Airforce  Airforce Texan o - rings

So I am trying to find out if anyone knows what size o - rings are in the standard Airforce Texan 457? Any information is greatly appreciated. What I'm trying to do is replace the Airforce standard o - rings with green helium rated o - rings so I can shoot dry air , nitrogen gas as well as helium when I want that extra power when deer hunting for flatter shooting slugs at longer distances and obviously more fpe. Yeah I know I could get the T - Rex in 457 and that's the plan but for now helium will do the job if I can figure the size the o - rings are in the standard Texan long air rifle 457. Thanks for any information given in advance. Much appreciated.

Crosman  Breath New Life into Crosman 2240

Hello,
I have had this Crosman 2240 collecting dust and I was thinking about a project to upgrade it. I still want to keep it as a CO2 powered pistol, but I was thinking about adding a new receiver that would accommodate a barrel shroud. I'm hoping I can make it a little quieter for shooting in my shop. There are not a lot of options for high breeches, and they are also quite expensive. Do people have any suggestions? I have some machinist friends. Are there CAD files around that one could acces?

Thanks!

Daystate  Daystate Pulsar HP .177 Need Help on settings PLEASE

So I put together the DIY Daystate programmer and wanted to tune it a bit but when I ran the program it seems pretty freaking high already!

At High Setting it is shooting 13.43g JSB Knockouts at 978 fps..... and shoots 16.5g Varmint Knockers @ 894 fps.

At medium setting it is shooting 10.03 JSB MK3's at 1018 fps

I wanted to set the High setting a bit higher to get the 16.5g Varmint Knockers shooting at 980+ fps but with settings already so high is that feasible.

FX  Funny thing with this Chrono

This is my Chinese-made cheap chrono. It was working pretty well with my 300mm barrel, until I upgraded it to 500mm. I'm using an FX Dreamtact. I've tried indexing the liner, and now it can read slugs (11 grain). Pellets (10.34gr) have to be tuned down pretty low, below 650fps for it to read. As for slugs, it has no problem reading any velocity. This is a bit perplexing for me. Can anybody help me out?

Macavity Arms  MA2 regulator question.

Hello.
I am replacing my brother‘s air tube on his MA2 .30 cal. with the new version. I figured while I was in there I might as well polish and lube the reg. The problem is as I disassembled the reg some of the belleville washers did not come out on the post and now I have no idea which way they were turned. Some help please, I couldn’t find any info on here or on Macavity’s site. Following is what I think the stack might be but not positive. ))(())(())(())(( Thanks

FX  FX WILDCAT gen 1

i degassed my wildcat today to add a reg in place of the brass plug. filled it up seemed to hold air pit ear next to gauge. went back to check on it 4 or 5 hrs. later and 0 pressure. so i gassed it up again. its leaking past the oring on the breech end of the cylinder? didnt touch that. my question is , by degassing does this sometimes happen where orings are compressed and just dont seal again.?
next question……
the parts list shows the oring as a 23mm x 2.5mm. is the 23 inner or outer dia. not sure how fx sizes.
thanks!

Air Arms  TX200 Breech Tube crushed

The compression tube has squished itself into a pancake style burr. Of course this has also damaged the oring. There does not seem to be any damage on the barrel side, except some light marring of the finish.

Should I locate a replacement compression tube or take the part out and file it down?

1 oring was removed to take this picture and the gun has under 1,000 pellets.

RTI  Rti Prophet

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on buying a .22 air rifle.

I prefer compact models and came across the RTI Prophet series.

Now I have the option of purchasing either the Prophet1 Compact Performance or the newer P3 Compact.

Which do you think would be the better choice?

Also, does anyone know if you can mount a larger bottle (for example a Leishy 350cc) on the Prophet Compact models?

Best regards,

Max

EDgun  Leshiy 2 Noob Seeking Advice

Hi,

First post. I hope this is the right place!

I'm considering purchasing a .177 Leshiy 2 Short (REPR-X) with a 250 mm barrel. I would use it primarily for backyard plinking and secondarily for pest control.

I am somewhat concerned about being a noisy neighbor. Would anyone please comment on how loud this Leshiy 2 is likely to be?

I'm also considering mounting a thermal sight on the Leishi 2. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good thermal sight based on experience?

Does anyone have experience with this configuration? I would love to hear any details that you might wish to share!

Thanks for reading this far!

  • Question
MOA ?

If I am understanding correctly, MOA is equal to 1 inch at 100 yards. So, when setting a scope at 100 yards the squares on the target are 1 inch and thus let you know how many clicks to turn the scope adjustments. So, in my case I am setting my scope to 25 yards. (Due to poor eyesight) even at this close range in order for me to see the small target/pest I have to use a scope. So, should I perhaps use graph paper with 1/4-inch squares as a sight in target to make the adjustments? Still trying to get a tight 5 shot group smaller than a dime. A steady shooting platform I am sure would help also.

Thanks for your feedback.

  • Question
Cross eye dominant

I'm new to air rifles. Had a Slavia 618 breakbarrel as a kid looong ago. Shot many handguns over the years, and the F-15's M61A1 20mm gun for 3+ years in Okinawa. Now retired, I'm interested in getting rid of some pesky squirrels.

Learning to shoot lefty is not an option due to a slight defect on my left retina, even though it is my dominant eye. And using a traditional scope is a one-eye process as well, which won't work for me. I need to use both eyes, ergo a red-dot. I became reasonably good with handguns using a red-dot sight and both eyes. However I've been told by some knowledgeable airgunners that gas ram and spring piston rifles will destroy a red-dot.

So I'm looking for suggestions, maybe some combinations, from you dedicated airgunners. The red-dot I have is a Holosun 403B. I want a quality rifle and was considering a breakbarrel Weihrauch. I'd also like something mid-sized that my grandson could learn. Not a big fan of the extra equipment required of PCP or CO2 but these damn squirrels may dictate otherwise. Thanks in advance for your input.

  • Question
Karma  Red Panda 2025 Cal.30 Setup 100 Yard anyone can help?

Hello everyone,

I am currently breaking in my 2025 Red Panda.

Pellet version Cal. 30

The setup on Karma's website does not work for me, the dispersion circle is relatively large.

(AEA Center Punch 50.5 gr.)

I am now using the following setup:

Regulator 2: 2100 PSI

Hammer spring: 3.5

974 FPS

When I go further back with the hammer spring, the FPS decreases and the dispersion circle increases; when I go higher with the hammer spring, the FPS increases, but so does the dispersion circle.

I don't think the regulator and hammer spring setup is quite right yet.

Does anyone have a good setup or an idea of what I should try next?

Thanks for your help and best regards to all.
