Welcome. The good news is you don't have to spend a lot to get a rewarding, hard-hitting PCP. Buy a good low maintenance compressor and let it rip.

The RWS Meisters have always been my go to .177 pellet for accuracy. The Hobbys are great for plinking.

Good point on the fill probe being easier to use than a foster fitting. I have both and a bum right thumb. The fill probe is much easier to use.

IMHO - Skip springers and go directly to PCP. It is a very smooth transition from rimfire to PCP. Better accuracy too. I spent many $$$ on Fine German Springers over the last 40 years and even my most modest PCPs will out shoot and out power them all. Fire away...I don't care.

Just for kicks I put a red dot on the Diana Stormrider. I also wanted to maintain the open sights for really close-up pesting. It works! When I want open sights I turn the red dot off. Funny thing, I'm almost as accurate with the open sights as I am with the red dot at 20-30 yds. Fun experiment.

Yes, I use all three, but most of my pesting for home-intrusive critters is under 30 feet. I prefer open sights for that. Everything else is for fun.
