Your Invited: Sacramento Valley Field Target Match - Saturday May 25th, Ione CA

Come on out and join us for a fun match this coming Saturday. We will set up a challenging but fun course to give you a chance to test your skills in shooting Field Target. The weather looks like 😕, well who knows. I suspect it will be fine with pleasant temperatures and the ever present Ione breezes which test the best FT shooters.

Location: Sacramento Valley Shooting Center - Directions found here: http://www.sacvalley.org/about/directions/

Upon arrival at the range take a right at the 'T', near the range office, up the hill to Range 9 (First range past the Cowboy Shooters range). The match is open to anyone interested in learning about Field Target competition as well as experienced shooters.

Lol ... have we had enough Rain in May yet ? In the last 8 days we've had give or take 5 inches worth, but alas someone upstairs knew we had a FT match to shoot come Saturday and the storms left 2 days ago leaving quickly enough to dry up the soggy ground. March in IONE ... IIRC was a slog fest in the muck & mire of a lingering winter. Today was WONDERFUL starting out with a bit of low fog clearing out to minimal clouds as the day went along .... nary a breeze early on to just enough of the IONE winds to get your attention. Yea those winds !
Memorial weekend ... GOD BLESS OUR SERVICEMEN past & present !

19 folks made it out for this months SVFTC match at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center in IONE. We started early 7:30ish getting the course set and were ready for practice by @ 8:15 or so. Having some local road closures compounding access to the facility, with a few folks late to get there we started the match @ 9:30 after a brief shooters meeting and a conversation of the SVFTC HOSTING the 2019 California State FT Championship down in MORRO BAY September 14- (15-16) * Mark your calender's.

We set 58 shots of which 6 were offhand / 2 optional kneeling. 5 targets past 50 yards, little in the 21-30 typical zero ranges and the typical stinker small targets occupying the closer distances.
Just when you think i got this ... Ya don't !

As the day would play out the days top shooters all seemed to peak with the same score which left us with a 3 WAY tie in Hunter PCP leading to a SHOOT OFF and another shooter in OPEN PCP who was wrangled into joining them for top score honors. Thus a 4 WAY shoot off for Class position & TOP DAWG !!
