“JCD”Rob, I’ll let you know. Don’t think you’re much of a .177 guy but you can certainly explore the one I have on the way.

I been looking for a .177 Carbine/Bullpup. Remember I tried to get your Mutant .177. Been thinking of tricking out a 1720T, but this with mag and anti double load would be sweet. Want something in the high teen’s (or low 20’s) for FPE though.

“Osprey1”Looks like a well made airgun, what kind of velocity are you getting for out of box performance?

Out of the box I’m getting 850 FPS with 10.3 grain pellet. 920 FPS with 8.4 grain pellet.
This is with the spring all the way out. It is possible to increase spring pre-load, just have not played with it yet.
I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can shoot outside.

So 16.5fpe with minimum pre-load sounds real good. Plus I would imagine it shouldn’t be too hard to bump up the reg just a bit to reach 20fpe

Looks like 16.5fpe is right in line with when the specs are saying. Specs are also saying a minimum of 100 shots at that level on a full fill

I am keeping my eye on this thread, as I stated, I have the .22 cal in grey, the supplier down here in SA only brought in .22 cal but I am really thinking in asking for a .177 cal due to it’s size and I can use for shorter distances. The .22 cal I absolutely love it!!! It’s accuracy is amazing. At a moment I am working on a new shroud/silencer design for it as for my liking it’s a bit too loud, specially for backyard shooting but so far, very impressed with these guns.

No more .177 available right now so I canceled my order. I have too many .22’s. I’ll check back from time to time as I’d still like one in .177.

Had a chance to shoot it outside for first time today.

Conditions: wind 6 mph with gusts up to 10, humidity 45%, barometer 30.08 inHg

Looks like at least 7 or 8 were in a .25″ctc group. Definitely minute of squirrel (or rabbit, pigeon, rat, etc). I’m certain you can even tighten that group up the more you shoot, and in better conditions.

Once the regulator breaks in and some pellet sorting will tighten the groups up even more, great shooting!!

Nice group, as said above, once the barrel is leaded in and the reg sets, it will be better, now I really want the .177 cal as well. How do you like the balance, cocking and mag cycle of it?

I like the balance, it shoulders nicely, but I am tall guy 6’2″ with long hands and I think the stock is a bit short for me.

I’ve ordered adjustable butt plate that I plan to attach to it. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F192421726040

Cocking is very smooth, I also like how you can observe pellets in the mag from both sides for any deformations.

I have hard time determining when magazine is empty. There is slight resistance as pellet is pushed into the breech and I have to feel for it when reloading.

Awesome man, for what you are saying, not much difference from the .22 cal (in terms of smoothnes of all actions). Yes I agree with you about the mag, the probing of the pellets are very light, so you have to feel when the mag is empty, also been able to see the pellets from both sides, gives you an opportunity to reload without taking the mag out as you shoot.
Please keep informing as you progress with it, very intersting.
    Thanks for posting.

My .22 cal is shooting JSB’s 18.13gr @ 910fps and with the 15′.89gr 960fps pellets on pellets @ 35/40m, it is just a bit too loud for my liking as I also like to shoot at my backyard but I am working on it, so far, it’s a very nice rifle for the price, in par with most of the high end guns out there.

Sounds like you have the long version. Specs say 40j for that (which you are dead on) The short in .22 is 30J (which would be 22fpe)
