Your Thoughts On The New TalonP Carbine .25

Agreed. The warranty is kind of comical because there's nothing to break it's all super easy to take apart and repair yourself you have to like drop it off a cliff to break something. I think these are literally "utility" airguns. Simple, basic, one really good shot at a time, durable and can be repaired without special tools or any real training.

Mercado - you are getting 125 fpe in .22 with a 12" barrel? What kind of valve are you using and how are you getting that much power? I can get that with a .25 18 inch barrel shooting 60 grain slugs with a Doug Noble valve and very heavy spring and heavy hammer. But not at "1" on the PW! What is your secret?

...not hard...

...I ran into the same caliber problem in CT...

...IMHO they should consider the .25 air rifle a small bore, but instead they consider it adequate for deer hunting...

...this is odd, IHMO, as .22 lr and 22 magnum are not allowed as they are considered underpowered for deer...

...the barrels are very easy to swap out but there may be more to it than just changing the barrel...???...

MrP .. the .223 barrel 1-12 twist available at [email protected] 30" long.. with the same Doug valve you have.. a stronger long spring but thinner since none of my 2 talon ss frames likes the Doug thick spring..n a 112grams hammer... so the secret is a way longer barrel 😁.. I just sent one of those heavy thick Doug spring to a friend and in his frame is works great... the 257 have the same combination.

Yeah the thick spring seems fine in my talon P frame. A longer barrel... of course. When you said talonss I imagined you constrained by the shroud and using the baffles built into it and getting 125 fpe out of a 12" barrel which is impossible probably

What did you observe that led you to realize that the spring was not a good match for the other frame?

Mrp .. the cocking became a little rough, the trigger was hard . Like horrible . and the gun shoot by it self when released the safety..same gun only changed the spring to a strong n longer but thin spring, problem solved n I was thinking that was something wrong with the frame...trigger is awesome with that spring really light pull..and the cocking circle is like factory with the obvious exception that is a bit harder to push back because is a stronger spring.

My used TalonP with a Mad Dog Stock and Tatsu Moderator. She is shooting a nice and easy 40 fpe going out ~726+ fps with JSB Exact King heavies. I just bought some Nielsen 38.5gr slugs and plan on pushing them around the same speed, giving me ~45fpe at the muzzle and around 40fpe at 50 yards --- more than enough to do yard work !!

Pic of gun on top and Nielsen 38.5gr slug and JSB 33.95gr Exact King Heavy below that:

my talon-p is about 6-7 months old with the new style trigger guard.
1st thing i did was lose the bottle and install the high-flow bottle from PA
tuned for 60FPE with 30.86 H&N baracuda's for many shots accurately.
its a hunter and does a fine job on game and pest critters.

I did the same thing with the bottle, double the shots of stock tank, shooting 34gr JSBs.
