HW/Weihrauch  Ok Weihrauch Airgunsmiths, I need some advice... HW35 Barrel Latch Worn

I would start with a fresh and likely stronger spring within the latch assembly.
Then again a strong spring will also create greater wear as latch post rubs on breech face even harder ...
This is REALLY good advice - I have a 70's vintage HW35 like yours that had the exact same problem - I could break the barrel like it was a HW30!. But I sent it to Motorhead who installed a fresh spring and, presto - it's tip top and is one of my sweetest shooting springers! My breech face and the latch both showed some signs of wear, but the old, weak spring was most of the problem. Certainly worth trying!!

Airforce  Tex rex

Got the carbine .51 kitted the way I want and I installed the high power bias port. Cant wait to test. Got the discovery optics 2-12 ffp lvpo Air Shootist had reviewed, he has a 10% code and link on his youtube video. 16 moa hold under should get me to 190yards with a 390g without any turret adjustments. Got to retest test with the high power and all ranges of slug weights again. Going for a reasonably flat shooter.

N/A  Another newbie looking for advice

The GX 4 is hardly larger than a lunch box. I have one and love it.

We are just friends, exchanging opinions, correct?

I am very curious as to your preference for the CS4 over the smaller and lighter CS3. I'm assuming that you don't fill tanks or the reason for preferring the CS4 is obvious. I had a New Warrior (left one in the photo) which is about the same size & wieght as the CS4. Very much different case for transporting and moving. Also, protecting it in transport is much more complicated for the CS4.

My CS3 runs for hours at the weekly range day, since I'm shooting full power .22 PCPs, so the bit shorter CS4 run time might be another possible advantage.

I'm data-gathering, and this seems a good opportunity to hear informed comparisons.

Gx filter is here

Because you... released all the pressure! (Opening the bottom filter valve or the compressor bleed valve is the same thing, in terms of pressure, but NOT waterl). I open the compressor valve first, then the bottom filter valve, and then the upper filter valve. This way, I empty the compressor of water (primary separator), then the bottom of the filter (secondary and less water), then the pressure from the top of the filter to the gun/tank (no water).
Do you get any pressure release from the bottom filter bleed valve after you open the compressor bleed valve first?

new guy to airguns

OK folks, I have bit the bullet, or actually the pellet.
Stopped of at my LGS. Ordered a Benjamin Marauder, 22 cal, synthetic stock.
Stopped off at Amazon. An inexpensive compressor, a Vevor. and a spinning target to shoot at (G).
A small step for mankind, a big step for me!
Now comes the hard part, learning how to lie convincingly about your shooting success. ;)

Interesting that mine shoots the JSB Match 7.33g at a muzzle velocity of 448 fps which is 5 fps faster than the RWS Meister 7.0g which is a lighter pellet. Check out the 1.4 std deviation!

RTI  Rti Prophet

I actually prefer pellets.
In general, I prefer the design of the Prophet 1.
I just have serious concerns about the availability of spare parts, as the model is quite old.
Orders from Europe are no problem, since I'm from Austria.
I cannot comment on the P2 or P3, but I did buy a Prophet Performance with the .22LR right after the P2 was officially released. I did this because I liked the simplicity of design and also hoped I could get a decent price on the old tech gun, and that I did.

As for the RPB barrels in the P3's. I later bought a .25 RPB barrel and am using it in my P1. It shoots very well in the Prophet. Both pellets and slugs.

I doubt that parts are going to be a big issue, but who knows. All I can say is that in 3 years and somewhere between 20 and 30,000 shot fired, I have had one leak from the fill fitting and early on a cracked side lever that was replaced with an updated part. Other than tat, I have had zero issues.
I am sure I will have other leaks, but o rings are o rings.

What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

Nice shooting! Where did you source these targets? UA asks for $5 ea for their 100 yard targets and that seems steep
I just print them on my home printer, they are on 8.5x14 legal paper not "11x14". They are just the 7,8,9,10x rings from a RMAC, EBR target. Designed them with Inkscape to the correct size.

Benjamin  akela not cocking and low power

anybody having problems with the cocking lever getting stuck or losing power?
this could be your problem.
-open up the top rail of the cocking lever and take a look inside. you might have a pellet stuck in there.
View attachment 578152View attachment 578153
-for loss of power. you might also have a pellet or two between the hammer and poppet valve pin. i found all these slugs smashed around the pin, acting like a shim and stopping the hammer from fully opening the valve.. i suspect it’s my doing by not seating the slugs/pellets fully into the magazine before shooting them. i may have also done this when i had to unjam a pellet from the muzzle with a stick and may have popped the pellet into the space where the pellet probe retracts into when cocked.

don’t be like me 😅 i couldn’t find anything online about this so i hope it comes in handy for a future shooter of this platform. shoots!
Same thing happened to me.

AirMaks Arms  Caiman X .22 cal how to quiet This thing

The Caimans have a pretty short barrel shroud so they seem to put out a little more noise as compared to other air guns with comparable 500-ish mm barrels.

With that said, it doesn't seem to take too much to tame their bark if they aren't wasting air as folks have described above. Mine is a Gen 1 'X' in .25 cal and a simple FX by DonnyFL mod does the job just fine. It seems like the 'ping' from the gun's action is louder than its muzzle report, but that ping is right by the shooter's ear.

Awfully good shooting guns though (especially after performing the weevil mod).
I tried a Sarissa on my Caiman and it was very quiet (overkill actually) I ended up putting the Sarissa on my .30 Paradigm and took the stock FX off my Crown and put it on the Caiman and an Alteros on my Crown.

shipping worldwide sucks the stories in the states are the same
getting anything out of Germany is a wait and wait some more DHL Germany is a joke

well, the rifle is a treat

GX CS4-I compressor

I contacted factory support. The GS cs4 holds 300 ml, not 500 ml as the manual says. GX said they will update the manual.
I have emptied my CS4 several times (about five, and blew all the water out with air) and refilled it. It takes about 500 ml. I am going by a measuring cup, not a manual.
