"Yes, it's made for kids." --- Racoons visit bait station testing PB + Chocolate

This morning the doorbell cam sent an alert to my phone at 4:57am and I was STOKED to shoot the first rat using my newly acquired ATN 4K Pro scope, nope, just coons and the scope is on my Prophet Performance Compact .22. Even if the scope was on my Taipan VL .25 I would have given them a pass.

I was having a smoke in the front yard, when the doorbell cam alert buzzed, and tried to stealth my way into the kitchen and open the backdoor to get some ATN video but they are wise to all of that business.

Finger licking good but not enough to finish the tray. Surprised chocolate and PB didn't get a stronger reaction. Cool video.

I am curious why raccoons get a pass. No judgement. The "whys" of what makes a target and what makes a "pet" (you are feeding them :) ) interest me.

Thanks man. There is a second video where the coon is more interested...

I am interested in making a video of a headshot with the Taipan VL.25 + Predator Poly Mag but can't quite justify whacking them when they don't bother me, property or pets. I don't want to eat it and don't want the pelt, no point.

The only 'bother' they made for me was toppling a wood pile, three times, but it was crappy wood (short pieces of knotty pine) that was impossible to stack nicely. That wood went into the woodstove and the issue is over ;)

Rats NEVER get a 'pass'.

Cool videos. Coon won’t get a pass from me but that’s just me, they are wise not have visited my yard for many months. Skunks and opossums get a pass as long as they don’t dig up my yard or eat my tomatoes. Of course, like you no rodent get a pass at me casa!

The possums are in a 'grey' area for me ;) sure wanna do some ballistic testing on one. They visit a couple time per month I reckon.

Depends on my attitude THAT day.

Raccoons do not get a pass from me . Too many times suffering house damage to either myself or friends houses or grounds. However- do NOT headshot these things with a polymag- it will bounce off. Now maybe that’s only with a frontal head shot, but I won’t risk another shot again with them. H&N hornets, yes , polymags , no . But since you’re targeting rats , poly away! Lol!

MikeHunt. You and I kinda think alike. I let the raccoons come and go as they please. Although I have not seen any for a long time. I also get possum. And a stray cat on occasion. My main target animals are rats and mice. But with that being said. I see what is going on In my yard. So if any critter becomes a nuisance. I’ll know who is to blame. I only use bird seed for my bait. Mostly because my cat will eat any sort of tasty people food.
Good luck on your rat hunting. I’ll be looking forward to seeing the video.

Mike! Very cool of you to give the bandits a pass when they are doing no harm! But…EXCELLENT shots on both of the RATS, nice videos as always! Blew them both into next week..LOL..Back to the Future Rats! I have a mated pair of rats that have been visiting for a week now but couldn’t shoot them as I had a friend from outta town here staying in my shooting window room but he left today so….maybe tonight! Tight lines bro!
