I expect once you add the shipping in, most of the $300+ ones are free shipping, it will be near the same or more than the others.

Oh, that's almost like free anyway. ;^) You can find these things for really cheap like under $250 now and then but never when you need to buy one.

I bought a spare just a few days ago, because you never know when they are going to fail on you; call it cheap insurance.

I bought a back up unit too after I over heated mine several times to the point it smoked. Fergot to turn the water pump on. So, figured it could not be trusted. But it was the new replacement that died on me not what I figured would happen. Poor QC as the second stage piston received no locktight and unscrewed and beat itself to death on the head. A simple $12 part and hours time fixed it though. It has been running for twenty plus hours now. I retired the old unit cuz it was one of the early compressors with the weak piston, had allot of hours on it, and I had a new piston for it.
