Yellow forum is now the Airgun Warriors?

Michael. Regardless of what other forums do, I would like to personally thank you for putting AGN together and maintaining it the high standards that you do. I personally do not belong to other forums and the reason is the rude and childish behavior they allow. It takes the fun out of it for me. The standards AGN matains puts it far above the others. Thank You. Sylvan

Everyone has a right to exist & commune and it's good to see you guys creating a healthy awareness around these recent events. I like yellow, have been a member there for years, and am glad to see them update their platform... just can't help but feel it's a little weird copying another's layout in such a small industry. Why not just go your own way and make it special the way Michael has?

I've got mixed feelings on this Michael. In one hand I feel for ya that they copied your site. In the other I think it's kinda cool they did... says a lot about ya. Let's just do what we do and keep focusing on making AGN the best stop on the circuit for these guys.

I have been a member of the yellow for years and joined the new forum. I hardly posted in the old yellow forum because I hated the format. Any time there are a group of airgunners there will be an opportunity to learn something or acquire some good deals on gear. I don't get involved in the politics of any of the forums but just take the opportunity to interact with other airgunners. All forums have their good, bad and ugly characters.

Wordpress has forum software called bbpress freely available to everyone
anybody can setup a forum with it that looks just like this one

Its unclear how the new forum looks & functions like AGN. There could have been a breech, an old developer illegally selling our code, or its entirely possible that Steve Schinis spent a boatload of $ and years of his time trying to mimic AGN.

Exactly - and Michael - if (anyone) spent a "boatload of $$" for the development I think they got taken.

All i know this forum is a comfortable place to read and post. Unless something changes I will always go here first because I almost never feel stupid asking a question. I have received a lot of good info from nice people I like to think of as friends. Never felt that way anywhere else in the past. So let them copy the format but it still wont be the same vibe.

Agreed. I never went to the yellow because I couldn’t stand their site in its old form and my first experience at GTA wasn’t pleasant but AGN was nothing but great from the start.

I like all the various forums fo different reasons . But this one is the one I call home I guess you would say ..I like the layout , but I just feel more comfortable here . 
To me the forums are like sports bars ...I go to quite a few , but some just seem to be a better fit . All the forums have some great folks that frequent them . And there's a lot to learn on each one . 
Airguns are a hoot , and that's the main draw along with the company. 
I think it's odd they seem to have copied this forum , but then again it speaks well to the layout here . 
AGN is where I choose to hang out and read and post . For me it's just the best fit simple as that .

I have no experience with The Yellow. I joined GTA as my first air gun forum just because it was the first result in a search engine. I only joined this forum last spring per a recommendation of a fellow air gunner. 

Each forum has it's own vibe; neither good nor bad, just different. I find the navigation of this forum a bit more cumbersome than GTA, but maybe that's because I've used the latter more. Unless I bookmark or subscribe to a topic here (which generates emails that I'd rather not get), I seem to forget where I posted, and lose some threads of interest. On GTA, you can hit a "show new replies to your posts" link, and it brings up a list of every thread you've ever posted in. That is a very helpful feature in my opinion. If there is a similar feature here, please tell me. 

My experience, overall, has been positive on both forums, and I think it speaks volumes to the air gun community itself. Yes, you get the usual "know it alls" and the bickering back and forth that you get with every forum, but I just ignore folks like that, as do most others.

This sport brings a good many people with technical knowhow who are very generous with their time and assistance. That's a very positive reflection of this community.

I'll just copy and paste what Joe said and put my name on it ... :p

It's an honor they recognize AGN as the benchmark and leader in the airgun community... however, a close copy is odd.

AGN is my "go to" forum. I browse the classifieds on yellow and visit GTA every so often but spend 99% of my time right here.

Hopefully, Yellow will change it up and make it their own. Their old format was long over-due for a change.

Well I got some say in all of this I guess. But nothing that really counts. 

I am a guest to many forums being I am a forum owner as well. I say that because when I started mine I asked the GTA and Yellow how this was going to go over with them with me owning a forum and posting on theirs. 

I'll not go into that but I was given rules. At least I was man enough to cross that bridge. Some owners were super nicevand welcomed my ideal on the starting of a forum. Others seemed not so pleased. It was as I was stealing! 
Anyway good for of anyone changing locations and re branding. You can not tell me that money is being made with supporters advertising. I advertise for free and my forum is a small one. No funding at all.

I enjoy stopping in here. I just do not stray away from home much but I do read. This is a great hobby and a large community with many great people. I enjoy helping others when I can. 

Difference in opinions and ways we all do things is interesting and there are many right and wrong ways to go about things. I respect all opinions. 

If you got a good group of members policing is not hard. We are all adults for the most but with this hobby we all need to remember the young people that are coming up in the hobby. Safe practices are always for the best. I have short cuts that I do not post about that I dare not suggest because it takes experience to do what I do and then things can go wrong even at that.

To add to that many may not get the same results as others do. But this is not a tell all. Some times explaining methods get fouled due to the explanation in posting gets left out or misread. Or as me doing all I do I may forget part of the method. I don't log ever move I make on paper. It all becomes as a robot when doing builds and again experience goes a long ways.

I too am stuck for now with tapatalk in an unknown adventure. Tapatalk is a cell phone base company. There are many as I that use the smart phones for Internet use. I have 4 years of data with really no non expensive way to recover as many other forums are.

I'm just glad to be able to roam when I want and then go home. 

Thanks AGN for allowing me to drop in. You have a great forum going on and it is growing everyday and you have much intetesting topics. Its a confortable house you have. Congrates on your acheivements. I do hate to see anyone taken for a ride after much time developing a working platform.

If people will take time to right click on each respective page and choose the option "view page source" it is apparent that the code between sites is different even though the front end is a similar layout. This discussion is pointless IMHO. The new format over there is superior to their old site, user friendly and easy to navigate. Did everyone miss the statement by "Steve" that that forum format MIGHT be temporary while he gets the tap-a-talk forum completed. 

"Facistbook" and other "AntiSocial Media" has taught the entire population to be meddlers in the affairs of others WITHOUT invitation!
