You know you’re a dumb_ss when you are practicing at Extreme Benchrest and you have a huge arc/drop off in you pellets even at 50 yards so you take your FX .25 Crown to the mobile AOA repair van and Don tells you “Larry you have the power wheel stet at minimum!”

An honest mistake-maybe not the best place to make it as far as building one's confidence......the only way out of this is to shoot a great score!

It can only get better

Don't feel too bad Tex. I sorted a tin of .177 JSB heavies by head size for a field-target national championship and put them "where i can't possibly misplace them". Got to the sight-in area and (of course) couldn't find them to save my life. Luckily found a tin of heavies to buy, and shoot straight from the tin. Ended up taking second place in Hunter Class, two points off National Champion on the 120 shot weekend.

On arriving back home and unpacking, of course found the sorted pellets in an obvious place! Yes, I do believe sorted pellets might have resulted in 2 less misses.

I repeat, don't feel too bad Bud.

Oh yea? Well,

I screwed myself out of the EBR big-bore win yesterday by shooting the wrong target(s)!! On the “bright” side, my co-shooter Stephen Marsh (unofficially) took the win with MY .308 Slayer that I spent many hours / days dialing in. 

Do I get the Dumbass of the year award or what? Here’s a pic of Stephen and the Slayer. Congrats bud!!

It happens to all of us at least once. I was having a issue zeroing in at 50 yards and after a bit a guy walked up looked at my scope then at me and just said 1/4 inch at 100 yards hmmmmmm and walked away , at least the guys had something to talk about the rest of the afternoon.

Not so uncommon BrianinMI. At lease you can laugh at yourself Lmctex i bet you had a blast at EBR.

I recently had a HUGE issue with my .25 Crown.. It started being erratic as hell. A gun that a week before had been producing .5-.75" groups at 75 yards was suddenly all over the place producing 3-5" groups randomly. I got so frustrated I called my friend Rich Dudek to bail me out. The day before I was to pack up the gun and send it off to him, I ran the tin of pellets I had been shooting dry and went to grab another. ...... Wait a minute, this tin looks different... Come to find out I had inadvertently grabbed a tin of King Heavies thinking they were my usual 25 gram Kings but failed to adjust the gun for the heavier pellet.....
