You all with the Wildcats, what are your guns weighing in at?

I’m targeting the synthetic soft touch group, for comparisons sake.

Fully dressed with scope, moderator, and I’m sure most have installed a front pic rail under the stock. I’m trying to plan out my scope of choice, eventually, and really trying to keep the weight down. Today I went to WM and bought a cheap 1” tube Centerpoint scope for two reasons: one, it’ll give me an idea of what the gun weighs in at with a somewhat light scope, and two I just want to finally shoot this gun since I took ownership a bit over a month ago, lol.

So, right now, with 1.26 lb scope, rings, pic rail at forearm, 3 empty mags attached to the scope rail, and a JSAR shroud band I’m exactly at 9 lbs. Eventually I’m going to try and find a permanent scope that’s at around 18 oz to help shave some more weight, and install lighter scope mounts.

8 lbs

I have yet to find anything lower than 18 oz, that comes in a variable power, 30mm tube, side focus, and 50mm objective, and that’s a 3-12 discovery.

8-11 ounces??!! Are those one of those fixed 4 power scopes that come with a daisy gun? That’s got a 7/8” tube from one end to the other? With my aging eyes I can’t do 2-7 x32 or 3-9 x 32 in 1” tubes anymore. To hard to see. About the only way I’d even consider a scope of those sizes is if I were to actually go on a deep woods, back pack hunt for trophy game.

@ Farrah, which scope in the discovery line up did you choose again? I’m trying to find your post when you were telling all about your scope and can’t find it.

im finding that all illuminated reticle scopes are the ones that carry the excess weight. Same with the levels of variable power. So, my plan is to stick with non illuminated, variable up to 18 power max, must have locking turrets, 44 to 0mm objective and 30mm tube.

For comparisons sake, to keep things like for like, let me know all, of your WC is of the compact version. When you throw a weight out, and it comes out less than mine and you’ve got a huge illuminated reticle scope on it, you probably have the compact version of the WC, but that’s just an assumption on my end.

Anthony, whats your gun weighing in at minus the bipod and the laser flashlight? Also, which Discovery scope are you running on yours?

Bigragu, I no this is not totally an apples for apples comparison, but it's some feedback.

These days i want my rifles to be as light as possible for woods walks, with a sling.

I have the WC gen

1 25 Cal with the factory single extension moderator. I like the Leupold 1.5-5x20 scope. 11oz including the rings. The stock mounted tripple mag holder, and a walnut cheek piece. 8lbs, 3oz

However, mine is the walnut stock.

Great bullpups!!!
