Ye old (but not quite vintage) cheap-n-reliable...

Cleaning up some picture folders and ran across a couple I thought I'd share. No real point, but thanks for visiting!

The Gamo Varmint was probably the cheapest gun I ever bought, 'cept perhaps a QB78, but not by much.

It was more accurate than I am. Never tried any real distance shooting with it, but for backyard plinking, worked fine.
Stock scope, with a flashlight added for fun and a couple spare rails. Cheap Winchester rounds seem to do a good job.

I must have been overwhelmed by paint-fumes and took a couple of rattle-cans to it.
My "distressed camo" look! lol

Managed to sell it for almost as much as I paid. Must have been that paint-job.
Upgraded to a Silent Cat after that.

If I'm to believe UPS updates, I should be getting a new rifle in today. Swarm Magnum g2 in .22.
Like most things I've owned, I'll probably do pics/vids somewhere.

Thanks again for hanging out with me, albeit virtually. :)

I look forward to the video on the magnum for sure. I’ll probably have a varmint model one day. Set it up as a light weight “truck gun” that’ll be my “cabinet gun” in reality lol. Still, I want one. Going through a gamo phase at the moment.

What brings you to that phase in life? I tend to think Gamo is over priced for what they deliver. My next purchase might very well be an Hw30 or Hw35 ... easy cocking and awesome accuracy.

I’ve always liked Spanish products, but the Gamo line doesn’t impress me. I know that companies like Airforce import some interesting companies from Spain as well. I don’t know what their quality is like.

I tend to think of Gamo guns like Glocks. Cheap, reliable, reasonably accurate, and about as unattractive. :)

They're functional for what they are, an all-around shooter. I've had good accuracy with the, oh, half-dozen I've owned over the years. I shoot break-barrels a lot, so there might be something to that. Preference and experience.

I have no game in Gamo, or any other brand. I shoot whatever I have at the moment. I tend to use a gun (air or powder-burners) for a while, say a couple years, then move on to something different. I sell/trade as much as I buy.

Not better or worse, but I think of myself more as a shooter than a collector. And there's been very few guns I've hated/loved everything about it.

Probably my favorite little (co2 tho') shooters are the QB78 series.

The arguably prettiest air-gun I own at the moment, an Umarex Forge .177:

New toy came in yesterday.

Some of the ammo came in today, so you can guess what I did this afternoon! :)

So far, so good. Right out of the box, no scope, 10-yards. Just to break it's cherry.

Funny how the very 1st shot was an impressive nearly-bullseye, but a miss.

A little adjusting to the sights and I think it'll be dead on. Then time to move the target out further.

ugh, I should probably start a new thread if I'm going to go this path...
