8 so far.  These four plus two pinned on two different silos and two more went to the cats.  Now the pigeons won't land anymore. 🙁

Can't they see there's a perfectly good silo right next to the other one with no dead pigeon on it? 😉

Also two skunks and two woodchucks.  Can't upload pics right now.

That last one kind of looks like the rooster pheasant that ran infront of the car at 60 miles an hour. Rear view was an explosion of feathers.

Bob which are you preferring the 25gr or the 34gr JSBs? I haven't tried the 34s yet out of the Compact but I know they are a hammer out of my Renegade HP. I will chrony some this Saturday to see how much they drop in fps over the 25gr. Nice shooting as always and I would love some shots on pigeons. Trying to get a few farmers to allow my services.  Thanks for another great vid.

    Thanks guys!

    Hookster,

The difference I noticed right away was the flatter trajectory of the 25.4gr going so fast.

With the 34gr, I had a 15/50 yd zero, which required quite a bit of hold under at 30-35 yds.

With the 25.4gr, I have a 25/50 yd zero, so you can tell how much flatter these lighter pellets go at that speed.

I am preferring the 25gr pellets due to the flatter trajectory.   They also have less recoil, which only makes a difference in video really.

I am going to try and get some footage today at the local farm.  If I go in the evening I will have the sun at my back to light up the pellet.  I can set up some 70 yd shots and check the pellet in flight at greater distances.

I will give the 25gr a try in my Renegade HP and see if that calms down the recoil. No way I can use the sideshot camera on it as is with the 34gr. Jumps bad when you fire it. I do see a substantial difference though on chucks and other critters between the 25gr and 34gr. I guess dead is dead but those 34s get them to room temperature very quickly.

No doubt the 34gr pellets hit hard, but going just by numbers, I get 55 ft.lbs from the 34gr at 848fps and 51 ft.lbs. from the 25.4gr at 953fps…..not much less.  Though I have yet to shoot a woodchuck with the 25.4gr pellets.

But I did drop two woodchucks in their tracks, like stone dead, with the S410f TDR shooting 18gr JSB's at 855fps.  So about half the energy of the 25 caliber but did the job just as well.  Every woodchuck I've hit in the head regardless of caliber (.25 or .22) has not been able to make it into their hole.

But I do like the MKII pellets better because of their design…..longer and not as narrow in the waist.  The profile just looks a lot more efficient.

Let us know how they work in your Renegade!  🙂

Nice shootin Bob! Smackin pest birds emphasize the word PUFF! Ever tried Predator GTOs?  My Wildcat 25, with the original ST Barrel loves em. But I use them under 75yds on not so windy days. Under 50yds if cover is available especially if Dove or Pigeon breast beacon wrapped Jalapeño poppers is on the menu ?. Keep up the work
