Yong Heng a little help

Ive had my compressor for about 1 1/2 years now, it is the 220 volt auto shut off and has worked great until recently. When I turn on the compressor with hoses attached and equal pressure in my half hour tank and the compressor, the gauge on both the bottle and the compressor shoots from 2600 psi to 4000 psi in 10 to 15 seconds, then auto shut off kicks in, I bleed the hose and release the air in the compressor. Problem is the tank is still below 2700 psi. I use Royal purple oil the compressor, and temp barely gets to 40 degrees Celsius. Does anyone have problem like this? I am very careful when. filling. I run the compressor for a few minutes and bleed the exhaust knobs. I Would really appreciate a little help. Thank You

Thanks to all, cleaned everything from compressor to the tank, looked fairly clean when started but after a good cleaning I found quite a bit of crud in the fittings, used a little isopropyl on the fittings and just air on the hoses. Got all back together, warmed up the compressor and purged, the bottle was down to 2500 psi when I started the compressor, equalized, I also opened the tank valve 2 full turns and it filled my tank to 4000 psi in about 15 minutes. Much relief. I also printed out the tips Edosan wrote and tacked it above my unit. Thanks again, a little help worked.
