Has anyone used Zeiss Terra Scopes. I'm thinking about getting the 4-12x42 with RZ8 reticle. Some owners claim that it's one of the best value for price, weight, and quality in it's class.

What type of shooting do you do? Hunting or target? That might make a difference in whether the scope is right for you.

You have to know that Zeiss Terra lens are made in China and Korea.
Those are not made in Germany for many years.

From what I understand a lot of glass are made from China now. The higher end scope companies just selects the better quality and assembly them into their own housing.

The best high end lenses are from Japan, followed by South Corea and China is for low quality lenses.
So , just dont pay for the Zeiss brand.

There has been reports of counterfeit Zeiss scopes on Amazon and Ebay. If I get one I would go through OpticsPlanet because they offer 30 day full refund and free shipping back.

Jayman I had a 3-9 Terra and it was a very nice scope for the money . It was on a 22LR and gave it a little " cool factor " . Just my 2c , I'd put it right there with Leupold VX1 as far as clarity . Don't get all wrapped up with where lenses come from . To me its like a good cold beer .....I could care less who grew the barley , long as the beer taste good
