X Slug Barrel and the Impact .25 Gen 1

I recently bought an X barrel upgrade for my Gen. 1 FX Impact. The plan is to get the slug liner for it but now I realize that my Gen.1 might not be able to generate the energy needed for slugs owing to the fact that you aren't supposed to go above 142 bar ( according to my manual) on the regulator.
I know that the FX Impact X, (Gen. 2), has a bigger beefier regulator that can go much higher. I think I read where Matt Dubber plans to run his Gen. 2 up into the 170's for his slug shooting.
So do us Gen 1-ers bite the pellet on this one?

Speaking of Gen. 1 regs., Matt wrote on this forum that FX had gotten some bad bellville washers from their supplier in the earlier Gen. 1 days and as a result people had creeping regulators. They rectified the situation..... I'm wondering when that occurred as I have had some reg creep. If heavier washers would allow me to up the pressure beyond 150 then that might do the trick.

Thanks,

KP

I've a gen 1 as well, and love the possibilities using slugs. That being said, given the number of times I've had to fix something, Ernest had to fix something, AoA, and earlier this year, FX had to fix something, I'll wait until FX confirms that the Gen 1 can safely carry that pressure in the reg.
I'm not getting down on the Impact, I've shot it alot (!). It does what they promise, but there are little things that go wrong (and sometimes big things)
Compared to my other heavily used guns- I try to shoot everyday here in NorCal, my FX's has needed 4 x's as much loving.... Except for the Ranchero and FX 400.
Best of luck guys, I'll follow your lead!

2D1C, I've read that thread and it's interesting. Thing is, the Crown and the Gen2 Impact share the same regulator which is bigger then the Gen1's. At least I'm of the understanding that they use the same reg, So that doesn't really apply to me....the Gen 1 has the smaller reg. I am curious though to see if I can use the heavier washers in the Gen1 reg. At this point I think only FX can help me. It's hard to catch them on the phone. I was hoping someone else might have dealt with this.
My gun seems to shoot fast, like 855-860 at 120 bar shooting JSB MKII. So I might be able to sneak it up to 145 or 150 with some good punch with lighter slugs. Guess we will see.

I just saw on another topic some of this same information. No confirmation yet but apparently the gen2 has a different trigger block/housing which holds the regulator. So first you need the new block/housing for around $300 then you need the new regulator. I think, not sure if any of the old regulator parts are transferable or re-usable in the new housing. Seems like us gen1 users should get a break on the upgraded parts but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm subscribed to this thread for any new info and will report anything new I find out.

Have two impacts silver .22 and balck .30 both mk1 in Black .30

reg is on 155bar shooting over 10

months and not have any problems

Toma are you using stock FX gauges? I ask because my stock gauges read high so when I was set to 140 it was really like 110 bar. I used to scratch my head and go why is my gun so slow? I got some Huma gauges and where I used to set at 150 bar, I now get the same velocity at 120 bar

What velocities are you getting with what pellet at 155bar? Are you shooting slugs?
