Yong Heng Pressure Gauge

The pressure gauge on my Yong Heng compressor started to go south near the end of my last top off. It no longer returns to zero and the needle vibrates quite a bit when it is nearing 4300 psi. I used to think that all of these gauges were glycerin filled to dampen needle vibration. Either my gauge leaked out or it was never glycerin filled to start with. I looked at some Yong Heng compressor ads and some seem to be glycerin filled. What are others seeing on their Yong Heng compressors?

The auto-stop and set pressure versions don't use fluid-filled gauges. Probably because of the cut-out switch inside them. Replacements can be found for under $10 if you don't want or need the set pressure feature. I have one of these on an inline T fitting, it's accurate and glycerine filled but you will need to cut an M10x1 thread over the 1/8 NPT or find an adaptor to make it fit your pump. If you look a little harder you will find one with the right thread but it might cost a bit more. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32820464548.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dtIEc0X I just noticed that you found one with the correct thread. My comments above about the auto-stop, are still relevant.

AliExpress sure has many gauges for sale. It seems some Yong Heng compressors do have gauges without oil. One of the AliExpress ads claim there are Yong Heng gauges that do not require oil due to a vibration dampening built into the guage.

I'm not sure how good this is considering where my current gauge is at. I picked up two Sharp Tiger units from AliExpress and we will see how they do. Oil filling is a real simple way to dampen vibration.

So how did the shark tiger glycerin filled units perform,? Are they accurate, Hows it holding up.

I looked at it when it worked at all. But towards the end it would go as far up as it could go but the burst disc did not burst and the gauge on the fill set was below 300 bar so I knew the reading was no good. I should probably figure out what the thread is and order one (or more). But I don't know if gauges you can't trust are really much if any better than no gauge. I need to change out the temperature gauge too, it stopped working too and I have a couple replacements. Maybe I should treat the pressure gauge like the temperature gauge and just order multiples. But I know the temperature will be near 60 C at most as long as I keep the run to more than 20 minutes. I like my YH but it certainly doesn't have the best gauges. But after a couple dozen tank fills I know pretty much what the temperature will be and I'm confident in the gauge on the fill set (which gets backed up by the admittedly crude gauge on the bottle).

Im thinking of buying a few of the sharp tiger m10 gauges how long did they last you.?

They go out all the time, no biggie. Order a couple.

GLYCERIN filled gauges should be oem equipment on YH compressors but, unfortunately, they're not. YH vibration kills them. Glycerin filled is the cure. I'd advise NOT using a plug and getting a glycerin filled gauge so you have a way of monitoring pressure all through your system. It's there for a reason.

I replaced mine with an m10x1/8npt 6000 psi adapter and a Wika 5000 PSI gauge, best move I ever made on my heng.
