

EDIT: For anyone who comes across this thread and would like more detailed information on all of the answers below, here in another great thread on the subject:
https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/tuxing-filter-which-one-for-yong-heng.1271604/

ORGINAL POST:

The answers to these questions might be very simple:
"Use a large desiccant filter when filling tanks." (like this?: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LKYXBYS)
and
"Depressurize the tanks, remove valves, poor out water, let dry."

But I'm curious if there are other methods, and what specific products/methods other people use. I want to learn how take good care of all my equipment.

SPECIFICS:
I have a compressor from Amazon called the GX CS3 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0819ZH85H
It has been working well for over a year. I use it to fill a 100cc Air Venturi tank.
Recently the humidity on the Southern California coast jumped much higher than normal for a few days - to around 80-90%. It's usually very dry. I used the compressor a lot on these humid days. I noticed that it was getting much more difficult to twist open/close the valve on the AirVenturi tank. I was also noticing a little water dripping from the fill ports after filling the gun. And when I bleed the line there's a very visible spray of fine mist condensing in the air and/or being released from the line.

Thanks for any info/suggestions.

FX  Impact M3 leaks out barrel

My M3 leaks out the barrel from about 230 down to 200 or so. It shoots well and at a certain point it will usually stop by itself. More recently this past Saturday while shooting a 100 yd match, it would make a light pop sound, like a little burp and be leaking out the barrel. Accuracy doesn't seem to suffer as I had two groups of 5 shots in the ten ring and nothing worse than 8, even missed one shot and scored 447\500.
Now, if I close the valve adjustment to zero, the leak will stop. Sometimes this tops it even after I open the valve to almost 4 open, other times, it just starts leaking again. I have replaced all the O rings and the valve rod and seat as well with no improvment. I did recently add oil thru filling air plus a couple small drops into the breach. I even removed second reg gauge and put in a couple small drops of oil just to see if it would solve the problem. I can't say for sure this helped or not. If it did, it was short lived. Any ideas?

Other  Barra 1866 not holding air

NEWB here. Great looking website.
I picked up a Barra Cowboy 1866. It doesn't hold air. During each pump I can hear the hiss of leaking air near the "bolt".
I have the "bolt" as far back as it will go and the safety on.
Any advice what might be the problem before I start taking this thing apart to investigate?

Gauntlet.30 fill valve

Does anybody know the specifics on the inside O-ring for the fill valve on the gauntlet .30. Or where I can get a replacement fill port. Umarex will not sell me one directly or give me specifics. Instead they want me to send in my entire rifle and pay for return shipping on a warrantied rifle

Air Arms  TX200 Lube Question

I have an almost new TX200HC.
I ordered and received(in 5 days) a TinBum Short Stoke tune kit from TinBum in England.
I'm getting ready to install it and I'm going to use Krytox instead of TinBum's moly lube that came with the kit.
I have cleaned all of the old lube out of the gun completely, but have a question:

Do I lube the outside of the compression tube where it slides back and forth in the receiver when cocking? There was a very thin film of something on it when I removed it and in the receiver, but I thought that may have just been the moly from the spring and piston that dispersed though firing the gun.

I have it all so clean now, that I'm being extremely careful about where and how much I lube with the Krytox.
I've looked at dozen's of threads both here and on the other forums regarding tuning a TX200, but nothing has ever been mentioned about lubing the outside of the compression tube where it slides in the receiver when cocking the gun.
I guess that I could call/email TimBum, but wanted ya'lls opinion please.
Thanks in advance.

Other  Best all around PCP

Ok so here it is. I just got into PCP air guns. I shot powder guns and hunted from the time I could follow my dad around in the woods hunting squirrels Rabit Deer Etc. In my early 40's I just got tired of it one day and quit for whatever reason. I quit shooting all together till one day I ran into a video of the Air Venturi Avenger by accident. It took me about a year to talk myself into it but finally did it and now I'm excited to get back into this. But and a big but I'm not overall crazy about the Avenger it's a "tinker's gun" I'm not into that I already have a buyer in mind so there's no issue there but now I need to replace it. I'm looking for a rifle that can do it all without a lot of fuss. Whether its just a day of shooting off the bench or hunting I want something that just works. I was considering the FX Impact but I see a lot of mixed emotions out of what's supposed to be the best air rifle ever made. I know I want .25 cal thats for sure and I know I am only worried about pellets not slugs because I will never use it to shoot anything bigger then a squirrel. I think $2500 will be my limit money wise want to see what the experienced experts say. Thanks.
