In your opinion would this scope (DNT 7-35x56) be a good option for Air Rifle?

i understand. the scope is now on sale in a few places for $600 +/- like Amazon and Cameraland NY etc.

from my brief reading/review, it is pretty much the same scope as the Arken, however there are a few differences that might be important to some?

sound like the parallax issue might be a deal breaker for the airgun user.

N/A  Best PCP rifle

The next one on your list to try, until you realize the list never ends. So basically all of them in guess 🤷‍♂️They're kind of like pokemon 😆

In all seriousness, not everyone has the same goals with thier airgun. Best will be a matter of opinion based on each individuals shooting style and gun preference. Bench or off hand shooting will change a lot in preference. Target shooting, distance will play a part. Hunting, game size along with caliber and distance plays a part, etc... the variables go on....

Everyone has a different need and preference and that's what makes the many different options so great. Budget plays a part in all of it too
I don't know about the list never ending. I did a lot of looking before I decided on the two that I have now. Between them, they do everything I need.
Yes, I do drool over the latest and greatest when I see them but I just ask myself, what do I get that I don't already have. The primary answer is a larger credit card balance.

Just do you research and choose wisely.

624 pumps 😱

Hate to bust your bubble Don, but you won't do that. That being the case, I'll save you a lot of wasted effort(s).

1)- "chronograph readings should be identical for the two pellets." Nope.
2)- "chronograph results should also be very close." Maybe.
3)- "The plan is to take 3 shots at each pump level from 2 to 14 pumps and get an average." That MIGHT last through ONE pellet variety.
4)- But I doubt it.
5)- "My arms, shoulders and chest are sore just thinking about it." Unless you're a competitive body-builder, 'sore' is a supreme understatement.
6)- If you were able to complete the amount of testing you describe, you will make lasting memories.
7)- Virtue of lasting injuries.
8)- Now the good news. Limit your testing to JSB domed pellets in 14.3, 15.9 or 18.1 grains and you'll achieve the best accuracy that gun is capable of in whatever weight(s) you decide suits your purposes best.

You're Welcome,
Ron

BTW, that fourth book (now out of print) included testing of 350 airguns of all kinds, including multiple Steroid pumpers. My testing is now over 500 airguns.

To quote one of my favorite songs, by one of my favorite bands, "I know a little 'bout love; and Baby I can guess the rest!" Suffice to say I love airguns!

I also know a little 'bout love; but Baby that advice ain't free!

You're probably right. While I will force myself to at least test the CPHP'S, 2 - 14 pumps, likely by then I will have come to my senses and perhaps only do a 2 shot average/pump level. This would cut the number of pumps by 1/3 ... 208 pumps VS 312. And if I just do one shot at each level, that's only 104 pumps for 13 shots ... much more doable!

It may not be "exactly right on," but I'll have to accept it as close enough.

In your opinion would this scope (DNT 7-35x56) be a good option for Air Rifle?

The specs of this scope appear to be identical with the Arken EP 7-35 Gen2 and was probably manufactured in the same factory. Why pay $665 when you can get the identical scope direct from Arken for $551. I have a number of Arken scopes and can attest to their fine quality. I use them for BR shooting and they work great. The LH series has 30mm tubes vs the 34 and are great for hunting where lighter weight is better.
This is the type of info AGN is famous for , apparently the same scope for less .

What springer did you shoot today?

68 right now, perfect. I wouldn’t say summer is over, still have August. And I’m free as a bird today. Going to shoot, maybe. Crow
88 here in E. Texas now at 11am. I will get out and put some more tung oil on the old Freeland palm rest I have been refinishing and probably shoot some this afternoon. I think the high is predicted to be about 95, Just looking outside, there is a rather strong breeze that would make shooting at any distance rather difficult.

Are glass optics becoming obsolete?

Not YET, anyway. Are they being used more than ever before, absolutely. However, in situations where it's vital to have rugged, simple & DEPENDABLE equipment that won't ruin your day due to a dead battery, loose wire, zero phone service or invasive moisture, nothing can replace a glass & tube optic (for now, anyway). I mean, in the same vein, did glass optics make iron sights defunct? NO! It just gave us more options. I'd hate to see shooting become a push button affair, removing the art, skill & human factors from the sport of marksmanship.

Cheap FX chronographs..

The FX chronographs archery edition is the same as the standard v1 except for mount. It uses the same app and records shots as the v1 does.
I picked one up at Utah Airguns for $50 brand new. It is a heck of a deal for a great quality chronograph. I just used velcro on the top of the chrono to attach to the air cylinder when I need it. Fantastic deal but it wont last.. They are moving and have a lot on sale.
When I installed the app, I chose the Fx V1 as the device when installing the app and it works fine. You just cant upgrade the firmware.

624 pumps 😱

I am interested in low count steroid pumps FPE/FPS or does it not work that way ? i know nothing about this type of gun . Never mind coffee just kicked in and i answered my own ??
I fully expect there to be some power LOSS at low pumps. I believe he increases the volume of the valve, so it can hold MORE pressure/pumps, and he closes the headspace between the piston and the valve, so it's more efficient/forces more air into the valve each pump, but until you reach the "sweet spot," the FPS / FPE will likely be the same or lower.

Although, he does say that 6 pumps in a steriod equals 8 pumps in a stock gun.
