Yeah I think your opinion on the EQ is only informed by a couple of threads here where people have complained about a bunch of issues. You act like it’s rare for a new gun to have a couple issues with the first production run…I remember seeing loads of “fx needs to stop making new guns and fix problems with their other guns…” in reference to the M4 after the Leopard is announced.

But for $950 it beats the s*** out of a stock fx anything*…. Only if you’re looking for a slug shooter. I have zero mods to the gun and I’m shooting 52gr javelins at 930 for 99.9FPE and 30+ a fill… on the exact same tune I got 805-810fps out of the 75gr Griffin boattails. I’m not even tuned for them that was just messing around. That’s 109fpe oh and the big boattails FIT IN THE MAGAZINE!

Unless you get one that has already been tuned your FX’s aren’t doing any of that. You’re gonna have to pump more money into the gun to do it…and frankly I wouldn’t want to hunt with one unless I was on tripods all the time. It takes .001 seconds to find pages of threads from people complaining about POI changes for even looking at an fx barrel wrong.

Karma has a solid steel barrel.. it already has ridden shotgun in the car with 0 issues..70cc plenum and 4500psi fill. That’s fresh out of the box. How many of your Fx’s can boast that?

I get you have a preference and that’s fine. My goal here isn’t to badmouth FX, I would really like to own one eventually… just think it’s silly to include them in any convo about “bang for your buck,” even used they aren’t cheap. Not to mention everyone selling a used FX acts like it’s a solid piece if gold blessed by Justin from UtahAirguns himself. Half the guns being listed for $1300-$2000…. Additionally, you spend a lot of time talking about a karma gun that I’m 90% sure you’ve haven’t shot or even seen shot in person.

So basically give it a rest. If you’re trying to get an FX sponsorship or something then go comment on the Utah Airguns videos. And stop pretending you know about the EQ which is brand new cuz you read 2 threads here. I had been scouring the internet for a couple months, so the forums, YouTube, insta all that stuff. I even email pj Clarke at DonnyFL and the amount of complaints is actually quite small. Which by the way Karma is DonnyFL. AEA builds it to DonnyFl specs and design. Considering their reputation any issues will probably get sorted out.
👏👏👏. For that. A+ on the rant. 👍
If you really want to own an fx sometime I have a wildcat bottle I’d probably sell you.

Oh and just fyi I have been very critical of FX many times. Got a week vacay I think pretty much for not being nice about their YouTubers.

Hopefully the fear won. Haven’t read much good about them and for the 1k mark you can get a waaaay better gun in the slightly used market. Airguns of Arizona just sold an m3 for 1350. Wildcats or mavericks used should be about the price of a karma and im convinced are a better platform. Almost sold my wildcat bt to get an eq. Sooo glad I didn’t. The used market is falling.

AEA  My AEA Bigbore Challenger Bullpup Chassis

I'm kind of torn with them but i think its necessary since the gun is so huge. These things are so heavy, if it was a normal non-pullpup, i think it would be too nose heavy and would be annoying. Also, these guns have a 30" barrel so the non-bullpup gun must have really constricted movement. The gun was clearly designed not to be a bullpup; with the charging lever in the back like this, it doesnt lend itself to easy cocking. The trigger isn't great either. I know i can clean it up, but I haven't yet.
I think i prefer the standard layout, especially with the ear problem i have. Bullpup designs transfer all of the noise and vibrations from the hammer and pneumatics right to my head which is not so great. I have a .25 cal challenger standard that i also made a stock for. I really like that gun. So comfortable and just promotes good shooting.
Even when bench-shooting it ergonomics is not great. Standard design would be better. In the woods it's too big of a gun, my scoped setup was 19 lbs.

Noise is there, ear plugs are required.

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

That’s a bummer and some total BS by seller. I’m sure they could probably remedy the situation very easily if they wanted. Maybe they didn’t like how cheap it went. I imagine they could just cancel the sale and relist at same price. If they even had to do all that. Hope it all works out for ya. I’ve found some great stuff on GB in the past.

Rob
Kind of is my suspicion. But they cant cancel it without my permission.

So, ill call the local gun shop have them take delivery

Occasionally ridiculously low bids on Gunbroker.com stand up and you get a rifle selling for $800 out the door under $500.

Then you find out the dealer didnt check the NO FFL box and now you have to find a FFL to receive a pellet gun

Huben  Any issues or problems with Huben gk1 please share your experience

Valve washer back in. I also lubed up the pin again. Same results as before.
First mag ok 2nd almost 70 fps .
Oddly first mag went from 35 to 25 mpa.
2nd mag from 25 to 15 mpa. This gun is not as efficient with air as my 25 cal.
2 mags at 40 fpe and it was still over 20 mpa.
Someone in the FB group asked if i ran any other pellets/weights. Answer was yes .. ive had the JSB 14,16, 18,20. JTS 21.65, 22. AEA 21.9. Nothing higher though. I believe i have JSB 25 grain and the heavier 33’s.
I run 25 grain in the 25 cal so it will be a better comparison.
Edit i have JTS 25.39 and JSB 28 gr.

30-Yard Challenge

Date: 8/4/25
Target: 30-Challenge 200 16X
Rifle: Taipan Veteran 2 Standard (550mm)
Pellet: AEA 18.3g @ 919-926fps (FX Chrono)
Scope: Athlon Argos Gen2 SFP 10-40 @ 35X

The Taipan Vet 2 has been so accurate (and quieter) since I dropped reg pressure from 150bar to 128bar. This 200 tops the 199 that I had on the leaderboard.

It was the only card I shot with the Taipan yesterday. I was sad - needed a boost. Somebody hit my car while parked at a store lot yesterday - and took off. Quite a bit of damage - I love this Mazda3 and she is in great shape, I keep her very clean. Some people are just jerks - will cost me at least $500 (insurance deductible) if I decide to file a claim. Probably well over $1,000 if I decide to pay out of pocket.

I also did some pellet testing with Greg's @NAProf .177 380mm FX Crown barrel. I found a tin of JSB 8.44 - so I gave them a try at 30-Masters - 1st card was a "baseline" using the AEA 8.72s I've had much success with in this barrel. The stunning thing was that the JSBs had a higher velocity than the AEAs - even though the JSBs were HEAVIER. I did a lot of chronoing - the AEAs are longer than the JSBs, might have something to do with the increased drag/friction. In any case, the 8.44s did really well - Greg take note...

195 10X (AEA 8.72 @ 915-922fps)
198 11X (JSB 8.44 @ 940-945fps)
197 10X (JSB 8.44 @ 942fps)
196 11X (JSB 8.44 @ 922-932) dialed down the power wheel a click or two

The 198 tied my 30-Masters high with the .177 Crown this year.

Hornets nest

All jokes aside... I'm leaning towards the shotgun. At least they will be homeless and hopefully they will move on. Pretty sure a center mass blast will eradicate a bunch of them. I love free targets.

"What paper target did you shoot today?"

Sorry, couldn't help it :ROFLMAO:

Good luck to our man in the bee suit! 🫡

Sheridan Sights

Good question, J. The '64 won't be a problem as it uses itty-bitty screws to secure the rear sight.

The wedge-type sight mounting method on the later models caused stress on the soldered joint between the barrel and pump-tube. That stress can crack the joint and separate the barrel from the tube. The scope-mount that Sheridan marketed in the seventies added even more stress and caused more separations. Many of us have removed the rear sight and added a receiver-mounted peep sight to prevent the problem.

Cheers,

J~

Shooting Airguns at night

I shoot at night with Night vision scope,
If you have Rats, it's the best way to shoot them, a little Peanut butter buffet with a backstop..... lights out. ;)o_O
So true, it's amazing how they just walk past the dead ones to get to the peanut butter. Makes me feel sorry for them, so I let them fill their bellies a little then shoot them. Is it wrong to enjoy get rid of the pest, shoot first and pray later just incase.

.22 FX Hybrid Slugs

Shooting a Stoeger XM1 Ranger and picked up two boxes (sleeves?) of .22 caliber 22 grain fx hybrids. Excited to try them this evening but all I have is a 10 meter range at the minute. They stacked 5 slugs into one hole. Hopefully this is a good omen for longer ranges. (more recently I shout them at 40 meters and they clover leafed)

Now, I know slugs need to be pushed fast and I haven’t had a chance to chrony them yet but I’m currently shooting 16 grain FX diabolos at 874fps. 22 grain slugs probably around low 800s…maybe?

Problem is, I shot 3 of them into modelling clay and none of them expanded.

I would have thought ~800fps would be enough to cause expansion.

Any tips or ideas very much appreciated!
