I think that any mfg of an expensive, yet somewhat fragile item should include a hard case and package and ship it that way. While this is no gaurentee that it won’t be damaged it will provide additional protection.
Double boxed in a hard case should be the standard. You can buy a case in Sams club from 30 to 70 dollars and pkged as described above would prob prevent these types of damage.
These guns are too expensive to ship uncased. Charge an additional 75 dollars to the price, the purchaser, after waiting weeks, months will appreciate the care.
Years ago Gretsch guitars did not include the price of the case in the advertised price of the guitar. Naturally, on the two that I own, I added the case, I wasn’t totally happy that Grestsch had this extra charge policy, but you need a case, so why not get it at purchase and get the added shipping protection.
After designing, mfg, a somewhat delicate expensive, precision device, then trusting it to any shipping company, to actually follow the “this side up, fragile, handle with care stickers is ludicrous. Include a hard case and ship it that way.
