YRRAH's FX Crown arrived to my Dealer today. How do I feel!

It left Sweden with the first batch in July, arrived in Australia in early September, cleared Customs two weeks ago, was dispatched from the importer Wed last week in good order and arrived by our third world postal courier service today.
A phone call to Fredrik Axelsson had an instant response and he is sending a new barrel immediately. But ... even though it is being air freighted, at this end it could be at the least another month before I get to shoot the Crown.
Well I guess you guys can vent for me, I'm a little deflated/read depressed. Harry in OZ.

That’s a shame I guess they do it differently in othe markets. I got mine from AOA and it came in a plastic clam shell case lined in foam rubber. The only thing wrong was the cap for the fill port was missing and AOA sent one right out to me. I used to work for a POS company and when we shipped delicate equipment we wrapped it in plastic film and injected foam into box (like what is used in wall installation) never had a damage problem.Hope you’re New barrel arrives quickly.

Well I've slept on it and figure it's only a gun not a child run over by a car. So move on and be patient 'til a new barrel comes hopefully by Christmas.

Some thanks are due to the two guys who have offered me a loan of their own .25 Impact barrels. I'm decliining the offers as I sure would not want something to happen to another's good barrel. But it goes to show what wonderful folk we have here!

To answer some concern about manufacturer packaging - FX do normally provide a hard case and my Excalibre and Elite came thus. But apparently the first Crown batch sent from the factory when mine left did not. However it was well protected with foam etc., it was rough handling by our freight service between states that broke it and it is near impossible to figure how it was managed.

Thanks for the support. When I do get it in service and have done some research using Labradar in conjunction with pellet all-of-flight from rifle to target slow motion video, I will be sure to post some of it here. Best regards, Harry.

WOW Harry, what a hot damned mess !! Feel for you.. They should next day air a total replacement !! I know it would be the customs that would mess the time schedule up !! I cant believe that they would ship that beauty unprotected. Not when they knew how far it had to travel.. They should of taken the barrel, bottle and stock off and hard foamed each part individually ... Man I feel for you !!

I feel for ya Harry. I had a really nice Cricket Carbine get damaged last year on it's way to a buyer. I didn't know the rifle was being shipped out of the country? But I put the rifle in a nice nylon soft case and double boxed it. I'm assuming it made it to Miami fine because who ever signed for the rifle didn't mention any damage to the box? But then he had a courier service fly the package to somewhere in South America. I won't be shipping any more rifles unless they are inside a hard case and double boxed. What ever punctured this package also damaged the threading on the soft case so it was hit pretty hard.
