Western Airguns  Which moderstor does the Western Sidewinder come with?

I ordered my Sidewinder from Airguns of Arizona about 2- yesrs ago. When I got it, I ordered 2 extra magazines and I asked them if they had any other recommendations, to which they replied, get a moderator. I asked which kind. They said they only offer one. So I added it to the list.

Everything arrived all stuffed into one of the pockets of that soft case it came with. I had assumed that they installed the new moderator and stuffed the other one in the pocket. But I've never been sure.
20250401_054943.jpg
It arrived with the one on the left. But the adapter seems to be adhered to the shroud, as if it came that way from the factory. ..and I can't get the adapter to unscrew from the carbon fiber one on the right, as if it was installed that way from the factory. ..and I did have to buy an adapter.

I can see them using red Loctite at the factory. But that would be kind of ballsy for AOA to put red lock tight on an adapter that I didn't even tell them to install. And if that's the case, why not on the moderator? no other paperwork came with it. I've been stumped this whole time

Daisy  I was gifted 2 air pistols, a Beeman 800 and a Daisy 717. I need some help please.

Hello, this is my first post so i hope it's ok to ask some questions.

A very dear friend gifted me 2 air pistols to keep me busy and active during my cancer therapy. It's hard to do a lot of stuff we usually do together.

I dry fired the Daisy 717 a few times and it sounded fine... so i then tested it with a few projectiles.

The 717 shot very weak....and i could hear a little bit of rattling which didn't sound right.

I reviewed a video to learn how to disassemble the pistol but its very dark, tough to see fine details.

What i could find is that the wide bushing had disintegrated, almost to dust.

More worrisome is a little piece of plastic that looks like it broke off the rear sight....there is a tab that makes a right angle heading back up the rear sight base.

I guess i need new rings/bushings and a rear sight...are these available?

Also, where is there someplace to download a manual for the pistol. I found one for the 717 but it doesn't show assembly/disasemby and i can't find any for the Beeman 800.

Appreciate any leads and information as to how best to care for them and anything else i should purchase. I would very much like to use them.

thank you.

RTI  RTI P1 (performance) leaking air only when cocking handle pulled back

Hey guys - subject says it. This is a new one to me. I pull the handle back to load the next round and "hisssssss" I can hear air escaping. It's not dumping out - but it *is* most definitely losing air. I push the cocking arm fwd to load the next round - it's fine. Valve? I haven't dug into it yet - but will be. Thoughts?

Stoeger  How low can a PCP regulator be set

New PCP shooter with a Stoeger XM1 scout .22. I'm having a lot of fun with this guy but have been asked to help a friend out with pests in her barn. I'm wondering if there is a limit to just how low a regulator can be set on this carbine? I don't want to ventilate her barn and will be testing with some scrap material but I've never adjusted a regulator before. Not sure if it's even possible to get down to what I need to be at. My guess would be under 400fps.

Snowpeak  Pp750 177 late to the party but need help

Finally found pp750 in 177 but I think it’s Canadian version as the brass valve hole is so tiny. Enlarged that hole with 1/16 drill and no other mods other than cranking the reg CCW to 2 threads above flush. Also maxing the hammer spring screw and backing off 1.5 turns. Only getting 570fps max 600fps about 7.6 fpe with 10.3gr pellets. What is going on? Is the reg not working properly? I tired adjust the HST but no change in velocity much. Does it mean I have to drill the hole where the reg screws into. Where it’s held by 4 long screws? Also should I also drill the 2 holes in the barrel tp? I watched the YouTube vid but found nothing about the 177.
Or should I buy a huma reg? hope someone can help.

  • Question
Daystate  I have a few questions about the Daystate Red Wolf (German (F) version)

I have a few questions about the Daystate Red Wolf

These models of the Daystate Red Wolf are available:

• RW HiLite
• RW HiLite German (F) Version limited to 7.5 joules / 5.53 ft-lb
• RW HiLite HP (HighPower)

… RW Red/Blue/Safari B Type …
… limited Editions …
… RW GP (HP) …

If I understand correctly, the RW HiLite models are from a hardware point of view identical to the RW HiLite German (F) Version and can be programmed up to 33 ft-lb (44.7 J). This depends on the version of the PCB, GC1 or GC2. The new GC2 PCB, a hardened hammer, O-ring vibration compensation, and other components are automatically included in newer RW models? The HP versions have different parameters, as well as other hardware components: FAC Peek Firing Valve, additional components? How far can you effectively shoot with 4.5mm (caliber .177) pellets, and how many joules (or ftps) are needed for that (is a tuned HiLite enough, or does it need to be an HP version, and wouldn’t I also need a longer barrel in a larger caliber)?

Are there any German forum members here who own a Daystate programmer? Who else has a German Red Wolf version? Depending on the pellet in the hi power settings, mine only emits around 5.5 to max. 6 joules…?!

Other  Arrow slinger - help me decide

Now that I have the main gun, tank, compressor, hand pump etc lol I’ve decided I might as well get something that shoots arrows and one of the members here recommended getting one of the big bores so it’s at least dual purpose…which makes sense.

I’m leaning towards a 45 or 50cal but I’m open to persuasion on a 357 as well.

Here are my top choices in order but if I’m missing something by all means let me know!

1. Western bush pig
2. Air Force texan
3. Umarex hammer
4. Airbow M600 (not dual purpose)
5. Western rattler 457 (rather not spend $3k)

Thanks for any input!

N/A  Reximex Throne Gen 2... Good starter PCP?

Greetings all ! Got a few post under my belt but I am new here, and a total newbie to all things PCP....I do not yet own an air rifle of any type and am searching for my first. I was considering an FX Impact m4, but after some crawling around here I've decided against that notion. I've seen some favorable vids and talk of the Reximex Throne Gen 2, so kinda looking for some feedback from actual owners.
I like the bull pup design, my needs are mainly recreational shooting with some pest control mixed in, most likely nothing past 50 yards. I would like to go with .22 cal, but not against possibly going with .177 cal either. Pellets only, not really interested in slugs at this time.
The pump I am looking at is one of the GX CS3-I pumps, and possibly a smallish bottle for starters. Thanks to any and all for any guidance. 👍

AEA  Question from a noob re: M 50 and/or air compressor

I am very new to this, and this is probably a terrible question, I apologize in advance in case it's even worse than I'm thinking it probably is,

I bought an M 50 pistol from Bintac/AE. And my friend has a hand pump, he has filled it for me once or twice with it, so I am sure nothing is wrong with the gun.

I have now bought two air compressors from Amazon, the first one cost $180 and the second one $260. I returned the first one because it didn't seem to fill the tank at all. Now I'm about to return the second one for the same reason, so I am quite sure I'm doing something wrong.

I honestly can't understand what the problem is, it's not filling the tank at all. Neither compressor has done Neither the gun nor the compressor came with any instructions, and I can't find any YouTube videos with either of the compressors I bought, but even watching the videos with other compressors, they are doing basically the same thing I am trying to do with mine.

I'm not above thinking that I truly am stupid, at this point I am definitely allowing for that possibilty

And yes, I know I bought a cheap compressor. Is that really the entire problem, do they not work at all if they are affordable? To me that seems absurd, like I figured it is maybe not as fast, or not as quiet, but do the cheap ones really just not work at all?

These are the specs for the compressor I have,

Portable 12 volt hpa compressor. 220v - 110v - 12v
Volume. L34 x w17 x h27 (cm)
Weight. 8.8 kg
Cooling method: fan air cooled
Compression mode: fan air cooled
Compression mode: 3 stage compression
Power supply: 12 volt DC
Power: 350 watts
Inflation pressure 30mpa or 4500 psi
Charging rate : 13 minutes / 0.45 liter tank
0-30mpa (300 bar)

Can anyone enlighten me here, is there something I'm missing? Thank you in advance if you are cool enough to take the time to reply, I know I am soliciting free advice here, I'll I have to give in return is my gratitude... Or I may have an M 50 I can give you a good deal on if the problem turns out to be that I just can't afford a good enough compressor.

Shattered by 250z Trigger: Can Someone Please Direct Me to the Nearest Exit?

For years I have been financially disciplined denying myself any and all luxuries as a security guard in Southern California I had no choice. However, I decided to reward myself with a new PCP rifle and I diligently researched my purchase for many months and finally settled on the Barra 250z .25 caliber. I purchased a scope, silencer, stainless steel screw kit, o-ring kit, and a trigger kit before I ordered the rifle. Having watched all the YouTube reviews on the gun, their was unanimous agreement that the trigger on the 260z was a spongy, gritty disappointment.

When my gun arrived, I disassembled it, cleaned the barrel, inspected all the o-rings, cleaned up all the excess factory grease, polished a few parts, and then I made a devastating mistake that would take me down a dark rabbit hole and ultimately shatter me and lead me to writing this post. I installed the Rogue Trigger Kit thinking that it would be a significant improvement at least, but was disappointed. It didn't solve the spongy, unpredictably breaking ,gritty trigger. Now he who has never sinned may cast the first stone, but I had the audacity and stupidity to punch out a roll pin holding a sear in the trigger mechanism in order to polish a couple surfaces in hopes I could reduce some of the grittiness. I had no idea of the pandora's box I had just opened.

After a little cleaning up of the sear edges, I proceeded to put the trigger back together. The first sign something was wrong, was the tiny spring in the center of the trigger mech had exploded out of it's place when I punch out the roll pin. No, it didn't go flying into oblivion, that would happen later. I was trapped in a awkward position that after about 6 hours of working with a couple picks I could not get the tiny spring back into place. IN fact, I couldn't even see why or where it was stuck since it was at the center of the trigger mechanism. I finally concluded that the only way back was to punch out another roll pin to give myself room to move another sear out of the way with a pick and return the spring back into position. As I type this, I can't help but notice that words at this point simply cannot describe the experience of trying to fix this problem, but I will give you a thumbnail sketch of the never-ending torcher chamber I found myself in.

I am not an octopus and have but two hands. I am holding the block and using gravity to manipulate the loose sears requiring me to constantly bend over and turn the block at just the right speed and position to try and get things into position again, all the while fighting the fact that light travels in a straight line and it is impossible to see around dark tiny corners. This goes on literally all night until 4 am when my cognitive functions and emotional control abandoned me and I grabbed a pair of hemostats, and ripped the blanking spring out. Of course, this resulted in a spring that was contorted, twisted, and stretched beyond repair. I wisely went to bed.

After another fun day at work doing armed security at a huge retail shopping plaza where I am the guy they call whenever there is any angry, insane, drunk or drugged out belligerent person no one else can deal with. I return to my trigger project day 3. I start with a feeble misguided attempt to bend and twist the spring back into a working form for 2 hours until I accept the futility of the effort. I then get on eBay and order a kit of 230 tiny springs with 23 different sizes and shapes and wait for a few days. When it arrives, II look at the assortment and think, "Yes! I nailed it." However, on closer inspection I realize no I didn't. Springs have many specifications, including some I am sure I am not even aware of. Lets just start with the basics. There is the thickness of the wire, the length of the spring, the outer diameter of the spring coils, the number of coils, etc. At first glance, a spring might look like another spring but upon closer inspection you realize they aren't even close.

I am not a quitter and I get the brilliant idea that I could combine a couple springs which are about the same size, intertwine them, super-glue both ends and Walla....I will save you the horrific details of that endeavor and skip forward to 7 hours later at 3 am after dremmeling out some of the holes in the sears to fit the springs. I went to sleep so I could wakeup at 6 am for another fun day at work. Now, just repeat that last sentence 2 more times with changing details different days.

I am so far past done with this, that I am going to have to call Webster's Dictionary and tell them they need to add another word for where I am because there are none that even begin to scratch the surface of describing where I am mentally and emotionally. Hyper-frustrated, super-irritated, exhausted, angry, and teetering on the edge of completely losing it, whatever form that may take, I don't know.

So, I gathered myself and started with first principles of problem solving. First, I needed to clearly define my outcome which is the following: To find the shortest, least expensive path to solve this problem permanently, in the most expeditious way possible. I would prefer a completely different or an after market trigger, as I think replacing mine with another factory trigger that sucks is not an optimal solution, but I don't know even what is technically possible. I have destroyed my trigger. and I am so damaged psychologically and emotionally that I never, for the rest of my existence, will work on a trigger again, how ever long that may be. So, then it comes down to money, of which I have none, as I over-extended on this entire venture. I have no idea what it costs, or even who do I seek out to solve this problem. My gun before I was able to even take one shot, has become an oversized paperweight. I have humbly exposed my stupidity as a tale of caution to others and deserve any and all criticisms and blame. I did this to myself and take full responsibility. My only question is "Can someone please point me in the direction where I can get off this ride, I don't want to be here anymore."

  • Question
N/A  Minimal tuning and accurate pcp rifle?

Ok so I have decided am going to get one last pcp rifle. My budget is max 1500 just for the rifle i have couple of other pcps, notos, avenger x, XM1, and marauder semi auto but they no longer scratch the itch that I have. So I want a rifle that is accurate and that is the most important thing the max distance I will be shooting is 100 yards give or take. i would also like the rifle to require minimal tuning, it’s nice to have all the bells and whistles but I think simplicity always comes out in top. And lastly I would like the rifle to be rugged one that I can take to the woods and do not necessarily have to baby it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate and I thank you in advance.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 2 rapid leak

Shot a couple of ground squirrels this evening.
Shot it one more time to empty the chamber before putting it back in the safe and air was rushing out the barrel.
Dry fired it and then air was blowing out the breech as well as the barrel.
The gun's bottle was empty in approx. a minute or thereabouts.

If it matters: the gun is less than one year old (from Talon Tunes), 25 caliber. From day one has had a VERY loud clang from the buttstock area when fired.

So those in the know... Just a breech seal? or something else.

I haven't had time to take it apart yet.
Ideally I'd like to pick up what I need before disassembly.

Thanks,

Jerry

Garmin XERO C1 update 3.30

On the latest update, there is an option, Added Downrange mode to pro settings. Well did so and enable it but I can't see what data is being collected. After taking a shot, the unit flashes 5 times before displaying the fps and only one. I don't see anything on garmins site explaining this new feature. Anyone else played with this.
