Yo is full of crap...

A lot of the time but not in the case of recommending the Aim Sports aspha 6, 4.5-27x50mm MR1 MRAD Reticle rifle scope. You like how I did that? Just joking Yo! Love him or hate him, I knew that would get your attention!

So, whether or not this scope compares to $1200 scopes, I’m not sure. I’m not going to be crazy and say it compares with my Vortex Golden Eagle or Razor gen. 2’s but we’ll see how good it is this weekend when I compare them all side by side.

Yo did recommend it for my son’s new Zbroia and for $225 on Sale at Optics Planet, I thought I’d give it a try. It’s built like a tank, is SFP which my son likes so the reticle doesn’t get too thick, has lots of power, great turrets, the glass is clear, very clear, it tracks perfectly, and comes with a nice sunshade and rubber bikini style cover. I was thoroughly impressed with my first Discovery scope for around $250, it really surprised me. This s one did the same, even more so. The scope retails for $393 or something like that but can be found on sale for under $250. I bought ours delivered for $223. For $223, this is going to be a hard scope to beat. So Yo, you did good on this one bud. Everybody have a great weekend!

I have an Ares BTR as well as a Vortex Golden Eagle, a couple Razor gen. 2’s and some Leupold scopes I’ll compare it with. I never said it would surpass $1200 scopes, Yo did. I’m on vacation for a couple of weeks starting tomorrow, will have some time and plan on comparing them side by side at dusk to see about light gathering capability and clarity throughout the focal range. I’ll give an unbiased opinion of my findings.

I’ve had AIM scopes. For the money I thought the one I had was decent. If I remember it got blurry at max magnification . Best deal I’ve seen lately is a leupold 6.5x25 mark 4 at midway for $999. BUT it’s probably not a good scope for air rifle use. Unless you don’t shoot really close (which I don’t ). I have mine on my 223 bolt gun .
It’s hard to measure the quality with regard to optics. Generally I find the more costly scopes really are better. The question is can you justify the expense. I tend to buy scopes in the $500 range but I do spend a little more for my ground hog powder rifles. Mostly because I like to film thru the lenses and if you do that a better scope gives you better results.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I’m having some trouble with the Alpha 6.

1. I can’t zero the scope! When I pop the cap and try to put the turret back down for zero the increment is 4 mil, so it’s pure luck if I get to set zero!

2. I tried to dial with the elevation turret, the documentation says it’s 0.1 mil but it could be my math but it seems more granular than 0.1 mil.

anyone else had the same issue? I’m thinking about returning it. I really need working and predictable turrets.

the glass is pretty darn clear though, however like someone else mention at 27x its a little hazy but it’s under 300 bucks.

Buy the Tac Vector version the turret lines up with the mark as you already know if that's the biggest deal breaker for you.

I ordered 21 TWENTY ONE NEW ONES so I can check of there are optical variances all at max power. The one I have is CLEARER than my $599 sale JAPAN BUSHNELL BT 4305 TAC 4.5-30x50 when comparing both at 27x.

The scope in question is NOT a BTR good luck on the quest! I am retired and old with falling eyes! I should be able to get more respect based only on an opinion. I have always tried to give a fact, based on an opinion! If this not good enough I also respect all opinions. Some times you need to re read the response, I have failed on a more correct response. I may not be the old failing that some may think that I am right! No offense to YO

My reply wasn't meant to knock your findings just clarifying the model comparison that's all but since you are well experienced even you know there are variances between same scopes same exact models some clearer than others etc. I have recently bought 20 Sightron SIII 10-50x60 Illuminated mil hash and most are very blurry past 30x while only just a couple handful are a little on the not as blurry side. Still not as clear as I had hoped. None are clear all the way to 50x though no matter who says it.

In this never ending quest of clarity I have a MARCH-F and a Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60x BOTH incoming per some members recommendations.
