Check your card statement if you purchased from Lee Spring

So I recently made my first purchase with Lee spring, luckily I use a prepaid card and plan for purchasing because my original order was $46, I was charged $24 and part of the order shipped the other day now this morning they tried charging another $56, wtf 46-24=22 right. So I call and got the run around from 2 people then transferred to the big guy I guess and what a load I got, OK 2 shipments from 2 warehouses makes sense but about the additional charges he goes on to say how that's how there system works but in the end of the day it'll correct itself. Yeah right. The reality is someone thought I'd be a big company with lots of charges because of the variety of my order and they could get away with some extra because there's no way I'd be looking. We'll lucky I do look and plan for purchasing so there's not much extra there and they got declined.
Reverse the charges. That really screws them with cc processors.

HW/Weihrauch  .177 HW44 310mm Carbine Conversion

After looking at Jarmstrong's conversion, I decided to do the same thing to my HW44. I had already outfitted it with the Rink Formgriffe stock (Shoulder-stocks) but decided to go all the way with the carbine conversion by replacing the pistol barrel with a HW110 .177 310mm carbine barrel. I decided to keep the pistol air cylinder because it was adequate for my needs. I get two magazines out of one fill and that met "good enough". I ordered a barrel from airgun spares in UK and it arrived in four days with no import tariff issues. I disassembled my current set up, removed the barrel (it just unscrewed), screwed the new barrel in, put it all back together and that was it. I got some additional guidance from J on some plastic holders for my vice to secure the barrel when I removed the old one. A little extra mussel power was needed because the barrel had locktite applied at the factory.

Original setup.

DIY Daystate GCU v5 (Red Wolf) programmer

Hello everyone

After reversing the diode as described above, it unfortunately still does not function.
The illustration by DaystateRebel is correct; the diode (1N4148) is shown in the correct direction and is also installed that way in his other images.

I can't get past “Welcome Superuser.”

Here are a few pictures of the settings (default).

In terms of the procedure, I connected everything, unlocked the Red Wolf, opened the clamping lever, and finally plugged the USB into the PC.
If you follow a specific procedure, please write it down.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what else could be causing this—I would be grateful for any advice.

I was today years old, when I realized... (scope zeroing).

With an FFP (first focal plane) scope, the reticle changes size with the zoom, while keeping the angular measurement (MOA / MIL) presented by the subtension references constant. With a SFP (second focal plane) scope, the reticle does not change size but the angular measurements (MOA / MIL) from the subtensions will change proportionally if you zoom in or out from the calibration magnification.

With BOTH FFP and SFP scopes, the position of the center of the reticle (crosshair) stays constant. If it's zeroed at your shooting distance, POA = POI (point of aim = point of impact).

So, with a SFP scope, look to the manual for the subtension angular measurements AND which zoom setting it's calibrated for. My SFP scope, a
Hawke 4-16x44 Airmax 30 SF Compact, for example, is calibrated at 10X on the zoom. So, the "mil dots" on my scope reticle represent a 1 mil angular measurement... at 10X. If I change the zoom from 10X, then I have to do some math to figure out the angular measurements between the dots.

So when I'm doing a zero, or if I want to use my reticle subtensions to calculate bullet drop and use the hold-off method instead of dialing, 10X on the zoom (where the scope's reticle is calibrated) is going to make that much easier. Again, look to your SFP scope manual to find the magnification for which the reticle is calibrated.

With a FFP scope, again, the measurements between the subtensions are constant at any magnfication.

I hope that made sense! :)

Has anyone had luck with the small carbon 98 ci bottles?

Hello,

I already have a 74 cubic ft Carbon tank but was looking to buy a 98 ci carbon bottle off eBay. It was manufactured 11/23. I'm not sure of the brand.

I have heard the small bottles tend to leak; it is allegedly good to 4500 psi (same as my 74 cubic ft one). Has anyone had luck with the small bottles? Thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone for the great feedback and guidance!

Million Pellets

Interesting thought, kind of like a million miler in my work industry. No way I’ve shot even close to a million. Have drove over a million for sure though.
retired @ 1.98 M , the guys ask why not go for 2 M i just smiled and walked out to my car and never looked back .

Anyone else guilty of tracking a package you've SENT?

You could probably even track the plane it's on.

Couldn't afford a plane-this time 😟 Maybe when I get the part-time job 🤔

FX  Wildcat consistency problems

Well, the saga continues.
Today I tried pellets again, and the extreme spreads went from a low of 16fps for 6 shots, to over 100fps for 15 shots, most were in the 35-50 fps for es???

I'm really losing this battle. I have the hammer screw all the way in, and running it on 5, 6&7. with velocity in the 845fps for setting 5, 880fps for 6 and 900 for 7. I know it's not tuned, but my Impact was very tolerant of being de-tuned. It would be way off tune and shoot a string with an es of 4fps.

When I get time, I'm going to pull the liner and put a different one in. I have another liner for my Crown, that I know shoots very good. The liner in there now, when clean and I push a pellet through it, it is tight at the breech, then very loose in the middle, then of course the choke is tight. My Crown liner seems very consistent until you hit the choke, obviously. We shall see.

Also, next up is to remove the hammer and clean and make sure it's dry and not hanging up on anything.

I ordered a regular pellet probe, so we'll see what that does.

I checked the probe alignment, but a pin probe would seem to be more forgiving in that there is no hole to line up, you simply are ok if it is in far enough to seal on the barrel's breech oring, correct?

I will try the tune, when and if I can get the strange spreads below say 50-60 fps. With the wild spreads I'm getting, there doesn't seem to be much use in trying to tune. I mean, I've had two Impacts, a M3 and an M2 (X), and I had three or four Dreamlines, still have one, and I have a Crown, they are easy as all get out to tune. Heck most of the time, they shoot a bad tune well. Go firgure?

I'm using the standard 11.4gr hammer. HOWEVER, the previous owner had a Huma power tune hammer etc in the gun. I'm wondering if it has the extra power srping in it and that is simply overpowering the whole thing. Still it seems at minimum that it would still shoot more consistent that I'm seeing. I measured the spring and it is 56mm long, 1.4mm wire, 9.87 od and 6.96 id.
I have had experience in the past with pin probes not properly seating the ammo in the right spot in the chamber also causing big consistency issues. Why I was wondering. If the pin probe is not the proper length the ammo might be partially covering the port, or maybe even too far past 🤷‍♂️. Is wouldn’t lose hope. You have checked off a bunch of boxes. I suspect when you put in the stock probe and double check the alignment your issue will disappear.
