JTS  Bolt catch snapped

Picsart_24-06-08_14-41-46-893.jpg

So I purchased a heavy hammer spring for my airicuda and I'd say it was a little to heavy. Backed all the way out it did shoot faster for the first 5 shots but then I went to cock it back and SNAP POW something sounded broken bolt went limp. Took it apart and seen that the little piece that pulls the hammer back ofcourse to my luck had snapped. I'm working with the guy who sold me the spring he says he can make a stainless piece that threads in but I don't see any threads. Anyone have any idea how I could fix this? Jb weld maybe?

UPDATE!!
I've removed the broken screw from the threads with an easy out bit #1
Alien Airguns on eBay is going to send a reinforced replacement pin bolt catch thingy. Shout out to that guy.🤘

Diana  Soft Transport Case for Diana Bandit

Fellow Pistoleros--- What are you folks using to transport your Diana Bandit or similar pistol (w/moderator) back/forth to the range? I'm looking for a decent soft case for this purpose. The Boyt case for the TC Contender pistol is just a little short, works OK though, for my Chaser pistol w/moderator. I do like the Boyt, but it's just a little short both on length and height to clear the moderated and scoped Bandit. My moderated and red-dotted Chaser fits in there nicely, though. You know, it's always SOMETHING.... Open for suggestions.

N/A  Where to begin

I'm thinking of getting started with PCP. I've got fairly extensive experience with powder burners and reloading, and I've played around with pumps and break barrels since I was a kid, but I know very, very little about PCP. Just reading through the forum tends to make my eyes glass over and my head spin. I'm retired military, pilot by trade, so I can handle the technical aspects as long as I can get a good foundation started. Any suggestions on where to begin the knowledge quest?

  • Question
300yd optic

Hi!
I'm building up my 1st PCP; an FX Panthera in .25 (600 or 700) with the expectation of doing some long range shooting. I have 2 questions for anyone with long range air rifle experience:

1) What is the max effective range of a .25 air rifle? (How far out can you reasonably expect to maintain minute-of-pigeon accuracy and still have the force to do the job)

2) What magnification would you prefer (a reasonable min/max magnification)

Thanx!

Carbon fiber tank question

I own an inexpensive but functional and convenient $160 compressor from Amazon (https://a.co/d/8sHtOTR). I use it to fill my PCP rifles at my gun club. It’s LOUD even though it is a gun club and folks are shooting some loud rounds! I now see, however, what an advantage a carbon fiber fill tank would offer. I will study the issue so as to get other questions answered on my own but for now I would welcome responses to one question, please:

Can these modest compressors fill an Air Venturi tank without overheating or breaking due to the amount of air the tanks require? Or are professional sources - like “scuba shops” - really the only safe way to fill them? Thanks.

AEA  Aea hp semi auto td 25cal

How do you guys like the aea hp semi auto td ?
I’ve had mine for a couple years now.i took the time to rope the scope all the way out to 140 yards I left it set for a while, picked it up and it’s 10 yards off on the scope dope stickers now. It’s a fun little gun but looks like I’ll have to dole it all over again

  • Question
Tuning  Decreasing Hammer Spring Increased speed???🤔

I have a pcp that shoot great with 18.3gr pellets. Less than 2/3 of an inch at 55 yards with pellets. But the projectiles I wanna shoot are slugs. Not high gr ones but 20-23gr ones because I don't wanna be shooting a motor with my 20-37ft-lb gun(no matter how I mod it, I don't get more than that and I gave up). As I was tuning for shooting slugs, I found out that my gun doesn't like shooting those slugs at high speed. So, I tried to find the highest speed I can get without getting grouping more than 2 inches at 50 yards. While I was tuning, I found out that at 1800 psi regulator set point and up, decreasing Hammer Spring results in increased speed. I found that out because I have the hammer spring tension highest while adjusting the regulator then reduce the hammer spring little by little for each regulator set point. As far as I know, normally, shouldn't the speed decrease with the hammer spring tension decrease?
I've been pondering on this one for like a week now and couldn't figure it out. So, I posted here hoping that someone would have an answer to that.

My gun specs.
18 inch 1:16 left twist barrel in 22 cal.
1800 psi is mostly the pressure I set on reg.
The air out hole on valve, I think called port, was 4.5mm but I drilled it to be 6mm.
Transfer way (the part on action block that connect the port to the transfer port behind the barrel is around 4.3mm and I cannot find a way to increase it because the hole is unreachable with a drill.
The brass transfer port is the kind with two elongated holes with a bridge between them. Total dimension of the holes should be around 6-7mm.
Using probe with small pin that push the pellets/slugs in. (Slug probe??)
My hammer has short stiff spring that reaches its normal state 6-8mm before the hammer hit the valve. I've recorded the hammer in action in slow motion and I don't see hammer bouncing between spring and valve.
