That seems to have eased a bit this year now that ive been playing with the airguns probably not a bad idea now that ime about to turn 52.

I have 2 other hobbies. I love trout fishing, especially brownies. Lake Taneycomo is 8 miles up the road and it's kinda my second home. I fish at night and have the place to myself many nights.

I also collect dogs that others don't want. Got three right now that came from folks on the road I live on.

    Chuckles

    Freddy

and Mindy (sister of Mork who lives across the road).

    What a crew!

I also love fly fishing.  Ive been tying my own flies for about 25 years now.  Fish a lot for trout and bass.  Primarily fish in Pa, but am gearing up for the annual NY Salmon River trip. Recently fished the west Branch of the Delaware River and caught some great trout.  I also enjoy deer and turkey hunting in Maryland.

That NY trip sounds like fun. They all sound like fun. I've got Table Rock Lake 6 miles to my west (Bass), Taneycomo 8 miles north (Trout), and Bull Shoals Lake 7 miles to the east (Catfish, Walleye). I moved here so I wouldn't have to travel far to fish. I landed in heaven.

ZB, with you being in Omaha, you must know exactly where Cricket Creek marina is.  We're right across the creek at the Ozarks RV Resort.  Had a waterfront view of the marina for 8 years now with a slip at the resort.  Being on the marina side of the resort, we look down a slope at the 8th hole, and the groundhogs love to get out on the fairway, which makes them easy pickin's for a good pcp.  My neighbor 3 lots up has a springer, and she lives down there full time, and is hell on those hogs.  She's thinned 'em out to where I have to keep an eye out for one that she hasn't killed already.  Fishing has been slow for me this year, as raccoons tore our boat up over the winter, the spring rains, them letting the water out early, and finally trading boats and having to wait 3 weeks for the motor to get here from Seattle.  Hoped to get some fishing done over Labor day, but 5 minutes in the first day, the motor quits with some kind of fuel line blockage problem.  We couldn't find the problem, so there went fishing for the weekend!  I forgot to tell you…if you like Bull Shoals, there are some good sized stripers in there as well.  I've wanted to go striper fishing over there since we got out here, just haven't got around to it yet.

Hey Huck. I believe I know exactly where you live. I've used the marina there several times. Sold my boat and only wade for brownies now. Sorry to hear about your motor problems. I've never fished for Stripers. Might have to look into that. Maybe we can get together and do some shooting one day?

ZB, since you sold your boat, maybe you ought to drive over to Cricket Creek before it gets too cold and I'll pick you up there and we'll see if we can find some bass/crappie out there.  That is, if my brand new boat decides it wants to run now.  I put it in the water after picking it up from the dealer, they said they replace the fuel lines from the tank along with the squeeze bulb, and it ran fine when I put it back in.

The only shooting I can do down there is from my yard down hill at the ground hogs.  There's no one behind me, just water, and no place else I can go down there, as a lot of the people in there would get hyper about seeing me with a long gun since it's supposed to be no guns allowed on the resort.  That's why I usually take my little Talon P with me…it's small and not too noticeable, and hits hard!

That's quite a crew you've got there!  My old pup is having severe hip problems now, and we don't know just how much longer we're going to be able to keep him going.  Last time down at the lake, he'd lose his footing going in the 5th wheel and would end up sitting on a step with all four legs through the steps and me trying to pick up his 80 lbs. and pull him out and get him on his feet again.  Not fun for either of us.

Been off work sick these last few weeks with a duff shoulder.  Become a bit of an aircraft buff.  Been sat in the garden with FlightRadar in a tablet and a pair of binoculars and spent a pleasant few hours plane spotting.
