What pistol did you shoot today

Thanks. I like those sorts of projects.
I have the Peacemaker, can’t say I’m any good fanning it. To do that I’d need to mod it.
Never had a Shiloh. You’ll have to tell us how that works out.
I did get a Barra Schofield, and it’s a heavy slug of metal. Much slower than the Colt to draw.

Anyway, you mentioned Bob Munden … might be fun to set up a balloon at 10yds and see if you can hit it with a quick-draw. Something a bit more interesting than plain ol’ target shooting, eh?
One of the Peacemakers came in today and of course it leaks air…not surprised at all…that would be like winning Lottery…lol…without doing modifications it doesn’t have the ability to Fan the Hammer…so the only gun that can is the SA6…I slipped a piece of 3/8 fuel line over the hammer and but some grease on it to make it slippery…I will let you know how it works..waiting on some balloons 🎈

What springer did you shoot today?

Hilarious, same thing happened to me few days ago after shooting the 35. I reached for that latch on the R9 every time. Great rifles you have there.
‘Yesterday and today I turned on the furnace. Down in high 50’s in morning. 2 days ago the temp is in the 80’s. Thurs. Fri. back in the 80’s. Crazy. Crow
If you think that's crazy try Texas, or anywhere in the deep south USA in winter. We may have single digits one week and upper 70's the next.

Benjamin  Sterling HR 83 .22 and .177 - Anyone else shooting HR 83

Have experience of these being English and repaired one.
Beautifully made, almost like old time English craftsmanship. Great attention was made to the finish and bluing in line with the reputation of Sterling but they had limited experience of airgun design, in reg the internal specs and balance of components.
The bolt loading was novel and did aid consistancy in the way a modern PCP bolt operates but the TP coming up through the gun and making a 90 degree turn to the bore is not so great for spring gun efficiency as it is for PCP and lost it a full ftlb compared to its competition.

Quite slammy and problematic trigger coupled with high weight assigned this to being a great collectors item for the future rather than a FWB Sport concurrer like the HW77.

The tune I used was what came with the gun ...110 reg 17 on HS adjuster and 21/2 on macro wheel . Iv yet to find a good tune for lighter slugs . This slug gun thinks Its a pellet gun Its shooting 21/22 grain pellets at 100 yards In about a one Inch group . where as the same weight slugs are all over the place . So more testing .

Making a bullpup stock

I like the idea of the modular stock with bolt on components. I'm not quite sold on the flat stock pistol grip, but what I've found making stocks in the past is that they're very time consuming and you have to be very careful that you don't make any mistakes along the way. With a stock that was make up of multiple pieces, not only would you be able to easily change it's appearance, but you could work much faster since if you made a mistake it would only affect a small portion of the work.

Sheridan  Sheridans FPS V # of Pumps V caliber V pellet weight or choice

Assuming you mean the "our amps go to eleven" connection to your request for velocity information CD, the (admittedly loose) connection is my velocity information might not only be deeper than most others', but includes accuracy testing as well; thereby answering other questions posed with some regularity... in the past, and future.

I suppose hindsight and foresight/forethought must go with the territory of being OLDER THAN DIRT.

What a BREECH!

I have two semi automatic air rifles and one semi automatic pistol. A Semi Auto Maraude, a Sidewinder compact and a Hatsan Velox. All three are in .22. I have several thousand pellets down each and have had no issues with either rifles or pistol. The only issue was with a couple of SAM magazines that had too light spring tension. This caused the magazine not to advance the next pellet fast enough to mate with the cycling of the rifle. I tightened the spring tension on both and have had no issue since. As stated above, they all eat pellets. You can go through a tin in no time flat. Positive side is that you have an immediate follow up shot if needed on any varmint you are trying to liquidate. It is also much quicker to get your scope, red dot, or other sighting mechanisms back on target quickly. This is a real plus if the target is moving quickly, jumping from limb to limb.

very small

I use the $6 ones that clamp to the tube and what I've found is that I can still see them in the peripheral vision of my left eye while aiming the rifle.

They really are an eye opener when it comes to cant. What I find is that my mind naturally wants to align the sights with objects that are presumably vertical, but the reality is that those objects usually are tilted a few degrees. Then sometimes, something about the ergonomics of a particular rifle will just make it feel like it's properly aligned when it's actually tilted a few degrees. I also like to hang targets on strings. When you do that they form a natural plumb bob and create a truly vertical reference that you can line your crosshairs up with.

Delivered today Panthera 600

One of the reasons I bought the Panthera .22 600 was I had a spare 400cc cf bottle , I bought the ST drop down adapter and installed both on the gun . Shooting Javelin 34g 218 slugs at around 900 fps , at 60 yards slug on slug impressive the Javelin 34g 217 not bad but not as good a group probably needs a different tune .
Im going to try pellets tomorrow I know Its a slug gun but I think with the right tune It might shoot pellets pretty well maybe the JTS 22g .View attachment 584809View attachment 584810
What tune were you using for the javelin.217 34gr slugs?

Tuning  .177 vs .22 shotcount

Almost any projectile-launching implement is more efficient in larger calibers and/or with heavier projectiles. That includes airguns, firearms, bows, and slingshots... at least. "More efficient" can mean produces more kinetic energy, or given the same kinetic energy in PCPS, more shots per charge.

It's a Physics thing.

Crosman 1322 barrels

If Charles has it in stock he usually gets it shipped out pretty quick. I ordered some valve components from him, they were not in stock and it took him a while to make them. I wasn't worried about it, he's as honest as the day as long. I got my parts and they were perfect.

Glad you found what you were looking for.
I hope so. I placed an order for Co2 conversion from Alliance Hobby and they don't give updates...
